When it comes to the debate of the Child Sacrifice, I think it's important to understand that we have multiple accounts of this happening from multiple cultures. The Israelites talk about child sacrifices to Moloch and Baal by the Pheonicians, or Canaanites as they were called. This god took on the appearance of a great bronze bull. Athenians were forced to pay tribute in the form of Children or youth to the island nation of Crete, a powerhouse at that time. They were likely sacrificed to their gods, and this is where we see the Minotaur myths come into play. It is possible that they adopted many of the Phoenician beliefs. Other Greek cities wrote about child sacrifice in Carthage and later the Romans did the same. If it was just a couple of instances of this, then we could assume that maybe things were being exaggerated or they were being painted negatively. But when we have so many instances of this bull-like god taking youth sacrifices from so many different cultures over such a long period of time, I think it becomes difficult to defend the Phoenicians and it begins to paint a terrible truth about some of their religious ceremonies.

As someone who uses PCR for a living. Why does this documentary put so much weight on her female result, when she had 12 results were no DNA was retrieved? I like what the one guy said afterwards, there needs to be repeatability to make sure that she just didn't find her own DNA contaminating the sample.

You are basing your belief on the story that christians called Jesus "God" but it was popular at the time to use that word to identify a leader. Romans called their emperors "God," as well. It doesn't mean god was actually some guy named Jesus, and it doesn't mean god was an emperor. It was just the language at the time.
However, modern christianity relies heavily on the concept of "God" sacrificing his only son--Jesus. That's child sacrifice. You may feel a certain way about it, but it is no less a blood sacrifice than what was claimed in this video.

For anyone who has read the Bible carefully, the Israelites during the time of the prophets were constantly reprimanded for child sacrifice which they adopted from the Phoenicians (Canaanites). In fact, in Deuteronomy, Moses commands specifically that none of them follow the inhabitants of Canaan in causing "his son or his daughter to pass through the fire" to strange gods. There are many other references to this effect (i.e., 2 Kings 16:3, 17:17; Jeremiah 32:35). Most notably, however is 2 Kings 23:10: "And he defiled Topheth, which is in the valley of the children of Hinnom, that no man might make his son or his daughter to pass through the fire to Molech."
It is actually surprising that this is not acknowledged, but, I suppose it is to be expected from documentaries that are mostly concerned with allowing controversy to continue and keeping both sides happy. The apparent disconcern with data that does not fit the narrative always makes these sort of documentaries disappointing.

Romans often left unwanted babies to the elements. Greek fathers had the right to kill children they deemed to be defective. Before then it was still part of some traditions, especially in Canann, where Abraham offered his son and even in Ur in Iraq where Abraham came from, to offer one's first born child to Bal, El, or Moloch.
Abraham wasn't officially a jew at the time he was willing to offer his son Isaac. He was doing what many people did in that region. That is why he didn't question God about offering his son to him.
It is only after God says he wants Isaac to be a 'living' sacrifice ( because Isaac will be the first Patriarch of the new religion that will be Judaism). That is how Judaism started.
When Isaac tried to leave the land of the Cananites, God said no, because he ( Isaac) was a living sacrifice dedicated to forming this new religion ( Judaism) and that he ( Isaac ) had to stay in the land to which he had been dedicated to ( Canann).
But Abraham expected to really give his son's blood to God in the same way many people did by tradition in Canan. He did not question it, just like people there did not question it.

They simply moved to symbolic sacrifice of a male child. It's called circumcision and allows one to have a son despite the sacrifice having been made. The foreskin is the embodiment of the child and offered as the sacrifice.
