The energy in this episode is so good, you can really tell these guys legit get along together. The energy with Preach and Mark was an unexpected dynamic but it works.
So brilliant! Love when Preach says that Rogan encourages people to talk, to converse and have a different opinion; to be more in the middle on issues rather than on the extreme left or right. Preach says, "You know what the political parties hate? People in the middle. People that are nuanced"

This is what comedians are supposed to do. That's in theory their job. Point out the absurdities. Even in Medieval times only the court jester could mock the king. This is because they were considered lower than a slave, but still, they were able to mock the king. That's an important job.

This has always been the case from what I know. Comedians are always telling us the uncomfortable truth that we dont like to talk about and it makes us laugh. They are responsible almost for pointing out the crazy things going on in the world

Judging things from the past with today's lenses is called historical relativism, and this man just blew my mind. He basically asserted that this happens much quicker than it used to. Information moves so fast, and we forget so quickly, that shit from ten years ago is basically a century old.
I don’t think things are particularly moving faster, but rather our access to information has grown exponentially since shedding old bottlenecks, and we don’t have the bandwidth to catalogue this information so it gives the illusion of picking up pace

Before the internet you either got your news from the television and before the television you had the newspaper; and so on. Those two mediums are much slower at producing information than the Internet. This is what I mean by it being faster.
@Bazooka Tooth that speed is also why so many people are misinformed, and to Aba's point, the individual really has to step up and research the information rather than taking it as fact...few do this, which is why clickbait articles are so effective in forming public opinion.
@@HasanPikerIsADouche 100% that's why we have headlines for any news, starting with the newspaper. Most people react solely off of the bold triumphant/tragic headline instead of actually delving into the data. We've all been guilty of this.
this is why i always just sit back when i hear something outrageous. i know the narrative's going to change in two weeks when new information is released. everybody's stepped in shit and probably forgot about it. they pipe up on some topic and then somebody else finds old dirt on them
