Thank you for sharing your collection. I have come full circle. When I was a lad these toys were the fad. Now they're again a fad. The one marked "CHINA" may be from a 21st Century re-issue--I picked up a few sets from Amazon that were recent vintage.
If I weren't so lazy I'd use cardboard and poster paints to create appropriate buildings to go with my re-issue furniture sets and figures, just like in the old days. These sets were in the various Christmas mail order catalogs (Sears and others) and in the back of Boys Life magazine and comic books.
When I was in the Army I'd take a shoebox full of these things with me during maneuvers and use them to build sand tables for operational briefings and for planning defenses and attacks. Boot camp used plastic 54mm figures to train and test recruits in fire team formations and tactics. Sometimes these toys had professional applications. I even used those gaudy neon colored Marx Army Men to represent different elements--which sort of offended the seniors until they understood that the different colors for "our" side represented the Security Element, the Fire Support element, the Assault Element and the Exploitation Element--just brown and green were not enough colors! Of course, I did use other Marx sets--police, cowboys, firefighters, even a few frogmen. I had spacemen but didn't use them--never had need to use a Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Recon Team. There were official sand table kits on inventory but those kits had to be purchased with unit funds and the toy store Marx Army Men were less expensive.
You promised that you'd have more sets. Do you have police, firemen, spacemen and frogmen sets, too?

Thanks for watching and commenting. That's really cool to hear that you used the figures with a tactical application like that. I do have more old figures to show of different types ( I have a past video where I showed some scuba figures and others that may interest you), and new stuff also. Thanks again for watching and for leaving such a great comment!

These really are cool. I'm no expert, but I have been working on a collection of unusual and old army men. I have plenty more to share in upcoming videos. I started looking into replacing my old toys a couple years ago and I really wanted the Marx Navarone playset again. It's this giant plastic mountain with everything you could think of. Well I wanted it back, original box and all. But of course it's pricey. Lots of other guys want Navarone back. So instead, I started nickel and diming old loose figures and vehicles. I'll make more videos, some of it is pretty cool.
