I think this man is spot on so many fronts- happiness/life balance, about diarrhea in India. He has a lot of wisdom. The food is very different and is not compatible with your gut bacteria so it will take time to adjust.
No bro I've been to Hong Kong and US, it's more to about cleanliness and civic sense in India...this apart we are great

I'm from northeast India with maximum Southeast Asian elements.
Within India itself if we eat extra chilli (Other spice has nothing to do) in different states of India you will have diarrhoea. Plus if you don't drink lots of water then you can have serious viral fever, headache and body pain.
Stop eating salad at hotels
It’s true. When you go to a new place have the local yoghurt for first 24 hrs… it will introduce the local bacteria into your system in a safe manner
I was once cycling and i fell , this bunch of teenager from India who is sitting nearby quickly ran over and help me and they keep asking , r u ok uncle ..

Even i once had an accident and people came quickly to help me, my hand broke, guy took me to hospital stayed with me till my friends came

8:52 he's right, 95% of the seats offered to my mum on the MRT are the Indians, my mum was very grateful for this when she had a knee injury and had to travel to get treatment. Now that she's healed up well, she accepts their nice thoughts instead and tells them to take back their seat because they paid for it too, and needs it more than us (often they're otw back home after work or had a long day).
That is sad, as Indonesians who commute with KRL always force someone to give seats to the priority passengers. I quite often wake up someone who is sleeping because older or pregnant women take KRL. This habit comes from my awareness and experience of many working trips to Japan. So many elders that you can not ask someone to give their seat to a mom with kids or a pregnant lady. ( That is so sad)
I guess Jabodetabek Workday's users are pretty savage, asking/waking up someone to give their seat to an older, pregnant woman, disabled person, and a person with a toddler/baby (regardless of the tribe and gender). If stubborn people don't want to give up their seats, just send DMs to Krl/mrts; the security will help ASAP.
@@simsgazytech2013It is not sad, it is understandable because everyone had a long day and everyone just wants to sit and rest. During off-peak hours, the "needy" seats are usually empty here. We can't judge people by appearance, someone who seem young and healthy might have health issues that we have no idea of. Everyone is a paying customer, everyone has an equal share of taking the seat. 😉
offering to the needy is great,but some elderlies wanna stand,n refuse the seat offered,n some say its just 2 stops...u can notice more often in a train with available seats n some elderlies r standing!i've seen pregnant lady stand,while there were free seats too...indians/banglas even offer any ladies regardless of age...coz,indian culture believes women as weaker than men,n NEED to be cared for...unlike in Japan,offering seats to elderlies offends them!its like discriminating their strength,n also-elderlies r discouraged from taking train during peak hrs!

when you had health problems (physical or mental) and you found the people surrounding you were very understanding and helped you generously with all they had, that was the time your mindset changed and also tried to understand other people better. you feel more grateful and respectful to other people regardless who they are.

Diareha occurs due to change in food content cause suddenly your stomach cant empty the things you had 1st time in your life,diareha and india is also one of the propogandas tht western people started againts us,their is less than 1% of extreme poverty in india right now and now after the govts schemes which are going on i can bet on this that no person in india is starving or not getting atleast 2 meals a day,the infrastructre of india is getting better than 1st world country,just look at the channel name johny's desk on youtube you will get what i am saying,some things he said were partially wrong,but he told it in a real nice way not to offend us,but just pointing it out

Rightly said, The diarrhea is not because of air or any such thing. It’s a person’s micro-biome in the gut. The ecosystem of digestion enabling bacteria are different across people living in different regions and based on the food they consume.

His observertion of foreign workers giving up MRT and public bus seat to those who need it is absolutley true, not many Sporean do it. This is also my observersation.
After a lifetime of living abroad because of my parents jobs I decided to come back & settle down in India. I like the thought that I'll be contributing a very small part in re-building 21st century India. Anyone who knows our history knows we have gone through constant societal restructuring every few generations. And now is the post-western/post-capitalism restructuring. Thats why we get to see so many remnants & different phases of the past just sitting and collecting dust. Plus there's a lot more room for economic growth when you're a developing country; lots of opportunities for jobs, new architecture & just in general new development all around. Also I don't know why but I like the chaotic-laxness, the sweet to spicy, the old & new etc etc. It's diversity that's been bred through ages of being on this land.

He came to India for work in 2006 and i went to Singapore for work in 2006 I lived for 15 years there and came back to India. I think we both took great decisions.

Even Indians living in same state ,will find something new whenever we visit another place , every 100 Kms there are change in food ,tradition, language dialect etc
I understand Andy's predicament as a working adult with a diploma holder in Singapore as I am in the same shoes too. But I stuck to the quest of acquiring better academic qualifications, transiting from manufacturing to IT back in the early 90s. I spent 8 years to study part-time while working full-time for my diploma, degree and masters. Eventually I did managed to transit into IT and work as a senior IT engineer. But my journey didn't end there, I managed to qualify for skilled migration to Australia so I took the plunge to move. That was back in 2006, since then I spent another 7.7 years to study part-time for my postgrad and PhD in AI while working full-time as an IT engineer and graduated at age 55. I am confident to say that the difficulty that I face in Singapore, motivated me to move and seek better avenue to improve myself given the lack of education opportunity that is available to me back in SG. Reflecting back on my past, I always think that I can be of something better, and I took the arduous path to actualize it despite facing a multitude of obstacles.
Wow, this was a reminder for me to be more human, look at life differently and much slowly, be open minded and adapt to changes. Need more people like you

This man is absolutely correct about few things, I am from Bangalore and when I went to Singapore I could not sleep well, it is hot and humid, all time AC drying u up, No sleep no good digestion and no seasons. It was hard for me and I could stay only 2 years after which I ran back to India.
Yes, indians dont realise the good things about india. Bengaluru has good weather ..but city is not well planned or maintained. Imagine if singapore had Bengaluru weather and karnataka land..it would be #1 place. Singapore has utilised its resources..extremely ..well 😮

He's speaking the truth. He spoke about the difference between North and South India and about different states that means he understood India very well.
He has, in very simple terms, explained what real development is and what is needed for India to become a vishwaguru. Human development has to be prioritised, making sure that people have education and the skills to work, not just in south but also in northern India.
I'm learning a lot from Andy who really has got a lot to share about the meaning of life, the journey and, success etc. He's so inspiring because he managed to breakdown those minute details about success which I myself could not have thought out.
As a northeast Indian completing my schooling and graduation in Kerala kochi and Chennai TN, I i totally agree with his words. I have stayed in north India for some years, the main difference is the way how to get along with the locals. South Indian is easy to blend into social terms and its hard in north india. Superior and inferior thinking are more into North Indian.

I am an indian who moved to singapore ten days ago... And already noticee that the locals here dont give their seats even to very elderly people in thw mrt or buses.. We indians have a different level of respect for elders... Our food is amazing... Already missing indian food and so many things here... Although singapore is cleaner and more organised but its so expensive cost if living is very high

Indian food scene has changed a lot in Singapore, in 1990s Indian food in Singapore meant Roti Canai, Ayam Kurma and Ayam Mutarbak.
Nowadays in Singapore there are fine dining Indian restaurants serving Warqi Paratha, Kakori Kabab, Basket Chaat, Aaloo Chaat etc.
Roti Canai, Ayam Kurma and Ayam Murtabak are not Indian but Malay. You cannot find them anywhere in India. Murtabak, for example, may have originally come from Yemen (also called ‘Muttabaq’).

Wrong. Roti canai is known as pratta and a staple breakfast in Kerala.
Then why not call it paratha (or parotta as in Kerala)? Also, paratha and roti are 2 different things. You cannot mix up the two. It’s like calling Banmian Mee siam. They are both noodle dishes but different.

I think India has moved ahead and what he describes about India may have been true ten or twelve years back since then things are becoming better and better.

India has become a hell hole on a anthill, when compared to 30 years ago, or for that matter even 20 years ago. I have to think and come up with something to even describe to compare it to 50 years ago. People have different perspectives about progress and what is better. Rural places in urbanized states with higher HDI are some what better. Rest of India is much worse and horrible. Net Net, there has been no progress to its constituents, which is of their own making.

Today India is no more the basket case dependent on foreign doles of monetary or food aid.
India is the largest milk producer,second largest grain producer with record production of 315 million tons in 21-22,3rd largest egg production, 2nd largest vegetables and fruit production,pulses,sugar cane,ground nuts.
In terms of purchasing
Power parity(PPP)India is the third largest world economy.
India has the second largest auto mobile sale,it's motorcycle,scooter brands have replaced other brands in many markets.
It' has bulging grain stocks equivalent to it the country's three years requirement.
You have no idea of India's abundance
The country provides free grain,pulses,cooking oil to it's 800 million people who require the help,free housing,electric connection,drinking water,free medical treatment, to those need help.
India is now the third largest Pharma producer,it produces top class Medicines at very affordable prices.
With its skilled doctors and support staff India has many large hospitals including govt funded AIMs at very affordable rates,so much so that many patients from so called rich western,middle eastern countries are flocking to india for their treatment.
During COVID India successfully vaccinated it's 1.4 billion people twice that is mind boggling 2.8 billion doses in six months with India made vaccine.
And also supplied the critically required vaccine to 101 countries including US,Australia,New Zealand and other European,African,South American and it's neighbouring countries.
Nobody says there is no poverty but it's a matter of time before India will successfully over come it.
After all it's not a joke to get over 200 years of loot of 200 trillion pounds by colonial powers.
@vedants.vispute77 When you have trade deficit? How can you accumulate forex reserve? It will be going down, if there is any. When you have a growing GDP , your employment rate cannot be going down for any non technologically advanced countries. Why India is still getting financial aid from UK, IMF etc? Why 800,000,000 Indians seek help for food alone ? Why is Indian government clamping down on any dissenting voices? In a happy society, there would only be a few and would not need draconian laws that is being passed to shut down anything the government doesn't like.

He has naturally absorbed the philosophy..its in every being in India. He is eastern..its natural for him. We are easians after all. Its easy for Indians to understand Japanese and Chinese then germans and French.. we have same values. Mindsets..spiritual grooming
Being an Indian Expat, I was looking for something like this for a long time , to understand how do they view such a country with broad bandwidth or say 2 or multiple extremes of economy , culture and positive/negative transformations. He is tremendously intellectual on what he shared. One thing I personally learnt the most in Singapore, may be its predominantly only in my company cause its a robotic company tranformed from startup , here People dont whine / badmouth behind , no pointing fingers without clarity and solution seeking without excuses with resources. That aside Pretty much recent generation (whoever got the job they wanted) are so workoholic and towards salary now unlike 2009 he was talking about, the software developers in India are bit more grinded / stressed , wheras in this island Country , from shop keepers to fintech Employees, its racy day always.

10:07. Sundar Pichai is from Chennai but graduated from IIT Kharagpur, just as I did 15 years before him. Educational loans are available at low interest in India. It used to be 4% back then in the '70s. The telephones were not available easily or cars not affordable back in '70s unlike today. Education in prestigious government premium schools are subsidized heavily.
I too got education loan from Indian Bank for 2009 to 2013 window. But the interest rates are too high.. I got loan at 10.5 then it got increased to 12.5% when I closed.
And then I got personal loan from HDFC for 10%. I feel education loan should attract lesser interest rates compared to other.
@@jaideepts4911 well, I took out the loan in 1974-79 time frame. The inflation back then was not what it is today and hence the interest rates were also lower. Demand for those loans were also lower. In the entire country we only had 135 engineering colleges including the IITs . I couldn't get a loan to study abroad back then, which is all too common now. The foreign exchange reserve was anemic and hence paying for GRE and TOEFL involved lot of redtape.
Having stayed in Singapore more the 4 years and batam around 2013 .. it still amazed me there was so much cost difference .. in everything ….. but yes Singapore should opt for free tourist visa , of course it has to be regulated with heavy penalty etc … It will give tough completion for other south east Asia tour capital
