Didn't it stop because Jesus died on the cross so the blood of animals was no longer needed? His blood paid for our sins.

Yes! That that very idea resounds throughout the NT. It is especially highlighted in Hebrews 4:14-10:39, but especially 6:1-8. The first Jewish followers of Jesus found in superfluous to continue offering sacrifices in the temple after Resurrection Sunday.
The first century Jewish community found it impossible to continue sacrificing after the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple in AD 70. Even if they really wanted to back then they couldn’t. Even to this day they can’t. Neither would God have approved of them. God wants them to embrace Jesus as the Messiah. Those who persist in their unbelief, i.e. rejection of Jesus as the Messiah, would eventually modify their beliefs and practices.

For his believers obviously... But those who don't believe that Jesus was our atonement still do sacrifices, even Satan worshippers do, Jews believe in GOD but they didn't accept the Lord Jesus and he is the only way to the father or heaven ..... It is sad. Very very sad
I think it would be fair to say that modern Judaism is more Talmud-centric than Torah-centric. It also is very recent, with the oldest texts being from 800-1000 AD.
Jewish scholar Gershom Scholem offers the earliest date for the beginning of modern Jewish history: 1492, coinciding with their expulsion from Spain after the Reconquista. Most if not all of their current practices come after this date.
Hasidism is only dated to the 18th century.
Just some important things to keep in mind when exploring this topic, I know for many Christians (myself included) we assume that modern Judaism has a great continuity going back to the time before Christ, but that isn't the case.

ROMAN 5:13-14 , " 13.(For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
14Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
What is sin ?
1 John3:4 , " 4.Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
Paul stated that until the law ( what law ? ) , sin ( the transgression of the law of God ) was in the world ( sin came into the world when Adam transgressed against the law of God , by eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil ) , but sin ( the transgression of the law of God ) is not imputed ( which means , represents something undesirable as been done , caused , or possessed by someone ) when there is no law ( what law ? ) .
This law is not the commandments/instructions of God ; which includes all the covenants , but a sin sacrifice law that came at the time of Moses .
Romans 3:27-28 , " 27.Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.28Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law " .
IT IS THE LAWS/COMMANDMENTS/INSTRUCTIONS OF GOD , THAT PUT YOU IN SIN , IF YOU DISOBEY THEM .
2 TIMOTHY 3:14-17 , " 14.But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
15And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

SACRIFICES AND OFFERINGS HAST BEEN REQUIRED SINCE THE TIME OF CAIN AND ABEL , BUT NOT FOR SIN ; MAN HAST ALWAYS BEEN REQUIRED TO LIVE BY FAITH .
GENESIS 14:18 , " 18.And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.
WHAT IS THE ROLE OF A PRIEST ?
HEBREWS 5:1-3 , " 1.For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins:
2Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity.
3And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins.
AARON AND HIS SONS ARE MEN , OF A WORLDLY SANCTUARY ; WHICH WAS FOR THE ATONEMENT OF THE FLESH/BODY ( WORKS ) , NOT THE HEART/SPIRIT ( FAITH ) ; WHICH IS REQUIRED BY THE FATHER FOR TRUE REPENTANCE .
MELCHIZEDEK IS OF A HEAVENLY PRIESTHOOD , A PRIESTHOOD OF FAITH ; CIRCUMCISION NOT MADE BY HANDS .
THE SIN SACRIFICE OF ATONEMENT THROUGH THE LEVITICUS PRIESTHOOD , WAS GIVEN TO ALL ISRAELITES WHO WENT INTO THE COVENANT WITH THE FATHER IN THE WILDERNESSS , AND REFUSED TO LIVE BY FAITH : IT WAS AN ATONEMENT OF WORKS FOR THE FLESH/BODY , THROUGH THEIR EARTHLY MEDIATOR MOSES ; TO KEPT GOD FROM KILLING YOU , IF YOU DID ALL THAT WAS REQUIRED , IN THE TIMELY MANNER IT WAS REQUIRED ; THE SIN WAS NOT FORGIVEN .
THIS IS WHEN HE GAVE THEM THE ANIMAL SACRIFICES & OBLATIONS FFOR SIN .
EZEKIEL 20:24-25 , " 24.Because they had not executed my judgments, but had despised my statutes, and had polluted my sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers' idols.
25Wherefore I gave them also statutes that were not good, and judgments whereby they should not live;
KING DAVID UNDERSTOOD THIS :
PSALM 51:16-17 , " 16.For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.

JESUS CHRIST CAME TO DO AWAY WITH THIS ATONEMENT OF WORKS , UNDER THE PRIESTHOOD OF WORKS .
HEBREWS 7:11-12 , " 11.If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?

THE LAW THAT CAME UNDER THE LEVITICAL PRIESTHOOD WAS THE LAW OF ANIMAL SACRIFICE & OBLATIONS FOR SIN .
WHAT PRIESTHOOD ARE WE UNDER TODAY ?
HEBREWS 5:9-10 , " 9.And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
10Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.
THE HE IS JESUS CHRIST ; WHICH WAS MADE PERFECT AT HIS RESURRECTION .
DANIEL 9:27 , " 27.And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
GALATIANS 3:16-26 , " 16.Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
17And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.
18For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.
19Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.

JESUS CHRIST CONFIRMED THE COVENANT MADE TO ABRAHAM IN GENESIS 12:3 .
THE LAW OF ANIMAL SACRIFICE FOR SIN CAME 430 YEARS LATER ; AFTER ISRAEL STARTED BREAKING HIS LAWS , AND NOT REPENTING BY FAITH .
ISRAEL AS A NATION CONTINUED IN THE LAW FOR SACRIFICE & OBLATIONS FOR CLEANING , PURIFICATION , AFTER THE RESURRECTION OF CHRIST ; BUT NOT FOR SIN .
THE GENTILES WAS NOT REQUIRED TO START THIS CIRCUMCISION OF THE MANNER OF MOSES , IN ACTS 15 .
THE LORD REQUIRED WHERE THESE SACRIFICES MUST BE CONDUCTED ( THE TEMPLE IN JERUSALEM ) ; SO IN 70 A.D. , WITH THE DESTRUCTON OF THE TEMPLE , THE SACRIFICES ENDED .
THIS WAS THE REASON THAT THE GOD OF ISRAEL DIVORCED THE NORTHERN KINGDOM OF ISRAEL FROM THEIR EARTHLY HUSBAND MOSES ; BECAUSE JEROBOAM REFUSED TO HAVE THE PEOPLE GO TO JERUSALEM , TO GIVE SACRIFICES THROUGH THE LEVITICUS PRIESTS .
1 KINGS 12:25-33 , " 25.Then Jeroboam built Shechem in mount Ephraim, and dwelt therein; and went out from thence, and built Penuel.
26And Jeroboam said in his heart, Now shall the kingdom return to the house of David:
27If this people go up to do sacrifice in the house of the LORD at Jerusalem, then shall the heart of this people turn again unto their lord, even unto Rehoboam king of Judah, and they shall kill me, and go again to Rehoboam king of Judah.
28Whereupon the king took counsel, and made two calves of gold, and said unto them, It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem: behold thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

Animal sacrifices was never ordained by God Jer. 7:22-23, Isaiah 66, Jer. 8.8.

Jewish people stopped sacrificing animals because Jesus Christ became the sacrifice not only for their sins but for ALL sins of the world. He became the sacrificial Lamb for sins of the past, present and future. That is true love for all mankind. 🙏🙏💝💝🙏
