  • "Jesus Stole My Birth Control" centers around a young girl and her family as they grapple with their grandmother’s cancer diagnosis. Emerging playwright, poet, and lyricist Alaina Messineo leads us on a fragmented rumination about our complex relationship with birth, rebirth, reincarnation, and life after death. "Jesus Stole My Birth Control" explores how we grieve and cope with inevitable life changes. The playwright notes that this piece is “a death wish, a love note, a f*ck you, and an I love you.” Messineo makes art that is healing for her, with the hopes that it may offer healing or a new perspective for audiences.
