Here's a tip that might change your MTB life. Every butt is different. Saddles are a very personal thing. Visit a professional bike shop that knows what their doing and (however funny this might sound) get your butt measured. Specifically distance between your 2 bones. That will allow them to suggest the correct saddle width for your body size. The difference this makes is astonishing. Ideally each bone should be sitting comfortably on each one of the pads that the seat has. Once you find *your* saddle, you will love it forever :)
Thanks Dimitris! I didn’t know that! But what I did figure out was my seat was angled up slightly so it was adding pressure and pushing into me harder than normal; but a new seat is definitely on the cards!
Glad to see you are showing a different side to South Africa than I've seen from the likes of Andrew St. Pierre which involves mostly vast desert roads but you are showing a lush green watery and mountainous section.
Hi again Adrian 👋 Thanks for showing us all these nice beautiful places to visit one day. It's really cool. At 2:10 can you not use the compressor on the Hilux to inflate the mattress? I would also like to ask how good are those inflatable mattresses? Can you get a good night's sleep on them? I'm quite interested in the blow up mattress since sponge takes up literally all the space in the car. I've tried those blue inflatable one's that are quite expensive, but they all seem to start leaking after a while, making you wake up to painfully hard ground under your hip... And how much are they, and where do I find them in Cape Town? Drive safely and stay safe. 😎👋✔👍👍
So that mattress I am using, is a specially insulated mattress so it doesn’t allow the cold to seep through underneath you. A common thing is that people think they leak but actually when the temperature drops they lose pressure, much like a tire increases in pressure when it gets hot. There are a couple really nice mattresses from first ascent, the they are called their Deluxe mattresses; they self inflate and are a great feel on the skin, I have the blue one and they have a thicker red one. They are much more comfy than my green one can but the green one is tiny and for emergencies 👌🏻
A 3.0 Diesel would have been just what was required. Although I remember from what you said earlier in the series that a 3.0 liter diesel was just too expensive.

Look up Keto and intermittent fasting Adrian it helped me I was at 145kg down to under 115kg in a couple of months First 2-3 weeks is the adjustment period (keto flu) as your body adjust but after that you feel like a million bucks full of energy and lighter on the feet.

Hey Aaron, I had been doing a review on the Vagabond teardrop caravan over the past couple weeks by this time; so didn’t want to waste fuel and have have both a RTT and tow a caravan :P but the blade is back on now where it belongs 👌🏻 I have considered the drop sides for sure and do really want a set for when I need to work

How much was your tyre pressure for the dunes?
I was only at 1.2, but I would have had better performance at 0.8; I was just worried about being quite heavily loaded so didn’t want to go too low
@@RoamOverlanding makes sense. When we play at the Atlantis dunes, we do 0.8 bar.
The usual rule of thumb 👌🏻 didn’t feel like debeading out on my own 😂
