I actually know Jojo Siwa in real life. One day, I asked her to watch over my house while I was gone, that included feeding my cat. When I returned one week later, I found that Jojo Siwa's body became inhumanly lanky, her arms stretching down to nearly her ankles, and her jaw unhinged like a snake. I found her about to eat my cat, and she had already eaten my elderly neighbor. When I confronted her about it, she said she had no involvement in watching my house, and broke through the window and ran into the woods.

This situation sucks. I remember hearing people say that they were irritated with the childish personality Jojo continued to have and I never had a problem with it. But all of this stuff coming out just makes me so sad. I will never understand why people would want to hurt children in any way. I think that 'hurt people, hurt people' is a good quote but for this situation I think better one is, "Those who do not learn from history, are doomed to repeat it."

being a grown ass adult, I had no clue who this person was and I wish it stayed that way tbh.
It's so sad to see that she's repeating the cycle. As someone who's watched all of Dance Moms to see how bad it was, I'd love a deep dive on the show from you. It's insane how people can side with Abby for everything she did. Some of the moms also rubbed me the wrong way like Melissa, Maddie and Mackenzie Ziegler's mom, because she always sucked up to Abby despite what she did to the kids. I could continue, but I don't wanna bore anyone TvT
Also, I find this whole situation to be very ironic. The Siwas were some of the biggest pushbackers on Dance Moms, with Jess often chewing out Abby for her treatment of the kids and her ignorance. Now, she's doing the same exact things to her dance group that Abby did.

Jojo takes one foot out of her mouth to put the other one in. The audio guys would have to have turned the autotune machine up to 101% red hot! Hearing her singing in the car is like nails down a chalkboard. The record company said no to the music video, so she paid for it and directed it herself - and it shows. Having been in the theatre/tv/film industries for 40 years, it was the worst lit set I've ever seen. Now, generationally continuing abuse she learned from Abbey to new young girls is awful. She sounds like she smokes 100 cigarettes a day! Number #1 rule in entertainment: "Don't believe your own publicity"...
She didn't steal it, she bought it. It was offered to Miley who recorded it but didn't release it. Brit bought it as it went back onto the open market, recorded it and was going to shelf it but now, because of publicity generated by Jojo, she's released it. The song went back out for purchase in that time and Jojo bought it. A song only comes off the market if it's released. Covers have to then be negotiated with the artist who released it. Jojo is not an artist, she's a performer ~ there's a difference

I know her from Dancing on the Stars. So some of us old folks know her too. :) She was fun on that show so seeing how dumb she is and how little she knows about anything outside of her tiny bubble is kind of sad.
P.S. If you look at all the times she talks about the song, she never actually says she wrote it. It's a reasonable assumption from how she talks about it but there is plausible deniability there. I wonder how much of that is a deliberate strategy vs. just how she talks about her work (i.e., very exaggerated).

Honestly I can't help but feel a bit bad for JoJo. It definitely sounds like she got trapped in the cycle of abuse.
It's no excuse, obviously, but it's just like, "wow, this is a horrible situation and there's not even anything to learn from here".
Hopefully she breaks out of it, hopefully viewers learn for awhile to be more discerning, hopefully miss Sanderson finds all the success she wants in the world, hopefully some of the adults will be held accountable. That would be my main take away at least
