Koil definitely knows a lot more then we think, seemed like Buddha/Koil hinted on streams that NoPixel will receive a lot more benefits then other servers.
Eh im sure they've been told more but they would be stupid to trust any of it. Even if buddha n koil have been a close talks with take two/rockstar, history has shown companies like them play ppl all the time, it wouldnt be smart for anyone to believe everything a realtor or car salesman says to u to.
Listen I'm sure buddha n koil know this as they're not going to shit (publicly) on the deal either, its simply a wait n hope scenario but yeah to anyone smart, this move is really concerning.
@@tihseht472completely disagree. having come from the “car salesman” side of this (working for PlayStation, Riot, etc), a lot of these companies will still also act in their best interest.
any strategist worth their salt can tell you that UGC is worth investing in and developing. There are a LOT of eyes on Epic right now, Minecraft, Roblox, etc

With that I've laid out several different ways this could go n even if its well intended right now, sure doesnt in the future as i wish i had a nickel everytime some smartass new suit came into a company n changed it all for the worse cause I'd been rich in the 90s.
Politics plays into it more the bigger ya get so anybody thinking this is a 100% W is a fucking idiot but hey thats humanity at this point, too stupid to evolve past our animal instincts with the intelligence evolution gave us.
@@tihseht472 they can have certain level of expectation. Nopixel is rockstar biggest free ads. Gaming company paid streamers millions to ads their game and nopixel have thousands doing it for free.

53:06 LOL, I think the assignment that blew up DWJFT & NoPixel/Koil's relationship was Koil assigning DW to do something for NP's Red Dead Redemption 2 servers & DW really didn't want to do it...

I heard DW did a bunch of other work he wasn't assigned to do instead & wanted paid for the work he did & Koil wanted him to do the work assigned to him & wouldn't pay until his assignment was at least worked on... Now Onx is out & a failure & there is at least 1 major law suit happening (it may be over not sure)
I really like your optimism, Blau. I want to see RP expand across genres, and if this acquisition is successful and lucrative, then the possibility of high quality RP (well UGC in general, but RP as a part of that) in other games/genres expands dramatically.
That being said... i could see them pulling an activision, and gut the souls of these systems to their core in favor of easier monetization. It doesnt make sense to speculate, since we simply don't know what will happen at the end of the day, but I do feel some concern.

Rockstar have been strict with some things in the past if it interfered with them getting money, like straight up servers that charged people for playing on them. But other servers they left alone because it was a sort of advertisement from the game. I hope that with this purchase the go the way Mojang did with Minecraft and fully embrace modding. Mojang has hired multiple people from their modding community. The same could happen for some modders in GTA. But I'm thinking about it for the future where they could do it from the start with GTA 6.
Koil reminds me of a Whiskey Distiller. You need to do things now so that 10 years from now you’ll have an interesting product to “sell” please get Ramee on the podcast for one of these subjects.
Fascinating conversation! The future of the metaverse may be on Apple and Metas hardware but the content will be shaped by gaming and why not a studio that has been building their world and refining their game mechanics for the last 10+ years. I can see a future where GTA 6 online has a cross platform session choice for a Private (Modded) Server where building off the base game anything is possible. Just going to be interesting to see how R* monetizes this approach…
oh man i could start a whole different podcast to tell you why it won’t be on Apple or Meta’s hardware… VR and even AR are highly overrated, you don’t need them to have a meta verse. it’s telling that some of the largest metaverses now are in some of the lowest fidelity games
Rockstar can't own FiveM in it's current state, the intellectual property lawsuits would be insane
I mean, unless they want the PD vs Sanguine Isle to be the end of 3.0 and inteoduce 3.5 I don't mind

rockstar still needs to be able to police their own sht before geting in deeper with rp i foresee more problems w modders ruining more and more stuff and Rockstar maybe maybe not dealing with it depending how it affects bottom line.
So talking about Console over PC. I have GTA on both. But I play more on console than PC. I also have fiveM on my PC and now been in the nopixel public servers a few time. I'm new to the whole RP thing and would like to get into it. Only thing I would like to suggest is maybe some Tutorial video's on how to do some of the basic stuff. That way new people getting into it don't have to feel like they are asking a million questions to learn something.
But you was talking numbers. More people watch gtarp over gta online by far. I stream my gta online and don't get many views at all. But I'm also new to the concept of streaming also.
i think in the future we gonna see twitch drops event in Nopixel from rockstar/twitch this is 99% gonna be real shit (some clothes or livery for car(s)

thought bout it for a hot second and im now of the sneaking suspicion that rockstar just wants inside knowledge of the inner workings of modders so it can screw people over better. hope im just being paranoid but i fear it to be true.
Yeah ssaabs take makes sense, take two could just take it all down however the backlash would be massive. I haven't finished the pod yet but im surprised/well not really i guess cause niether koil or ssaab would want to bring up 2015 when take two eent after all modders for gta.
The real concern is that take two will be too greedy n destroy rp from within to destroy it n then they believe gta online rev numbers would all go up. Its stupid but thats generally how suits think unfortunately n when there's a new one coming in which in a public company there always is a new one, that guy wants to put his stamp on the company n modding is going to get walked all over even if right now the intentions are good, the next ceo probably wont be that way. Thats why its more likely then not imo that this will be looked at as the first step of roleplay mod communities death.
what it means is that koil no longer has to rely on his server producing good rp and can rely on rockstar funding to continue the shit rp that exists on nopixel and not worry about how the server is run his disconnect has already been obvious he just wants to reap the rewards without actually doing the work.
I feel like rockstar acquiring [Fivem] might mean that they are more then closer to releasing GTA 6 maybe this is a plot to get the modding allowed in game like rust and cs:go has.

His enemies still celebrated though because he enjoys driving with specifically NoPixel's driving mechanics & a controller & since their complaints about controllers got support removed Goofy doesn't get to enjoy his time in the server as much because of it...
Which I think was the real reason for the anti-controller campaign a few people went on, they don't hate controllers, they hate Goofy... They definitely didn't know he'd get faster on some tracks, but they should have known controllers don't make a big enough difference to give them a chance of winning, only locals can do that, lol 🤣🤣🤣

@RoleplayPodcast I'm jaded. I'm hopeful they don't, but I don't have a lot of trust that they wont just see dollar signs and then the entire system becomes monetized.
I see a microtransaction store, where to unlock certain outfits, they have to pay real money and not just in game money, same with cars, etc...
it means that gta rp as we know it will be dead is what it means...
