- Back in 1990, The Washington State Department of Transportation drove West on WA SR-16 and recorded video to document the highway. This was part of a project that photographed/videotaped the states highways every couple of years. This video now resides at The Washington State Archives who were kind enough to share it.
Epic! My childhood home was built in 1989 at One Point Fosdick. This was the Gig Harbor I remember
Wow, that Target has been there a long time!
Can’t wait to watch a little later tonight.
Such a luxury driving with no heavy traffic
I made this trip several times a month while stationed at Ft. Lewis. My destination was Clallam Bay.
I lived out on the KP and I drove delivery every day back-and-forth hightailing it
Wow. It’s crazy how much of this I remember. Quite a bit of it between Gig Harbor and Port Orchard is pretty much the same today but Tacoma is unrecognizable except for the short part before the TNB near Jackson. Awesome to relive my past!
i only realized we were driving towards gig habor because of the classic bridge in tacoma right before you cross the narows, otherwise that place looks unreconizable today
Really glad they put overpasses at mullinex and ollala . That cross traffic was sketchy as! I watched it to see if there was anyone I knew and sure enough I am almost positive that was my dad in the blue Toyota truck with ladders
Holllllllly cow has it changed !!!!!
Gorst a hole then, a hole now. So many long road trips to get to G-Pa's house, Gorst was the half way point.
im sad now 😑
