i am a young black male and have started to prospect to small black owned businesses, the results have been better than any other niche audience i have tried to reach. thank you for this tip! i am pretty new to the final expense game and hope to one day be a top producer in my area, your videos are helping me get one step closer to that goal. life changer!
Hi Ryan, great to hear! Business men are great to prospect, not only because of their higher incomes and common lack of benefits, but also because they respect other business people like you who work hard to make a living.
I did the same thing, still compiling my list. It’s good read your experience was well! And impactful for the community.
What are some businesses you’re prospecting? A friend of mine told me to do employees at like nursing homes, assisted care, facilities, daycare’s, etc. I’m just curious as to what other businesses I should be looking at.
Great videos David. This one hit home for me. I’ve been in tele-sales to small businesses for over 20 years. I think this is my market.
Awesome! It's a good one to focus in.
Great video
This was excellent advice. I especially like how you mentioned small business owners being more receptive to hearing what we have to offer.
Thanks!
As always, excellent advice. Yup, selling large policies to small business owners and selling their employees was the most lucrative insurance selling I ever did. Your advice about getting a mentor is spot on.....find someone selling to that market, and work for them for a few months to 1) see if you like it, and 2) see how to approach business owners. I always just walked in the door. Business owners are making buying decisions all day. They are used to buying, and the make decisions faster (in my experience)
Good points. Business owners are in the business of making quick decisions and trusting their gut. Good reasons to sell to this market for sure =)
Thank you for sharing your experience!
Welcome!
Thanks David!
Welcome!
Great stuff!
Glad you enjoyed!
Very astute and sound logic. I enjoyed this input. I am looking into selling to businesses for a company and it seems very promising yet takes a lot of research and effort along with the training
Glad it was helpful!
@@TheDIGAgency thank you
Watching this video in 2022. Thanks for the resource.

Thanks
Thank you for watching =)
Hey David Love your videos what books have your read in this niche?
Almost all of them - here's a list of the ones I've read - davidduford.com/best-insurance-sales-books/
Great info, thanks. Would you say that there are any niches in particular that seem to be the easiest to connect with?
Hi Tracy! That completely depends on what your personal inclinations are. And that's unique to each person.
I like old folks, especially the "salt of the Earth" types. That's why I like final expense.
However, some prefer working with business owners or younger people. Other products would be a more natural fit for them.
Do you have any idea of what type of socio-economic group you feel at ease with the most, and naturally seem to do better with?
The likelihood there is a market to sell insurance to those people, and you should put your efforts in targeting them.
@@TheDIGAgency Makes sense, thanks! I love the "salt of The Earth" people but my insurance company doesn't have a lot of flexibility for the over 60 crowd and therefore, I want to work with folks before they hit 60 for final expense. And I really do get along with most humans... I'm a mom, navy veteran, breast cancer survivor, etc... But, having me to put some thought into what groups I feel "most" at ease with is a good idea. Thanks again!
What company do you work with? Also, what suggestions do they have regarding which market/niche you should target?
This is great. I’m getting my non-res because my fathers employer is a new trucking company with 5 employees who is asking about group accidental death. Is there a minimum number of employees needed for a group rate? And is AD available for truck drivers? I’m assuming the business owner would have to decide if he wanted to contribute or just offer via payroll deduction.
Hey Steven - I am sure there is, but do not have the experience to point you in the right direction.
This is great info! I'm a P&C agent working with small business owners in my state. What is another name for personal income protection on the P&C side? I know business interruption protection is included in a BOP, but what about JUST income protection? What would that policy be called?
Disability insurance.
David Duford Thanks!
How would I go about learning to sell to small business? I would love to do this right out of the gate I just obtained my licenses and I was going to get into final expense but I would love to try this? What imo would be good to go with in this type of insurance sales?
Do a CZcams search for David Kinder. He has more experience in this niche than I do. Alternatively, you can find a career agency like New York Life, Northwestern Mutual, etc., and work with them. They commonly work the small business field and have training commensurate with what you're looking to accomplish.
If you know anyone in Alabama or Tennessee that needs some house painting done please let me know
Does offering Final expense to businesses make sense?
No - better to sell term or fully underwritten life products.
