How do I build a stylish casual outfit? How do I look good in comfortable clothes? How do we improve our outfits by 1% to start building better personal style?
You can improve your style incrementally with tiny improvements. You don't have to start dressing completely differently or change who you are. It's one thing to make an effort for an event or when you're going somewhere... it's another to make the DAILY effort of getting dressed and looking good in your everyday outfits. A personal style journey means showing up to get dressed for no reason, every day.
Let's start with 3 outfits you probably already wear some version of all the time. Developing our personal style, we still want to feel like ourselves and keep a low-maintenance spirit in a lot of cases.

Hi Alanna, I love your video. Nice to see someone who is antipodean in their approach to outfit building. I like the idea of a hair slide as well as your look with the jeans, headscarf, and woven basket best, no doubt because I live in FNQ Australia. I absolutely need a Pickle Club Cap!! Tooo funny lol! Starting to play with my clothes again and love a minimal approach! I love the layered dress, leggins, Birks and beanie look too!! No chance I'd have any opportunity to wear it here though!
I do sometimes miss Ireland for the shite weather, because of how much I love to layer in my dressing often 😆 winter time feels like a treat here in NZ because it is so fleeting (at least to me)
The pickle club is the BEST 🥒 haha I laugh every time 😅
My favourite outfit was the slip dress with leggings, but I also thought you looked so cute in your jeans and stripey T!

My favorite is the birkenstocks and beanie with the slip dress and jumper over leggings look! My second favorite is the lady in white look. Have you heard of the 75 hard style challenge? It's a good one for getting dressed every day & exploring looks.

Hi, Alanna!!! I hope your family is feeling better now! ❤ Your leggings outfits were SO fashion and so creative, I loved them! I don't know if you follow Hannah Louise Poston, but I highly highly recommend you watch her video on how to use colour to optimize your wardrobe. Essentially she proposes that any given outfit will feel much more put together and intentional if it's composed of only two colours (shoes and accessories included). I have a VERY basic, simple, casual style, and I have found that principle to be an absolute game-changer. It seems to instantly, magically, elevate even the most understated outfit. I thought a lot of your outfits in this video were quite evocative of that! Please keep these videos coming, they feel so relatable and helpful! :)
Ooh, love her - haven't seen her colour video yet, though. Everything that lady says is gold ✨🤌 I have heard other ladies talking about the 3 colour method/rule, so now I'm curious that she's pared it back even further 👀
