  • The 2022 Ferrari F8 Tributo (~$447,920 CAD converted, $358,783 USD as specced) may just be the last Ferrari of its kind. Ferrari is progressing towards smaller displacement, hybrid engines. The F8 Tributo however, still proudly displays its 3.9L mid-engine V8 beneath an F40 inspired Lexan cover. Assisted by twin-turbos that have been designed to reduce turbo lag, a mighty 710 horsepower and 568 lb feet of torque are easily accessible by the driver. But how is it to drive on a canyon road? And how does it compare to Ferraris of the past, such as the legendary 458? Thomas and James are excited to see what the F8 Tributo is all about. We hope you enjoy the episode! SUBSCRIBE!

I have to agree when I heard that statement. You know they worked on that for ages.
The car and roads in perfect situations but in the real world no one should ever need and buy one.
It's ostentatious nonsense when people are fighting for their lives while the world sits back and watches.
Cars like these are the reason that capitalism is failing. The gap between rich and poor is too wide. Cars like this have always existed as they have ment to push us forward so what's this one's excuse? It's not making us greener or winning a war it's just bullshit.
So in context it's a great line but little meaning. It's a great channel and great entertainment but really it's a sales pitch as someone with more money than sense will buy it.
It used to be funny when you'd see them in traffic jams so far away from what they were designed for but now it feels rather sad. I look at the car and then the guy as it's normally a guy and think you've made it but you could have really made a difference but you decided to look like a knob instead.. 🇺🇦✌️

    • @Bobcat9
      @Bobcat9 Před rokem

Yah, that's the point. If it weren't entertaining, no one would watch. And don't presume there's no entertainment in different styles of reviewing. Just because you're not entertained by it doesn't mean it's not entertaining or "great" or "amazing" or "perfect" - and we're not all amazed by the same things, perfection is relative, and grammatically "great" is always relative, not empirical. There's a bunch of folks that mention their unqualified opinions all the time as if we're somehow entitled to it. No one is entitled to your opinion, except yourself. Difference here is, while my opinion may not be solicited, it's factual all the same. Your argument that >they don't make just XX, they make XY< fails to provide any logic or reason your opinion matters. Find a better way to compliment the work they do without also exhibiting how meaningless your opinion is.

My family has been Ferrari collectors since the 60s. My grandfather, my father, and now me. The only car that has made my father cry from enjoyment is his 512 BBI. The screaming V12 of that car, with the cream interior, overlooking the red hood tied with the two toned contrast black bottom skirts, with a manual transmission... my father still gets emotional when he drives it. When I took delivery of my tailored F8, the drive home was emotional to me, because I knew it was the pinnacle of mid engine Ferrari. Additionally, I knew it was the last time I would be leaving my dealer in a mid engine Ferrari with all power being provided from an V8 internal combustion engine. I didn't care about the sound, the lack of a manual... it was the smell, the G's I felt in my hips under curves, the leathers, the tactile switches, the feeling of emotional connection, its sensational.

Your reviews are spot on. Amazing... I drop an F8 2 days before watching this review - and you nailed it. "It drives pretty". I'd say that the pace of the car is so easy / effortless. Like it's super easy to go really really fast and feel in control. For me personally - I'd choose a car with more drama.

I´ve always thougth that the 458 was the most beautiful Ferrai ever, the 488 and now the F8 look too busy in comparison. I agree that the ininterrupted lines are what makes the 458 such a beauty and the holes in the rear wheel arches for the turbos are, in my opinion the thing that puts me off the most.

What a beautiful car! If it performs even a fraction of a percentage point as well as it looks, it may be the closest thing to perfect as there is on the highways of the world.
Personally, I like the looks of this car more than those of the 458, though the 458 is also incredibly gorgeous! I guess I’m a geek for intake vents, or something, but this car just looks light-speed-fast when it’s standing still.
To me, the 458 does have gorgeous flowing lines, but in some ways, I feel that it’s almost too plain (almost). I also prefer the front of the F8 over that of the 458. The 458 nose seems a bit too horizontal; I think the diagonal and vertical lines of the F8 break up the space a bit better. Also, for me, the return of the quad-circular taillights is just the pies de resistance! It’s enough to put it over the top, even if I hated the other differences!
All in all, though, I’d love to have either one and, as you said, it’s all subjective.
One thing I think maybe everyone agrees on, though... despite the lower power ratings, I’d MUCH rather have the naturally aspirated engine in “my” F8. Better dependability (presumably, but hey, it’s a Ferrari), better sound, better driving experience... I think.

My heart lies with the F355 (or previously the 438), not the Italia. I always felt like the 458 Italia was a little too try-hard in its styling. I think I even preferred the F430 (the last manual mid-engined Ferrari) over the Italia. I do find the F8 Tributo has some wonkiness to its styling, but it does look very much like a Ferrari and has a lot of 'tribute' flowing through it, notably those 90s-esque wheels (absolutely love them...a bit of Ferrari F50 in those).
Sure, I guess I could forego the manual transmission in something like this, but that's kinda why something like an F355 will be so timeless. The compromise & the reward. The engine note is also missing here; turbochargers and filters are a benefit.
I often wonder if; chasing fuel economy numbers, the turbocharged DI engine is favoured, which also produces more solid particulate, so filters are added. But...could it not be possible to build an old engine like the 5V F129 & F131, with dual injection and treat emissions with 2 stages of catalytic converter? You'd get piss poor fuel economy, but you'd take care of the emissions. Then, you could sandwich in an electric motor for all the meaningless driving you'd do. So you get to enjoy a nice 90s engine when you want, and get an average fuel economy that would balance out the fuel consumption. With all the very smart people out there, is there not a way to have our cake and eat it too?

The beauty thing is, really, completely subjective. I think the F8 is more beautiful than the 458 exactly because 1 - it looks like its evolution, and 2 - it looks more aggressive. And the most beautiful supercar ever? That will be the 360 Modena, IMO. I simply LOVE the F8, every bit of it. Thanks for another excellent video, guys!
