In honour of Infinity War, I am doing a series on Avengers training!
Spider-Man has some of the coolest powers of any superhero. He is incredibly agile and fast and has preternatural reflexes thanks to his Spider-Sense which allows him to dodge any and all incoming attacks.
But could you develop something akin to a spider-sense for real? How is it that we are already able to react to 'unconscious danger'? And what technologies and techniques could be used to give us a spider-sense in future? Find out in this video!

    Something to enhance this:
*1)* Developing/strengthening vision, as in making the eyes _themselves_ stronger, to provide stronger long distance focus and prevent macular degeneration.
*2)* Developing a better sense of *sightless* response/orienting yourself in darkness, without sight. Perhaps you could link this to the martial art trainging of _Zanshin_ area awareness, or even how hunters track prey.
*3)* Increasing Neuro connectivity to increase reactions.

When I was a young man I was working outside. I was overcome with a sense of danger and, to the annoyance of my coworker, picked up my tools and went to the truck. I told him we should stop but he didn't listen.
It started to hail. He was sorry.
Rather than claim psychic abilities, I think my body was able to detect a sudden drastic change in temp & barometric pressure (or something) and knew something bad was about to happen.

Loved your video. Some of the things that really helped me to improved reaction time were eliminating my stressors, sleep, and focus. Especially focusing on fast moving objects sometimes even experiencing time dilation. I learned to focus my reaction time mainly by playing dodgeball, because my friend only threw 80mph fastballs. Another fun practice for improving senses is doing more with your eyes closed, it seems subtle but it works wonders

In junior high (and maybe elementary), when we played dodgeball in PE, my strategy was to mostly stay at the back where I couldn't get hit, and then occasionally, if a ball landed near me, picking it up and charging forward with it to throw it when I got to the front, and then go charging back. It was fun to rarely get hit, but it never worked out in favor, because I didn't hit anyone that way, and if I even made it to the end, I would be the only one on my team, with one or a few on the other, and then I would get hit. Or they would catch me out.

So it's also important to train your hearing for this kind of thing. I was on a walk outside when I heard the faint sound of what when I turned around I learned was a hostile dog. I then ended up spending the next few minutes dodging dog bites and yelling no until I threw a kick twords the dog, which while it didn't land it did scare him off. He didn't bark or even growl at me if I hadn't heard him behind me in time I might be in the hospital.

From a young age I had pilots tell me about peripheral vision. Using it to spot other planes coming from the sides. So I use it all the time and he's right about that helping with reflexes across many different situations. I don't have to look at things to catch them or dodge. Use it in every day life and you'll get really good at it. It's very useful and I'd say it gives you an advantage in fighting bc you see all while the other person may only know how to see just one thing happening at a time(focusing on each strike instead of their body as a whole.) Someone might throw a punch then pull out a knife, but you won't see the knife because you're focused on his punches.

I'd love to see a video looking into if you can somehow train your muscles to be more resistant to bruising or corks. I ask this as I play rugby and a corked leg is an absolute pain for training and there seems to be no research into the topic. Buutttt... from doing zercher lifts, I know for a fact that from the type of barbell digging into your elbow pain/bruising goes away.

But what about the times someone is like directly behind me and there's no way I'm seeing them in my peripheral vision but I can feel them staring lasers at me from the other side of a crowded subway? I don't know what their deal is but they sure don't look friendly. I can't account for how I pick up on that.

    @IndigoXYZ18 Před 6 lety +1

I have some ideas for some more superhero videos.
For Captain America, besides the super soldier serum you could also talk about cryonics (the draining of blood and pumping anti-freeze into the circulatory system then freezing the recently deceased in the hopes that we may one day be able to bring them back to life with future advances in either nanotechnology or recreate their consciousness in AI form with advances in brain imaging technology) given Capitan America's lore, as he was frozen and brought back to life. But regarding the super soldier serum, I hope you were going to mention DARPA's declassified ketone super soldier program.
For the Hulk, you covered basically covered him with your video on CRISPR and myostatin, although I would have mentioned the potential for using CRISPR to increase androgen receptor density (which I've heard isn't difficult in theory), as well as speculation on the possibility of using CRISPR to make our skin bullet proof by making it infuse itself with spider silk, just like we've done with goats milk. You've also made a great video on boosting testosterone, but as far as I'm aware you haven't made a comprehensive video on techniques and supplements to boost HGH (which I think would be appropriate for a Hulk themed video). Given the Hulk's tendon strength, I feel it's appropriate to mention that if you ever revisit building joints you should bring up supplementing collagen, glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM, prolotherapy, PRP or stem cell injections, BPC-157 and TB-500 (both are synthetic endogenous peptides).
For part 2 of your Wolverine bone strengthening series, I'd talk about the possibility of somehow infusing your bones with Graphene into bones for Adamantium tier strength (an idea I've been playing around with). But as for more implementable things mention Boron, CBD oil (which has been shown to improve recovery time for bone injury), some sort of vibration therapy to mimic the way a cats purr strengthens their bones like maybe ultrasound, and LLLT for enhancing mitochondrial function.
For your upcoming Wolverine healing video, if you weren't planning to, I'd mention BPC-157 (one thing to note is that it also breaks up scar tissue, so it might be counter productive to use on an injury that has not yet closed) and TB-500 (commonly stacked with BPC-157, both are synthetic versions of naturally occurring Human peptides) along with PRP & stem cell injections are great for that as well. For healing I'd also add creatine, CoQ10 / PQQ with HGH & Testosterone or anything that boost them (excluding things like HGH secretalogs like MK-677 which I've read actually barely boost HGH to make it worth it), along with LLLT (which theoretically could be used for bones and tendons as well). I've even heard of Gotu Kola having wound healing properties.
For the Winter Soldier you can talk about advances in bionics, such as Hugh Herr's robotic legs. You could also talk about cybernetic implants (most notably the ones sold by Dangerous things) used by the Grinder community.
For Hawkeye you could talk about Lars Andersen's trick archery as well as his plans to teach his methods.
For Black Widow you effectively just be talking about martial arts and weapons (the later CZcams isn't very fond of these days). However as somebody who practices traditional martial arts, perhaps you could talk about, functionalizing them through proper training and full contact sparring. As well as a few rare examples of traditional martial arts like Wing Chun and traditional Karate being used effectively in combat sports. Given Black Widow's acrobatic fighting style, I'd highlight Marcus Aurelio, the only true Capoeira fighter in MMA. Although the closest thing I've seen to Black Widow's fighting style is Quantum Jiu Jitsu, although there are no examples of these moves even being attempted in combat sports, save for the occasional flying armbar.
For Ultron you could talk about advances in AI / machine learning and neuromorphic chip technology (or even the wetware neurochips from Koniku Kore).
For Vision you could talk about speculative far future nanotech transhumanism, as well as near future Graphene cybernetics.
For the Red Skull and Hydra you can talk about Nazi superweapon projects from WW2, as well as the post war Project Paperclip.
For Nick Fury and SHIELD, you can talk about DARPA and their advanced weapons projects that are decades ahead of almost anything in the private tech sector. As well as massive underground military complexes (of which a few have been declasified).
For the Vulture (from Spider-Man: Homecoming) you could talk about Jetman (Yves Rossy), a military pilot turned aviation engineer who invented a winged jet pack and steers its direction using his aerodynamic helmet. There are also similar small personal flying devices that have been invented recently similar to the glider Green Goblin uses.
For Thor you could talk about Asgardia the Space Kingdom, the proposed space nation founded by Russian billionaire Igor Ashurbeyli, which intends to set up a permanent space colony in low Earth orbit and beyond (futurist CZcamsr Arthur Isaacs has some great videos on space colonies that you could check out).
For Scarlet Witch you could talk about hypnosis or self hypnosis (could also apply to the Winter Soldier and Loki). As well as maybe talk a bit about quantum biology, as if there is any substance behind the paranormal abilities psychokinesis, that would likely be the reason. Rupert Sheldrake has some interesting research worth checking out when it quantum biology and the paranormal.
For Dr. Strange you could talk about Terence McKenna and the alien entities one encounters in these seemingly extra dimensional worlds when taking a psychedelic like DMT (which is naturally found in the Human brain, thought to be responsible for dreams, NDE's, and potentially the alien abduction phenomenon). Dr. Rick Strassman has some really interesting research on DMT that's worth looking into. You could also talk about microdosing psychedelics like LSD or Psilocybin and their cognitive enhancing properties studied by Dr. James Fadiman (both Dr. Strassman and Dr. Fadiman have great interviews on Smart Drug Smarts). Conversely you could talk about lucid dreaming, methods of induction as well as Oneirogens (dream enhancers) such as Calea Zachitachichi and Nicotine patches, or lucid dream devices such as the Lucid Catcher which uses 40Hz tACS to stimulate the DLPFC when EEG sensors detect REM sleep, which according to a 2014 study induced lucid dreams 77% of the time.
For Rocket Raccoon you could talk about Terence McKenna's Stoned Ape theory, where he speculates that the ingestion of Psilocybin mushrooms is what gave our ape ancestors language and caused us to diverge from Chimps. Terence briefly mentions a time when some trash pandas ate some mushrooms he was growing and jokingly speculated that if they ate them for many generations, whether or not they'd become intelligent and be able to make tools like us, what with their opposable thumbs (which made me think of Rocket Raccoon).
For Iron Man you could talk about what we know about the neuroanatomical features associated with having a high IQ (the most reliable metric we have for measuring intelligence) and how to increase them (most of which comes down to boosting neurotrophic factors such as BDNF, NGF, GDNF, CNTF, etc.). As well as future technological advancement coming soon that could make Iron Man armour possible. For example along with exosuit tech, you could talk about the recent MIT-Harvard breakthrough in the mass production of Graphene, and the sci-fi battery technology and material durability (in this sense it is also very similar to Vibranium and Adamantium from the Marvel Universe) that this nanotechnology will afford us in the next 5-10 years along with many more Graphene advancements that will follow). You could also talk about alternative fusion technology like Thorium (named after Thor, so maybe it could be included in a Thor video as well) that could serve as a real life Iron Man arc reactor.
As for superhero candidates to base a longetivity video off of, there are a few MCU characters that are pretty old like Thor and Thanos, however neither of them are known for their age. For a longevity vid, I'd go back to the DC Universe, and base the video on Ras Al Ghul, and cover anti-ating technique like intermittent fasting or supplements such as Tumeric, Resveratrol, CoQ10, etc. along with more exotic longetivity enhancers such as Metformin, Epitilon, Rapamycin, Bacillus F, FOXO4-DRI, hormone replacement therapy, stem cell therapy, Liz Parrish's telomere lengthening CRISPR therapy, cryonics, all that jazz.

This is AWESOME stuff, thanks so much for your ideas and research. There is loads here that has inspired me for future videos :-D I love the idea of looking at WW2 Nazi studies (dark but fascinating stuff there) and you've tied in the superhero stuff in some really interesting ways to a bunch of awesome transhuman and self-development topics I'd love to cover. Tying into cryonics with Cap is genius (I've already finished recording the script for that one so maybe a part two!). Great way to tie in bionics too (though also thinking Adam Jensen there!). Longevity for sure - could also do Nick Fury for that one!
Definitely some interesting stuff to explore re: doctor strange and scarlet witch, could really open up the scope of the topics covered (with a cynical, scientific approach of course!). There's no doubt a lot of fractal imagery in the Dr Strange film... (I wouldn't use DMT personally, however I have this nagging hunch that microdosing could help those going without sleep - owing to its connection to dreaming?) I will for sure check out Arthur Isaacs, thanks for that :-D And I *love* the Vulture idea. There are a few folks that have designed various types of jetpack. At some point I'm interested in looking at attempts to jump higher achieved through spring boots - there were attempts by the military which ended badly but of course there's the legend of Spring Heel Jack...
And thanks for all the threads for the healing video too, that's a great help. Really appreciate this, thanks again! You clearly know your stuff. If you ever fancied writing anything for the Bioneer, let me know :-D
I'll let you know how these are coming along!

My science teacher talked about something similar. You know how you have that weird sensation when you start to put your finger in between your eyes? That’s what he talked about. He said that when he was younger, he had that sense trained to the point that he could sense any movement with in a hundred foot radius. Now if that isn’t spider sense, I don’t know what is. I also started developing that ability, but then I got glasses and now it is all but gone.

    We're no strangers to love
You know the rules and so do I
    A full commitment's what I'm thinking of
You wouldn't get this from any other guy
I just wanna tell you how I'm feeling
    Gotta make you understand
    Never gonna give you up
    Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
    Never gonna make you cry
    Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you
We've known each other for so long
Your heart's been aching but you're too shy to say it
Inside we both know what's been going on
We know the game and we're gonna play it
And if you ask me how I'm feeling
Don't tell me you're too blind to see

Hi mate, another interesting vid. Firstly let me be annoyingly pedantic (lol) by saying 'increasing' your reaction speeds 'decreases' your reaction times.
Another good way of decreasing your reaction times is by doing an activiny that uses hand eye coordination like catching a ball but using a strobe light to increase visual noise and make your brain work harder and faster to do the activity. Studies do support this and i use it myself.
    Thats my 2 cents worth,
    Peace, out

I think there must be a way to switch subconscious channels. There have been times when I can hear people across a crowded resteraunt having conversation. Times I thought the house was being destroyed and it turned out to be someone opening a pickle jar. Times I've dodged by the wind on my hair. I think of it like this...if it can be done once it can be done again.

  • @imtootiredforthissugar1178

I don’t really know how to explain it but I have this type of spidey sense I guess but it’s not really for incoming objects or people but for events that are going to happen. Only problem with it is that I can’t really tell what it is and I have to play hot or cold to get an idea of what it is and even at that, I still don’t really know. Can anyone help me pinpoint this so I don’t have to constantly have a vague idea?

I like to refer to the "spider sense" as Fighting Intuition. Using intuitive knowledge at the speed of a fight.
For those who think I'm talking about "muscle memory", do realize that muscle memory is merely another step to building fighting intuition. However, comically, many believe muscle memory to be the pinnacle of reflexes.
Think of fighting intuition more like Ultra Instinct from DB Super. And yes, you can train for defensive responses as well as offensive assaults. Only most like to believe the over dramatical sensationalized version seen in cartoons and movies.
The difference between muscle memory and fighting intuition: a person can be duped, feigned or baited using the tactic Bruce Lee made popular (strike the same way in the same spot twice or even thrice, then go completely different the next time...they will be programmed to anticipating that very same thing). Using fighting intuition (if done correctly) you will not be suckered by such tactics...just ready and alert to respond

I’ve always had these moments where something I cannot detect by the 5 senses is approaching me. It’s happened since I was little and it’s not something I seek out. It just happens.
Ex: When in my room alone, I will have a feeling that someone is coming and then boom they show up.
Every time this happens, it starts with my ears tingling and then my entire body freezes for a very brief moment. That’s a terrible description of what’s happening but that’s the best way I can describe it lol. Anyone else like this?

When Im fighting I can detect a range of punces and hits which is tho to 6 years of training myself to dodge which I obtained something I call "High Sense" I can sense a range of things which etc if Im about to be punched I detect it which this could be dangerous for whoever im fighting which I could know some of there incoming moves which I can detect from even a small bit of sound what is happening basically my brain stores data which then my Brain easily knows if there is something wrong coming
