  • In this video I show you the steps I go through to test a 2 stroke pwc crankshaft. Depending on what crankshaft is being checked the tolerance can vary BUT this is a good general way to check it out Thanks for watching

    Thank you! Awesome tricks, I knew there was a better way than just feeling for rod bearing play and listening for noise while rotating 👍

    Hi Martin excellent videos on jet ski engine rebuilt , nice to see someone taking the time to explain things , can I ask a quick question , abit of topic ! Helping a friend rebuilding his Yamaha RD400 D , been chasing an overrun problem , finally got him to pressure test his engine , testing one cylinder at a time , can the labyrinth seal cause a leak from the pressurised side been tested , can hear a leak

    Really appreciate you doing this. One way I check them is I stand the crank on it's end, with the coupler on the crank, and spin the rods. I also spin the bearings and do the air test like you. What diesel motor did that huge piston come out of under your blue tape?

    You don’t rebuild cranks by chance do you? I have a 550 reed Crank that was spinning free then it sat for a few months while my ski was being painted and now it won’t spin. Any ideas or should I just get it rebuilt?

      @@brentwilt197I see this is 10 months old now, but were you pushing against the wrong part with your puller? I was doing that just yesterday on a Suzuki 770 from a 1999 Tigershark. Started pushing on the flywheel itself, then got a bolt in the crankshaft and pushed on that instead. Then the impact worked.

    Super helpfull videos you make! , what are your opinions about a sbt , wsm , or a hotrods crank? i reed alot about them all but i dont know which one to choose , i go to run a girdled head with 35cc domes , a coffmans sizzler and msd enhancer on a 61x/62t, what are your recommendations? I've got a 96 yamaha wave blaster 2 760 that the rod bearing just siezed up on during start up, It didn't hurt anything but is it worth trying to have it rebuilt? Or should I just order one off wsm? And with the rod being seized up is it still a good core?

    • @EricksonMachinePerformance
      @EricksonMachinePerformance  Před 3 lety

      It CAN be rebuilt BUT there are ZERO 701 crank parts at the moment because of the pandemic. WSM doesnt have 701 crank parts or cranks. i have a couple of new cranks on the shelf if you need a replacement. feel free to email me. Ericksonmap@gmail.com i believe WSM will have cranks at the end of the month BUT thats also what i have heard for the last 6 months so 🤞
