#Anime #Manga #Podcast - Krátké a kreslené filmy
scarra and peter RAW ?!?! for free??
good choice of word
Scarra: I was once a professional player back when dinosaurs roamed the earth, and now I am streaming as a dinosaur.
Finally, representation for all us fake fans out there
9:33 *CORRECTION* Apothecary diaries started as a LN(light Novel) back in ( *2011* ) the manga started more recent around ( *2017* )
Unironically, the Egghead Island arc in One Piece right now might be my favorite arc since the timeskip.
1000% Egghead Island is such a good arc. Idk how to describe it to people though other than just saying 'when it starts escalating, it never stops'
Best weeb duo!
arigatou
Don't worry peter, I too love Silver Spoon and it's one of my top 5
Silver spoon is a great anime if you're into slice of life stuff.
@@SilverHandLr well not only that but alot of people have no clue what's it like doing agricultural work and this was a fairly decent way to show it. That and I love slice of life stuff.
silver spoon is the only anime could make me move from my bed just to try to make a well made pizza ahahaha
Aside from Yukinobu Tatsu (Dandadan) who you mentioned, the other assistants who worked with Fujimoto on Fire Punch and Chainsaw Man are Yuji Kaku (Hell's Paradise) and Tatsuya Endo (Spy x Family).
And the newest assistant is Tooru Kuramori, who just started Centuria and it's a banger.
I don't really watch streamers and am only really interested in manga discussions, happened to get recommended this and was pretty impressed with how much stuff you guys mentioned, not just the mainstream manga. Literally raised my eyebrows hearing you talk about Uchuujin no Kakushigoto as well as the Tachiyomi drama lmao, agreed with a lot of the opinions here too and can tell how much you guys like manga. Seems like some great variety manga content which is really fucking rare on youtube, subbed
The Pool is an interesting new series from the mangaka behind Ajin, one of the best action manga ever.
To contrast, I'm here because I just like listening to these guys talk, and love their vibe from time to time since forever. Point is, very cool to hear this hits with actual manga fans too!
Some small corrections:
9:29 Apothecary diaries initially started as a web novel (free online) was written as a light novel, then adapted to manga and now adapted as an anime
15:31 Violet Evergarden is not an original, but based off a light novel (Kyoto Animations, studio for VE, is known to hold LN competitions and adapt the winners)
Love the podcast regardless! Got lots of good recommendations :D
Apothecary diaries actually started as an idea in the head of its creator way before it got released as a web novel. Also, Violet Evergarden is considered a Netflix original. It kind of doesn’t make sense to make corrections if they’re not going to be correct.
@@coasterthekid8867 netflix originals doesn’t mean anything, they didn’t fund the production of VE at all it was simply bought off kyoani after they completed the anime.
all stories starts off as an idea in the creator’s mind so idk where u r going w that comment
Frieren is quickly becoming one of the anime greats that elevate the source material by a significant margin. I was already a fan of the manga, but the anime really gets me in the feels and both of the Japanese and English dubs are excellent. Get ready for a feels trip if you pick this series up in either medium.
The last time offlinetv had an anime podcast it didnt last very long
Lets hope this one lasts a bit longer
Scarra wearing the Dressrosa Luffy shirt
i really made sure somebody caught that before commenting myself hahah
Scarra and Peter mistaking the flex seal guy for Billy Mays is not something I knew I needed today.
I always loved listening to peter, scarra and celine talk about anime and manga on stream and the same as a podcast has hooked me in by a mile. I'm really excited for the future.
MORE PLEASE !! I love how you guys know just enough about every series to be relatable 😭😭
Really enjoyed just the casual banter. Skeptical on longevity of this as there is only so much anime /manga content you can go through but looking forward to the direction / topics going forward.
I mean this is just the first episode, I'm sure they'll find their niche and there are always interesting topics in anime and beyond I mean trash taste pod is almost 200 episodes
@@InternetsPedestrian that's the exact reason for my scepticism. Trash taste members have gone on record to say an anime only podcast is difficult due to content and being gated behind seasons.
Trash taste alternate between anime focused and none anime content constantly. But they've been around for years.
I'm all in on the Scarra X Peter arc and I'll come along for the ride, however long or short it is.
@@Gameblocked It's also kind of an un-said thing, but the anime community, like Twitch audiences, is self-limiting. You can't really grow a bigger audience out of it. Trash Taste has a big in-built audience, but it's hard to grow out of that, whereas somebody like Chris, who appeals to the same age group but with a more normie audience has a longer career path because he won't have to still be talknig about anime and hentai in his late 40's if he's still making videos.
Love that you guys are name dropping such iconic mangas in my reading history and not just focusing on mainstream mangas. Ive also more often been more of a reader and watcher. Currently, im reading more webtoons vs manga, though i still have some mangas i keep up with currently. Cant wait for more episodes.
Quotes of the EP
"That series sucked ass, but I read the whole thing."
"What is the act that produces children though?"
- Peter
"Boruto is a great example where umm- there's- it's bullshit."
"The art studio pumps them out like KIDS."
- Scarra
I enjoyed this a lot! I mostly enjoyed the raw talk about random things as I don't personally read or am interested in manga. I hope they add a section for other random topics!
you don't know how many times i wished you guys would do an anime/manga podcast this is literally perfect
Mushoku Tensei is also based off a light novel and I think that is over which is what Scarra may be thinking of
I'm gonna love this so much!
Another series people should check out from Hiromu Arakawa is her adaptation of the Heroic Legend of Arslan, especially if you enjoy grand medieval war stories.
He hyped this up on stream for like the last 2 months.
worth
subbed instantly, good duo! Hope you two keep this podcast up!
So excited for this podcast! I swear I could listen to Peter and Scarra talk for hours
Loved the new podcast, the name is very ad hoc.
The Mushoko tensei story is originally a light novel and that one is done.
I wonder what you are your thoughts on the last 2 episodes of Solo Leveling.
Hoping for many more Fake fan takes in the future.
Definitely would recommend to watch Frieren and Witch and the Beast. Those are together with Apothecary dieries definitely the biggest surprises of winter season.
About My Hero Academia... I think it's gotten good lately. I think it slows down somewhere after the Festival Arc, but it picks up again. Things that have been set up since the beginning of the series are now coming back. You've got character introspection, commentary on hero society, and intimate interconnections between what it means to be a "hero" and a "villain."
As someone who had dropped it a while back before picking it up again, I'd say give it another chance.
Enjoyed the vid.
💚🧡❤️
I'm glad you guys decided to do this podcast! Can't wait to listen to more episodes (this just popped up on my suggested so I'm behind a few episodes). But, have you guys read or watched Bungo Stray Dogs, Durarara or To Your Eternity?
I only watched the anime for Beastars but I can already feel that by the last episode. Legoshi eating Louis still doesn’t make sense to me!
What a great first episode! Currently reading TBATE (The Beginning After the End), a light novel, it has a manhwa too before but it hasn't been updated for awhile. A great read honestly.
Man, I was super sad when they announced the main artist for the manhwa was leaving, shit was just getting good as well!! Hopefully they can find a replacement this year because the few sub stories they’ve been releasing this year are not it lmao
@@jakemcculloch94 Yeah, it was such a cliffhanger that I couldn't wait anymore so I went straight to reading the light novel. Just looking forward to seeing new characters drawn.
this is litterally a dream come true, exact content ive wanted.
I started reading sousou no frieren a long time ago because Scarra briefly mentioned it in one of his videos. I'm thrilled for this podcast!
Excited for this
Love this already. To answer the question I’m proud to say to be up to date on kingdom and my non-mainstream favourite is Kimi wa Natzotoki no Ma Cherie. A history, mystery and romance manga written by Natsumi Ito.
Bro I didn't know this existed, I'm pumped! Some corrections For both Apothecary And Mushoku, they were both LNs/WNs. The manga isn't the original. Oh and the entire point of Mushoku Tensei is that the MC isn't likable 😅.
OMGGG IM HYPED!!
I really don't know you guys, but still, I subscribed and had fun with this episode. Keep going you both have a bright future for this podcast.
fun fact: silver spoon is ludwig's favorite anime
no just double checked its welcome to the NHK
It is still the most underrated series oat
I can’t believe I wasn’t recommended this day 1!!
Omg I haven’t thought of silver spoon in years. I loved that series, it warmed me.
I read a lot of manga and don’t know almost any of the names and don’t remember the character names. When someone talks to me about an anime or manga I’m like “hm idk that”, but then they start telling me the plot and I’m like “OH that one, right.”
Bit of correction for mushoku tensei, the original light novel is done and the manga is a adaptation of the light novel
I enjoy the first episode! Please give us more :)
semi-mainstream recommendations:
- Skip & Loafer (manga, but the anime is amazing too!)
- Dungeon meshi (favorite manga ever, the ongoing netflix anime is gr8)
- Witch Hat Atelier (reading through it now! Really great stuff)
@Peter, I also loved reading Silver Spoon too! I didn’t know the artist also did FMA but it makes total sense now.
gonna check out Silver Spoon sounds super introspective which is right up my alley!
If you need a guilty pleasure recommendation, Boy's Abyss is a train wreck that I can't look away at.
Blood on The Tracks also fucked me up too.
Yoooooo Eyeshield 21 was something else 😂 it was definitely done on another time😂
So excited for this duo pod!
Also to add on to the female sushi chefs, a lot of the time femalea weren't allowed to make sushi because our body temperature is apparently higher than guys so when handling rice or raw fish in our hands is different to guys or something like that, all according to my male friend that went to japan to train as a sushi chef 😂
I can't believe they're this deep into manga and not consider the existence of light novels when they talked about mushoku tensei lol
Lesgoo scarra! New endeavor!
Also, silver spoon is great, legit inspired me to want to learn some farming too
I'm glad you guys talked about Shangri-La frontier because I love it and other VRMMO manga/manwha but I don't like it when they get trapped/isekai'd into the game world. I find it more fun when you get a real world chapter every now and then. I felt that Shangri-La frontier does this great with both showing other games and real life stuff when the characters are logged off.
I absolutely love that they play other games outside of just Shang-rila Frontiers
My recommendation for now since i read a lot of manhwa is double click, it is a great esport manhwa with a realistic mc whose weakness is old pc and motion sickness. It's fun to read and really reflect about some drama when you're working in a team about a goal in this case winning a highschool esport tourney to became a pro.
OMG Please keep this going, I need a manga podcast. and with Scara and Peter no less, I'm all in...
Aw I love Silver Spoon, but I actually only ever watched the anime. I want to read the manga now after hearing how passionate Peter is about it. I love this podcast by the way.
I really enjoyed the dynamic between Scarra and Peter in this new podcast. I knew Scarra read a lot of manga but had no idea Peter did too, I don't particularly watch their streams only know of them through OTV. I can see why Scarra doesn't consider himself a "weeb" as he just reads manga and watches the occasional anime, he also doesn't go out of his way to buy merch from the stuff he reads and or watches.
I like the name of the podcast as some people can be fans of an anime and or manga without having to know each and every little and obscure detail about it. As far as knowing characters names with the more anime and manga you comsume the harder it is to remember their names unless the characters have unique designs, names or play an integral part to the story.
I think another reason series do those thinly veiled IP names because they have them available for product placement ads, but don't want to fully advertise if they don't get a deal. It's also kind of a shoutout to other companies that they could potential product place. It's not *that* popular but I've seen some pretty unexpected ones like the Carl's Jr. placement in Alice and Zoroku and the Levi's chapter of Witch Watch.
Wow I only just found this and I have so much to go through, yay. I feel like there were so many things they mentioned as "manga" but actually started as LN, I feel like they should dab into them as well. Like when scarra said mushoku tensei is done, I think he was thinking of the LN.
Couldn't help remembering Eyeshield 21 when reading ch 255 of Jujutsu Kaisen like it was a response to Panther
Mushoku tensei has a light novel that's done. The manga is still ongoing
Loving this podcast so much
I don’t watch either of them at all and was suggested their podcast. Good job algorithm I love it
I loved when you and scarra talked about anime and manga on stream so now that yall came out w a podcast is fr a blessing 🫶🙏
LOVE this!
this is already one of my favorite podcasts ever
As someone who has binge read more manga than all of my friends combined x10, I agree with the favorites - maybe that dates me since I did end up becoming one of the stronger American youth Go players back in the day lmao Haikyu was the first anime for me that elevated the manga.
You may have already read them but I recommend; Searph of the end, Black Bulter, Bungo Stray Dogs, & Skip beat (just for Peter).
Highly recommend for Manga Don't Call it Mystery. Its a Josei without Romance. The art style is super unique and the mysteries keep you hooked.
hell. yeah. 2 of my 3 fav. streamers.
it's so crazy to hear these two talking about girls of the wild because i quite literally have never met another person who has read it in real life or online in my area nobody really reads manga or manhua
Holy they did delivered a podcast, a rough one but still good.
On god i am with peter about silver spoon, it is the best coming of age manga and anime that i watch and read religiously every year. It's a found family type and the author delivered it really well except for the rushed ending which is understandable since she had a lot of life issue going on while creating it.
Peter saying re:zero is brain dead truly hurt me
Finally a podcast for the people ❤❤
The moment I heard you guys say the MC from Mushoku Tensei gives you an ick, you guaranteed me as a viewer of your podcast, cause, HARD SAME. Now I'll keep watching the rest of it, lol
hope they keep this up. Scarrra
I agree with y’all on eleceed, however I kind of stopped reading it for a bit and then never picked it back up again.
the igris vs sung jinwoo is fr animation of the year so far..no joke
I remember Peter essentially introduced me to manga/hwa, recommending Solo Levelling back in the playing Midsummer Madness on repeat on stream era, good times
OMG Peter! I enjoyed Silver Spoon. I actually agree with you on that. I also agree with Scarra on Hikaru no Go being one of my top mangas to read.
Only 30 min in so I don't know if they brought it up, Peter mentioned urakawa who does fma and silver spoon, she's currently doing daemons of the shadow realm (yomi no tsunami), it's really good
SO EXCITED FOR RAW ACTION WITH SCARRA AND PETER!!!
I used to watch a lot of anime. I had watched so much of it that my anime list dwarfed The Anime Man himself (Joey from Trash Taste). But I fell off and manga eventually took its spot as my go-to for Japanese fiction. I gave light novels a shot too, but only got through a few of them.
Even though I call myself an anime fan, I really haven't watched much at all recently. I'm a fake fan too.
Wait this is so fun!
omgggg this reminds me of Lily and Xell's old anime podcast The Filler Arc which I loveddddd!!!
Hikaru no Go! what a throwback, loved the anime. eyeshield 21 also slaps, and YES silver spoon so gud
Enjoyed this episode🫶🏻
If any of y'all are ever interested in diving into the shoujo manhwa world, The Reason Why Raeliana Ended up at the Duke's Mansion is one of the good places to start imo
please do an episode on the breaker it's so hard to find fans of that manhwa nowadays
9:32 apothecary diaries actually is a Light Novel original which will be printed in english soon :D
I tried a place in DC called Kappo, female sushi chef named Minoru Ogawa that is currently running. A special wagyu menu instead of fish to make the sushi. Heavenly.
I would love it if you can list all the mangas/animes you've mentioned, maybe in the comment section or description, so that we can come back to it and pick which ones to try
Had to pause and comment for The Breaker mention. The first in the series was so good and got me into reading manhwa.
is it called wind breaker or just the breaker?
@@mayurmadiwalar2157 Just "The Breaker" and it has 2 sequel series 1 of which is still ongoing
@@mayurmadiwalar2157 wind Breaker is a really good sports manhwa. The Breaker is the martial arts manhwa they where talking about.
It's the greatest guys trash talking bad series for an hour, you absolutely love to see it
I fuck with Toriko ALOT! Also have either of you ever read Gantz? I feel like not much people talk about it. Its definitely my favorite manga! (We don't talk about the anime adaptation). Last thing, Do you guys read manhuas or read Chinese cultivation novels? Because I honestly think cultivation media doesn't get much love/attention.
Dude Dandadan is actually extremely good!
Despite not being moral icons, yall are relatable af. Great podcast.
I loved Silver Spoon. Watched it like 3 or 4 times and finally decided to read it. It’s such a satisfying story beginning to end
I've been reading Homunculus and Slam dunk recently, a few volumes into each theyre so good. My favourite mangaka is urusawa all time manga is Monster, thrilling story.
