That race was an example of what happens when you let your intrusive thoughts take over 🤣That last contact could've ended a lot worse but we take our medicine and move on
That green #21 car suffered from target fixation. I used to watch "Canada's Worst Driver" and it was amazing how many of those unbelievably horrible drivers had that specific ailment. No matter what would be thrown in front of them, they'd just drive straight at it and crash into it. I'd make sure you mark the #21 as "hazardous" in the RaceLab app :)
I understand target fixation, I lock up and follow a car off more times than I can count, but that can’t of been that, right? I mean they literally turned into them, they didn’t drift, they turned… why?? 😂
Watching the replays at the end, I think they thought the crashed car was going to slide to the right of the track, but realised it wasn’t 😅 Looked daft though

I must say, you drove like this race marked your first flying lap on this track... the end result wasn't helped by the fact you were a bit unlucky towards the end, but I agree you seemed too distracted by less important things!
Thank you so much for uploading this video! I have been really discouraged lately about my performance in races because I had such success early and now that I'm really getting into competitive splits I feel like a "rolling roadblock." I have had a couple of "not clear" moments and been absolutely debased over voice chat. So I watched some of your videos on settings, turned off the voice chat, installed crew chief, adjusted my monitors and am back out there! It's nice to see that even the best make mistakes sometimes!

Dave is Human!!!!! This is a fantastic video as it shows that racers far better than me can eat shit as good as the rest of us plebs. We've all had these races and its great that you show us it happens to you as well. Many youtubers wont post crap races but kudos to you for doing this!

Excellent analysis. That start set the mood, and you mentioned it early on that you were too eager across the board. Many corners deep, coming up on other cars quick, and how many times did you say you were too eager or need to slow that down or need patience?

I did a much lower-split on this race for the first time last night, and unfortunately caused a massive wreck on T1. Watching this has been invaluable and I'll give it another shot tonight.
That was very entertaining and simultaneously very brutal. I appreciate that you televised this race as I'm sure you could have just not uploaded it. I saw the cap bpm of 132 and thought this was the race that got you there but no, what was the 132 bpm from? Anyway thanks for this Dave, a good time can be made from a tough time.

Had one of my worst 'races' also on Zandvoort last year, blew up my engine at the start with some revving on the grid. The rest of the grid had a great laugh about it, I left in shame 🤪

It's like "climate change", when they only ever report the sea rises (without reporting the sea declines) one can only assume we are all going to drown.
It's important to report BOTH and EQUALLY! At which point we can all begin to see these people are full of crap and we are nowhere NEAR drowning.

-0.99 is crazy. As someone who is constantly trying to build SR that HURTS
21 turned into a rabbit. If anyone has even driven country roads you'll know what I mean; they have a tendency to escape the path of your car but then jump right back into the line of danger. 21 just had a brain freeze and saw the car drifting up the track and thought oh I can dip below them and then their brain just had some lag.

I think the Dayglo Porsche thought the Merc was gonna spear across the track and wanted to dive to the other side. You know how unpredictable iRacing's cars ping about. I can see myself doing the same. Couple that with him probably stepping on the brakes so any movement is exaggerated
Yes, it is possible what he could see was different to that which Dave could see.

I can't afford iRacing, but have become smitten with Le Mans Ultimate. I'm so glad I tried their early access. The FFB is magnitudes better than ACC, my former main sim. Unfortunately, I can't expect more tracks and cars then what is licenced. I really hope they allow mods like in RF2. I would even buy DLC's for more tracks and cars because LMU just feels so guuuud. It feels so much better that RF2. I can't wait for more videos from you in LMU. LMU needs more attention. 😍

looks like green car slid left and then right on the brakes. Unfortunate, but definitely and incident. That minus .99 SR is pretty rough lol.
I'm new to these cars/ this race. Your pace is so good. Unlucky result I'm sure you'll put those numbers right in no time
people really struggle on this track for some reason. went to practice it today and lots of people are still on the brake when im already accelerating. rear ending people when not expecting them to still be on the brakes.

Hey Dave, i was in this race (orange Merc) & i mistakenly blamed you for a bad rejoin which started the chain reaction of that crash! It was actually another porsche, so sorry! One of my worst races ever! Keep up the awesome work.

I did this race Monday night and it was good, got 6th with 0x. Ran again last night and got punted in the carousel on lap 2 and that gave me the meatball. Come out of the pits and get ran off the track right after the carousel. I hate people sometimes, well, most times lol.
Laksh was trying to get you out of the race. First by brake testing you into turn 1 so that he hit him from behind and then when the other car spun, he turned into him so that he could bounce off and collect you to get you even more incident points

Ever since I've entered C class in sports car, I haven't had a single good race... it seems every race there is at least one other driver that is out to get me with shameless dive bombs or using me as a braking point. Feels good to know I'm not the only one struggling right now lol

what are the buttons to your left that also work as a car on you left or right indicator?
Button box. They're handy for seldom used, but useful key binds. Can also be used to display flags as well as cars that are beside you if you don't use radar.

We all have those days, my race was in falken sports car in gt4 was over before it started due to leader suddenly braking and causing a lot of crashes behind him, which gave me 20+ min of repair :( worst thing iRacing went to maintnance after that so i literally didnt even get to race even for a lap lol
You get a fast repair for that series. Just make sure it's enabled in your pit box and then make sure you turn off all the tyre's from being changed. You can then stop in your grid box and instantly drive away fully repaired. You only get one per race.
@TheOGReeceYT not for Falken sports car, you only have it for falken gt4 fixed. The falken sportscar challenge is c class, so no fast repairs

In the accident slowed down it looks bad, but in real time I see how the guy could have through the car was going ot keep sliding. The yellow car had a lower IR and in his races people tend to not hold the brakes and go all over the track. Once he realized the car wasn't going to keep going he just over corrected

I will never understand why iracing doesn't use actual car damage to decide if it's a 4x. A 4x is defined as heavy contact. How can it be heavy contact if neither car has a scratch?

Question? in iracing can you change the gear ratios of the cars, like 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th and final drive? or are all the cars stock and nothing can be done to them?
Some cars have a final gear ratio which you can change but not the gt4 cars

Oh dear, not a great day in the Dave cam camp, Team boss will be hauling you over the coals my lad for that race lol, That said, it is nice that you show the good, the bad and the downright ugly parts of your racing, some dubious stewards decisions for sure in that race.
