I had invited a friend of mine from Poland. But she was so so scared that something wrong will happen with her. And I told her that I will pick her up from Airport, but still she was not convinced. I totally understand. Everyday I have to defend my country saying there are good people. But we know the truth. Its sad how people try to hide the truth behind fake patriotism. I met a German girl in Pune and she told me that people were always staring at her. I was tired of defending for shitty behaviour of these people. Respect yourself and respect others.

This not only happens in North side of INDIA were you stayed but also in Hyderabad city when I was walking with my 15 year old daughter. Guys were just staring at her even when I was with her holding her hand and one guy was about to fall down...... how difficult it is for a woman you can't imagine. This is the only reason why I want her atleast to study in Germany and slowly settle there. Everything else might improve...economically, jobs, but etiquette will never change in India. That can be well understood.

I used to live in hyderabad during high school and my female friend was regularly harrased when she went on a run. People used to scream and say vulgar stuff to indimate her. It was then that I realised how bad things are in our country which i was not able to see due to the fact of me being a guy. I want to move out mainly for my future children.

When me and my friends were in e-rickshaw a guy started hooting at us and followed us to the metro and he followed us till 1 hour it was so scary and it was my first experience outside the city. Hi Bharat, I am thrilled how you gave examples of each incident mostly related to your daily experience, thanks for sharing.
But a few things in particular also in Germany are also difficult, it's very challenging to get a lift, in one incident where me and two of my friends got stranded in a jungle while hiking and no one gave a lift to us all the way and we had to walk for 3hrs in complete pitch darkness.
I guess it's the people who make most of the difference and not the country.
More people who are currently abroad should return back and with them will return humility, etiquette, and most good manners.
I so enjoy having small conversations with the cash lady here in Rewe or Aldi and a small smile exchange. I hope when I return to India, I take back all these and make some changes to Indian society.

I'm also a nationalist person and even I agree that India is not a paradise for women but western media always try to portray India as the worst country in the world for women and even worse than African, Arabian countries and some South American countries. Some political party even want to see India in a very bad light for political gain which is not acceptable. Just like you can see our opposition rahul gandhi have gone outside and wanted foreign intervention in the name of saving secularism and democracy. In Switzerland, there were some posters which showed India in a very bad light in front of each and every people as if they deliberately want to stop our country's progress.

Even if they don't see india as a threat but still they would never let india to be a successful nation like them. I acknowledge about the problems that women face in india and of course we need to something about it but the problem here lies is taking as a tool to damage india's image down in front of every countries is really bad. You can see the western media's perception about india as well. These western countries also send their ngos and missionaries organisation to intervene in india's progress. They are also well funded. These western countries had a big history of changing the government system of many countries. They could this thing to india as well but india is powerful enough to tackle all these things done by these western countries. Problem is problem which we should accept, taking these problem as a tool to damage the image of your motherland is even worse.

Civic sense is not present even in the most of the educated sect of people in India. Taking care of surroundings is a farfetched thought. Life is India is good only if you live in a metropolitan cocoon, and having lived in most metro cities in India, Mumbai seems to be one of the only partially safe cities around. Very unfortunate the way society is heading with lacking basic human decency, privacy, civic sense, ownership to surroundings and so on.

Hi Bharat, I respect your opinion but would like to share my experience of living abroad as well. In Canada there are drug addicts literally in every city, especially near bus stations and train stations. Many of them are psychotic and aggressive. So even as a guy I don't feel safe travelling in the city. I am talking about big cities as well as suburban cities, they are everywhere. Also, given the lonely streets due to low population, the risk of getting mugged or attacked by drug addicts is even more as there won't be anyone to protect you. I have been chased by a drug addict who was yelling and shouting one time in the early morning when I was going to work. Many of them aggressively shout at you as well. In more populated city centres if you leave stuff in your car, your car is bound to get robbed at night. And no, before someone like your uncle says, these addicts are not mostly Indians. Compare that to Chandigarh where I use to live before and I did not see any of this sort of thing. I have never seen people shooting heroin in open in India. In India there are people on the street so it generally doesn't feel that unsafe. I have never seen psychotic individuals talking to themselves loudly just abandoned in the streets in India, at least not where i lived.

I think it is important to educate people about the etiquette of waste disposal. Instead of littering the ground, they should use the dustbin. I have also witnessed the garbage problem in California, USA. Some Indians who go to Germany or Australia follow the proper rules there. So, there is a problem with the system too and the people. However, there are also very clean cities like Indore in India.
At 6:08, I can relate to that story because I live in Delhi, and I see a lot of things happening. I want to stop them, but then I hesitate. They will ask me where else should they throw their trash?
The rest of the video resonates with me as a Delhi resident. I agree completely.

In this scenario you are just thinking of yourself, which you should but should also feel for your Bangladesh citizens and their wellbeing. While the problems exist, running away from them and settling outside will never solve these issues. It's also the responsibility of people like you to come back to your origin country and educate them. I see many of my fellow Indians criticizing Indians after going abroad. But let me tell you they too were so called uncivilized like every other Indian and learnt things there. They just got the exposure to know and understand the value of these things. And now instead of bringing those values and putting in the effort to educate their fellow poor friends they just criticize their mannerisms. I feel you can be a flag bearer of change for your Bangladeshi people.

Bharat it is not only about the education. The upbringing and the way kids are brought up in this country is a crime actually. Most of places in country if a boy is born, from an early age of let's say 12 years old he is taught to stay outside the house more, he grows distant from his mother, and soaks the qualities of his father more. I am not saying he doesn't love his mother. But what was the last time his mother told his son how the boys in her college used to treat her. Mothers don't share these things with their sons but to their daughters.
It is not only the people of villages, dehat etc. I live in Lucknow and I used to go in one of the most expensive school in the city. My girlfriend still attends some seminars in school and where they talk about peace and helping other, such a noble cause right, but some boys there try to flirt with her even thought she rejected it several times. So you can see the upper. middle class is no different. The mindset of boys set by movies and all is if they tease a woman, and flirt, surely she will be attracted to them is a poison.

Not like abrahamic religion who only want india to be ghazwa e hind or a Christian country by converting mass of people. Several countries like Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Vatican City, China, South Korea, Iran, Iraq, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Azerbaijan, Qatar, Kuwait, etc are not secular minded. While the problems exist, running away from them and settling outside will never solve these issues. Criticizing is easy my friend but solving them requires an iron's heart. It's also the responsibility of people like you to come back to your origin country and educate them. Many people in India themselves know these problems here but we need a solid approach to counter these problems. I know many people who criticize India after going abroad. But let me tell you they too were like many common Indians who threw garbage on streets, did toilet on city roads, stalked girls(mostly Bollywood influence) and many more that I know you know very well. But once they went abroad they got the exposure to know and understand the value of civic sense. And now instead of bringing those values and putting in the effort to educate other Indians they just look down on them for the things they themselves did while in India. This is where we need your help in making India a better place for everyone.

@@BharatinGermanyNo Bharat I would never want anything wrong with your family. My point is today many Indians are getting aware of the importance of civic sense. I have seen improvement in people whenever we ask them or make them aware about the importance of these things. This will create a positive change. I have seen rickshaw drivers scolding their fellow drivers for overcharging foreigners and asking them to be respectful to them. I have personally asked people in my locality to stop burning waste (was happening despite govt asking people not to do so) by telling them about pollution and how it can affect their children.(While I accept the problem still persists in many parts of India but a small impact can still be made). It has reduced to a significant extent. I have also written to my local Gram Panchayat for waste disposal problems in our area and they replied by saying that they knew it was a problem but they have already started working on a new place where garbage can be dumped and segregated. I must admit that the problems still persists at dumping and segregation steps. But just criticizing and doing nothing makes no sense at all. What you are suggesting and many people in the comments are suggesting is that Indians lack any civic sense and can never get better so let's just leave India and settle abroad. This actually makes it worse as there are millions of people working hard and honestly to make a change and you are just bypassing or ignoring their efforts by putting everyone in the same basket. What I expect from you guys is to acknowledge that not all Indians are like you said, and there is scope for improvement when you provide solutions to how people in India can learn something from your experience in Germany, regarding garbage disposal problems, healthcare problems, stalking issues, etc from Germany. That's how things change for the better. I saw your video with Dhruv Rathee and I admire Dhruv for the same reason that he gives solutions on how we can learn from others and change aspects in India for its betterment. A person who can just criticize and lack the courage to impact change will lack the courage to change aspects of German society when something needs to be changed there as well. Look at Mahatma Gandhi. That man not only criticised the British policies and fought for people's rights in India but started in South Africa. Let's try becoming just 1% of the great man. That's what people who make a change do no matter how small.

"Koi bhi desh perfect nahi hota,
    Usey behtar banana padta hai"
German, Japanese, Chinese, etc., do not criticize their countries while holding foreign passports. They have the courage to take responsibility and make efforts to bring change from within, which is why they were able to rebuild their countries after WWII.
As for India, we have a vibrant democracy with 1.4 billion people, having been colonized for over 200 years. There are patriotic individuals who work tirelessly day and night to bring about positive change, which is why we are now the 5th largest economy. Development requires time, as seen in every civilization; it is a gradual process. Instead of criticizing India from abroad, come here, take responsibility, and contribute to positive change. Only then will people respect you.

Honestly whatever the person wrote in the mail are all actual facts and what is still happening right now in India. Along with that, the things Bharat told actually makes sense as well. Most prolly he is going to get a lot of criticism/hate for this video, but all these are the truth about India right now. Being an Indian, it actually feels sad to see our country this way but as years go on the situation only gets worse. A lot of people go out of India to get a degree and do some work and then plan to come back to India to settle down. This is no longer the case right now coz despite a lot of ppl here in India are really helpful and welcoming (super kind as well), there’ll always be a minority of ppl who are creeps. That minority is growing every single day sadly. Hence ppl who leave India decided to do that permanently so as to have a better life in another country.
If you still feel like I’m saying lies / stuffs made up, ask any girl what they feel like here in India. Trust me, you’ll get a lot of traumatic experiences they went through in their whole lives (be it via online or in real life)

Hello Bharat, sorry for the poor experience! I get that there are multiple instances of people getting harassed or facing tough problems in India. On the other hand, we also have plenty of positive/friendly/homely interactions in India. It's the probability distribution we are looking at with an abnormally huge population size. One thing that youtubers belittling the Indian population or culture should really understand is that individual behaviour cannot be guaranteed and that does not represent India. Whenever an initiative (Swachh Bharat or Atithi Devo Bhava) is launched in India, the penetration is bound to be low because we have a huge population with individuals having a close connection with their own communities and societies. No matter how good the implementation is, the pentration rates for a nationwide message are going to be low. For the bad population that exists, we also have a large chunk of population that provides the warmth and positivity that most of the foreigners are not used to in their own personal life, forget about their country. If you choose to stay and settle out of India because you had a problem, that's entirely your choice. Coming up with a video every now and then to explain how India is struggling against the rest of the world is not helping the cause. We have plenty of videos available like that on the internet from foreign media. The real question is can you come back to India, propose solutions with your acquired skillset that will help in addressing the issue ? If not, then just stay out of it maybe and focus on marketing how great Germany is.. which is not wrong. If it's working for you, good enough! super happy for you. A gentle reminder that it is not easy to get out of the colonial sufferings, hangover (product of roughly 800 years of experience) and the behemoth population challenges but India will get there soon :) and you my friend would be making vlogs about that as well.

To anyone reading this, please do your research and identify the pitfalls and merits properly.
