    That's a great idea for the corners where the fascia meets. You could actually use decking scrap, mitered and routed , for 90 degree corners. Thanks for the idea!

    Good tips!! I used a cheap plastic square and drilled holes in it for a drilling template.

    The fascia looks great! I like how you space the face screws evenly to make it look prettier. We would work well together, as I do similar things with exposed fasteners.

    When I mark the quick square for laying out facia boards I mark the square and just use it for facia board lay out.saves time and all my screws all the same straight lines.i found if I have different marks from others board widths I will end up starting a screw on the wrong mark.

    Do you have a video on how you did those folded mitres?

    What size Smart Bit did you use on those fasteners?

    If I go flush with the fascia too the top of the deck too hide the cut ends of the composite boards, should I use a clear silicone too stop water from getting behind the fascia boards ?

    I am redoing my deck and I have used many of your tips and they have worked very well. Thank you. Currently I am getting ready to put up my facia. Do you put anything between the joist and facia like G tape or spacers, or do you mount the facia directly to the joist face?

    Do you use impact driver on everything?

    Would you use this same method for installing fascia for the stair risers as well? I just realized that cortex is not applicable for 1/2 fascia board. According the Azek, you can use 15g hot dipped galvanized or stainless steel nails as well.

      I’ve been using Timbertech 7 1/4” multiwidth planks for stair risers and first layer of side fascia.

    So on the walnut - are you using Dark Brown...to match...seems weird - there color matches on boxes -

    Great tip, did you make the corners or are they factory material?

    Did you put a cut underneath the deck boards to prvent water from traveling back?

    How much overhangs is there for the picture frame deck boards?

    • @drdecks
      @drdecks  Před 3 lety

      It depends on the type of install. This one has Dexerdry installed so we overhang the decking 1 1/2” past the frame.

    It’s now 3/4 inch thickness. Then need a video where you use plugs on Timbertech Fashia! AZEK fashia.

    Timbertech Installation instruction say to use construction adhesive between screws. Why do you not do that here?

    • @kobelarry
      @kobelarry Před 4 lety

      I have never glued in between the screws.sounds like a pain to do.i have never had a problem if screws are 12” or less.

    • @drdecks

      I GTape the outside rim joists so I don’t see the benefit of using glue.

    Dr deck is there a reason you can’t glue?
