That's pretty much all this is but more towards trying to get someone to make those payments again in a nicer way, seat controls gets shut off but you can still drive to work is better than the car just not starting. There will be errors ofcourse and some inconvenience but those will be better than the device decides it is done working or there was a clerical error which results in a non starting car and a missed day at work. If something goes wrong it is better to be able to deal with it after the day at work is done rather than instead of work.

I can only imagine the amount of people that bring their car to a shop because of something stupid like their seat isn’t working correctly. 1) what system will be in place for independent shops know if it’s been purposefully disabled by the manufacturer. 2) I personally make it a point to not charge a customer if no significant time has been spent diagnosing it, particularly if I can’t give them an answer or there is nothing actually wrong with the car. Many techs/shops don’t do that. So now you have somebody that can’t/won’t pay their car bill. Now they will be spending more money over a non-issue.
These things better clearly be communicated with the owner over the infotainment system.

Cars also have tempometers which automatically adjust your speed to the maximum you set. It would be super easy to link those systems up and force everyone to drive at the speed limit. Ofc nobody would do this because it would reduce sales, but if the government forced everyone to do it, customers wouldn't have a choice in the matter

If you bought a car the either comes with a nav system or syncs up to an app on your phone, you probably didn't invest in a holder. Since a car only needs to take you from point A to B. and until they ban all older cars, either by SMOG or making it hard to repair and disposable, we can just refuse to buy new cars.
it used to be cheaper to buy a new car than to fix and repair/maintain an older model. but at this point, if you can do your own repairs and maintenance, it's now cheaper to own older (more than 10 years old) cars.

It's incredibly dangerous and thus expensive to repossess vehicles.

If anyone can reduce the chance of repossession by encouraging payment and/or just repossessing it without needing people to be put in (sometime literal) harms way that is a HUGE cost savings that in an industry like cars WILL go back into the price of the product or financing due to the competitive nature of the industry.
The TLDR here is, If you pay your debts. It's going to be cheaper for you in the long run. If you cant pay your debts, talk to your creditor and work out a deal. Don't ignore the problem till said problem drives off on its own.

Or cause the transmission to not shift, of shift problematically. Everything in these modern cars runs through that subscription managed computer now.
