Well done Robert. First off, sorry to hear about your friends. News like that always hits hard. I learned a long time ago that it will happen to each and every one of us. I decided that when it comes to dying, I am going to try to make it the last thing I do.
great review on the tractor. All good points. I would like a cab too. For what I got my tractor for and for where it has to go down in my woods, a cab is out of the question. It just simply is too cramped in those areas and the tractor wouldn't fit with a cab. But boy oh boy, when I am mowing my 100 acres of pasture sitting out in the direct sunlight in the summer1 I am thinking g air conditioned cab every moment on those days.
I got my quick hitch with my tractor and one of the first things that I did was to lift the 3 point all the way up with the latch levers in the up position. The left hand lever struck the tail light and tweaked it just enough to bother me. Still works fine, just doesn't fit right. I see that every time I am around the back side of the tractor.

Isn't it funny that we notice those little things that no one else does? Those bug me too. The fender lights not working is driving me crazy. Thanks for watching, Gary.

I have 384 hours on my 3901. I am ready for a 4701. 47 HP. I don't really need it. We raise pumpkins but we are cutting back from 12 acres down to less than 5. It may be the last Tractor I buy. I am 71 years old. I cut firewood but have no use for a grapple. I cut trees smaller than 24 inches. I am getting too old to cut Big stuff anymore.

I love my 3901 and like you, wish it had a cab on those cold/hot days. Going to get a tourniquet for my toolbox, thanks for that tip.

Everyone has their own circumstances but, I wouldn’t consider a tractor without a cab. I deal with all 4 seasons and the cab makes them all more enjoyable. I have an LX3310 myself, thanks for the video

@@PheasantLaneFarm i upgraded from a BX, I wanted a little more loader lift capacity. Only 25 hours but I’m extremely happy so far, the cab is fantastic.

Lots of good info on tractor and safety! Sounds like I need to get busy, my tractor (same year) has little over half the hours as yours. Now I need to go check the radiator hose clamps, have a good day.

  • @heilwoodworkingandmore1892

Great video and review. I put a Rhino hide canopy on my Kubota, just u-bolts to the rops and it is lower than the height of the rops. Really durable plastic and lightweight. I have banged it against tree limbs and its held up well. Price was reasonable. Canopy makes the difference when in the sun all day.I would have loved a cab as well, wasn't in the budget and I know I would break windows in the woods.

thanks for sharing the video, if you really want a cab tractor there's other tractor brands out there that are much cheaper that make the cab affordable .

Thanks for watching. I've looked at a lot of tractor brands. I wouldn't even be against finding an older tractor with a cab and loader. I've decided that I'm going to keep this one no matter what. The size makes it perfect for barn chores.

I have a TLB L2501. I was disappointed with three issues. Lighting , loader performance and exhaust odour.
I have added five LED lights. One forward facing 20” light bar beneath the top of the ROPS with two rear facing pods (on a home made sheet metal bracket/wiring junction box) and two side pods, with a fuse box and relay. ( DIY My Way channel was an inspiration).
Loader lift capacity was only ok, but my biggest complaint was the lack of smooth movement when operating the loader arms. Especially when dropping the boom, as it would drop suddenly, bouncing the load.
I changed the lift cylinders to 2”( x 20 long) diameter bore from the factory 1.77” ( x 18.75) which dlivers 23% more force at the same pressure. Lift capacity is improved, but the biggest benefit is the reduction in lift and lowering jerkiness compared with the smaller cylinders due to the larger volume of fluid required to move in and out of the cylinder.
Minor problem of the swap is with clearance issues at max lift to the boom hard lines because of the greater 2.5 inch OD and extra stroke length. Shortening the cylinder rods to the factory length would cure this (or adding internal stroke limiting blocks ). It is a tight fit in other areas as well and required extending outward the cylinder pin mount on the cylinder end 1/2” to clear the insides of the loader arm mount. All fabrication was done at home on a steel work bench and with a 200A MIG welder. Not job for everyone, but it solved the issues I had.
The exhaust smell may require the unlocking of the fuel restrictions Kubota put in place for the 25 HP catagory, but until I run out of power on some application, it will remain stock.
I have had the same loose hose clamp issues as yours, but it was not re-occurring. Hydraulic leaks however are a constant, and I have had a litany of leaks all over, especially on the backhoe controls, a time consuming and expensive repair (one actuator seal was $75 CDN from Kubota). As they say about hydraulics, it’s not if it will leak, but when. One bucket cylinder hose also ruptured, likely due to abuse, and needed to be replaced. I bought this L2501 used, so some failures are to be taken in stride.

Hello, I'm new to your channel. I bought my Kubota 3301L new right before I retired in 2018 to assist me in clearing our 5.5 acres and it has worked out great. I keep it in the garage and it has approximately 220 hours on it. Fortunately, I have never had any hose leaks (person initially tightening my hose clamps must have been a little bigger than yours :-) ). Regarding your screw pins/bolts securing your ROPs; I have had the same problem since day one. The holes do not line up due to the top half of the ROPs leaning too far forward approximately an eighth of an inch. While standing on the tire, I have to pull the top half forward slightly to line up the holes and at that the pins can easily be screwed in by hand at that point. I'm thinking, maybe you can retro-fit a small shim that will keep the top ROP from moving forward that eighth of an inch? Just a thought. I believe my loader capacity is around 1,200 pounds, but you have to subtract the weight of any implement that you have on it, which brings it down to approximately 1,000 pounds. Cheers!

Thanks for stopping by to check out the channel! I will.have to try that with the Rops bolt. It sure is frustrating at times. It's amazing how much work these tractors can do and how much time they can save. Take care!

Im glad you have one that doesn't disappoint. With the grapple, ive lifted a log that weighed close to 1150. That was according to a log calculator so im.not sure how accurate it was. I've never felt the need to need more on this frame size. A lager tractor would be a different story. Thanks for watching.
