@@falynoutlaw8522 Yea, it's a decades old problem by this point. The problem is deeply seeded and culturally ingrained. It's going to take several decades, once we get our shit together on it, to fix the attitude and misinformation.
Some of the current issues won't die until the folk who die-hard perpetuate them are 6ft under or burned to ashes, and even then it will be a fringe issue.

    • @someoneidk308
      @someoneidk308 Před 4 lety +36

@@foreveronmywaytofuckyourbi5567 it's more like don't actively plan on getting pregnant if your dog is known to not like children or is high energy and no one else can take care of them. It's just not a good idea and speaks to the fact that some people don't really care about their pets. If the pregnancy is unplanned, then arrange for someone else to take the pet, don't just drop it off at the shelter to be euthanized.
Also, if a dog mauls any person of any age without a genuine reason (like someone tried to kill their owner) I'd be extremely cautious letting the dog around anyone tbh. Most dogs that bite tend to bite once or twice and then be done with it.
Anyway, that's why you don't leave kids alone with dogs. The baby doesnt understand the warning signs (with prey drive causes, its stiff body language, stalking, staring, etc. With fear causes, its licking lips, wide eyes, looking away, growling, etc), but the owner should. If the dog looks like he's gonna bite, then separate them and try to resolve the issue. If not, rehome the dog.
The point is to not give away the dog to a shelter because you don't want to care for it because a "real baby" came along (lots of people use dogs as a baby substitute). Most people find out they're pregnant within the first trimester. That's 6 months of time. Make arrangements.

The one about the cat: yes, the cat *can* unintentionally suffocate the baby. They (the cats) seek warmth, and babies *are* warm. However, that doesn’t mean you have to get rid of them. You can make precautions.

This isn't a piece of advice more of a collective but my wife was pregnant around this time last year and I couldn't believe how every single woman that talk to my wife about having a baby decided to tell the most gruesome part of their story. My poor wife pregnant with her first child who is already nervous outside of her mind is hearing these horror stories. Why do women find the need to tear each other down. We were literally having breakfast after our confirmation appointment saying we were 7 weeks pregnant. The waitress hurt us talking and told us quote " My first one split me so bad I had a hundred stitches". I would never hit a woman but it was like seriously lady we have like 32 weeks more of this to go and that's what you say? I still tipped her though it killed me to do so.

I don't think they realize how terrifying it is to other women who have never experienced it. These are the same women that will call another woman "Immature" for not wanting kids because of their horror stories. There is nothing mature about calling someone "immature" for not wanting their genitals mutilated or their babies deformed! I have Tokophobia. It is a reasonable fear and calling this fear a "phobia" makes me feel like I'm being gaslighted. And I'm sure you and your wife feel the same way. Since you are the one about to have a child instead of me I'll just tell you what I'd want someone to tell me. It's okay for you guys to be scared. For any reason. If you have questions or concerns don't hesitate to ask the doctors anything. If you or your wife don't want you in the room during birth, for privacy reasons, there is no shame. If she wants you to hold her hand, hold her hand and be brave. Not going to lie. She may poop all over the place as it does happen during birth sometimes, tell her not to be embarassed because it isn't the doctors first rodeo. Even though you are not the one giving birth, you have every right to feel exhausted for her. It can be stressful because the unknown can be scary and so many things can go wrong. But so many things can go right, too. I wish you all happiness and health. Good luck!

It's also due to cat allergies. Infants can't really alert an adult when they get severe allergic reactions.
Fun story, my best friend had a cat from infanthood to 5 years old. The cat was so in love with her that he slept above her head every night. And one day she woke up covered in red spots. She went to the hospital and got an allergy test. Turns out she is hyper allergic to cats. She didn't realize that she wasn't breathing normally until they had to get rid of the cat.

After the birth of my nephew, my sister had to switch obs because her doctor constantly told her "breast feed, breast feed, breast feed!!!" I really hate when people make it seem like you don't care about your baby or smth if you don't breastfeed, my sister couldn't produce enough milk for my nephew despite taking everything they gave her to help the milk along, and she would spend hours with the breast pump to only produce a meal for him, she was in a lot of pain but they just kept telling her keep trying the milk will come eventually
She finally took our advice to just feed him formula instead
I ended up having to take care of my niece and nephew for six months (for my niece this was the first six months of her life) the day I brought my niece home from the hospital my grandmother and sister kept giving me all this stupid advice about taking care of a newborn (such as wake her up every two hours to make sure she eats and isn't dead, don't let my cats any where near her because they will steal her breath while she sleeps, etc) and I knew it was bullshit so I just nodded and didn't argue (I'm younger than them is why) but didn't take their advice because I knew they were wrong and tend to be overly religious idiots sometimes

Why would that be a issue you aren't sedated during a c section and usually thats a issue with surgery because you will be sedated and could inhale vomit i just don't understand why that would be a problem if you are not sedated?

my mum had me at 37 so naturally some hormone/chemical levels were higher. while it could've been concerning in a younger woman, it was normal for her age. still, the doctor told her i'd likely have cp and to maybe consider terminating. she was v educated on that stuff tho and here i am, healthy

I hadn't drank a single drop of water for two days and I threw up everything I ate for a week and could barely stand up, yet the doctor was hesistant to give me iv fluids. And the reason? Because if I can't drink a glass of water I could just use a spoon or a straw to drink.

My husband’s family were the ones who were super judgemental about breastfeeding, a week was long enough. At six weeks “is she STILL (breast) feeding that baby?”
MIL diagnosed me with a hiatus hernia because I asked for something to eat because I was starting to feel nauseous and eating something helped. Demanded I start taking her prescription drugs because she knew best, I was 7 months pregnant… pregnancy only makes you feel sick in the mornings.

The only thing about cats and pregnancy/babies you need to worry about is toxoplasmosis which if contracted while pregnant (not if you already have it, only if initial contraction occurs during or right before pregnancy) can cause birth defects. Even then all you have to do to avoid any problems is make the husband and/or pre-existing children scoop the poop for you.

9:10 not entirely untrue. Chronic stress leads to a higher concentration of the stress hormone cortisol in the blood stream which can lead to physical and mental developement problems. Also babies (and nearly every human being) can feel if somebody is stressed and reacts to it.

    3. If a man not eat nauseous inducing food, drinks liquid and try to hold it in, carries a heavy backpack on the stomach 24/7, have people probe their colon regularly and then punch a cabbage through the same colon during an 9 hour period - he will not be a real, loving father

I was told by a random person to get rid of all my animals. When I was pregnant the first time around funny thing is I didn’t have any animals. I just had some dog hair on me from babysitting my brother-in-law‘s puppy. Second kid some jackass saw me drinking what he assumed with coffee and said you’re not allowed to drink that that’s coffee. I looked at him like he was stupid and informed him. Well my doctor said a cup of coffee a day is fine as long as I don’t drink the whole pot. Besides it’s herbal tea jack ass I wasn’t very nice. My last kid I was told not to eat spicy food. Now the person gave me a legit reason for it. She said spicy food will give you extremely bad heartburn. Which admittedly it did give me extremely bad heartburn. But everything gave me bad heartburn including chocolate so I didn’t care. She was a really sweet lady though. Ran her hands over each of my kids eyes and for all you that live in the south you’ll understand that one. I had my kids really close together so they were all still babies. And I apologize for any spelling errors or grammar mistakes I’m on mobile and I have a cat helping me.

Nah, it's just the fact that your pelvis is basically dislocating itself and moving so you can push out a watermelon sized baby out of this teeny tiny hole. I mean it does say that in the bible but, a 2000 year old book that people made a religion out of isn't gonna tell me why it hurts, it just fuckin hurts.
