- We use spacers throughout the deck to keep our boards even. However, we usually leave the ends loose and don't put them there until the end. Why would you do that?

Excellent explanation
Appreciate the explanation video!
Good tips!
Question Dr.
I see decks made with what appears to be a flush spacer, at the connection between the deck boards. They appear to close the joint -helps keep out debris? or even moisture. Who is that?
Thank you for the explanation. What is the drill bit you are using?
$25 apiece at some retail outlets, and you need at least 25 spacers to efficiently lay down decking.
25x 25 = $625 plus tax. OR, you can cut 3/16' masonite board for one-time use as gap spacers.
$6.75 online
Has cortex changed how they do their plugs? Mine are in a little baggy that I have to dig into. I want the sheet like he’s got!!
Ask your dealer for "Collated Cortex" - instead of a baggy, they will come on a strip. You'll pay $10-$15 more for a box, but I'm told it's very much worth it.
What’s the minimal amount of spacing can you have with these type of product?
1/8" is the minimum recommended by AZEK.
Regular treated 5/4 round decking boards are going to shrink enough as they dry without using those.
About 7.00 at menards I found them and use them all the time.
I have this space, but using trex board, it usually has 1/4" gap.
I have a set of 1/4”to 3/8” spacers as well
Kreg makes a set of 1/4 spacers you can find
