    Out of all the build videos I've watched, yours is probably the most enjoyable.

    Nice video. The other type of Mace insulator the goes between the plenum and runners is a better option, I think. Good mods. Just shows what a few bolt ons can do. The best bang for buck is the cat back sports exhaust. 250 bucks. Sound nice bit more power and nice economy gain. Dropped 1.5 litres per hundred just with this mod K&N filter Stainless leads and platinum plugs. Really enjoyed your video. Thank you.

      @@cassarindustries_wheelwerk i dont like the sounds of this mate,
      You convinced me to keep my vy sedan because of these vidyas....im not getting that ute i told ya about.. .i did however source me a shortened fan belt (serpentine lol) to delete my aircon,and im looking at relocating my alternator to where the air con compressor fits, probably a whole different belt?

    BOARING STORY )Thinking doing a budget build on a 3.8, nothing wild, my idea after some maths the fact is I want to find gain in outsourcing other holden parts. So far ve calais twin exhaust off the 300kw factory model. Since it a 2.25 . I believe it to contain near the same volume as nearly a 3inch is MAYBE a fraction smaller. Main Idea is its for a more powerful car that is also n/a. I use cats aswell since they'd b newer than my 20year old ones. As for the two o2 sensors I think both banks should run the so just use what I need or maybe wire the sensors together to see if it can be tricked into just seeing the info it needs. Maybe some ss rear mufflers for fun stuff. Unsure on the intake I would like the front facing like on the 3.6 but don't think that intake is going fit. So probably bigger tb,new coil pack oem or better if cost is in similar bracket, hi temp leads. I believe these are like the 5ltr v8 and just cook factory leads., iridium tipped plugs if available for this engine. little costly but they do last. Had them in an old 87 supra back in the day, really cleaned up some random miss fires. 2nd hand v8 cold air intake off trade me. Keep in my first 3.8 I've touched, and I come to these conclusions through logic of what I understand. Still this is going to be cheap and only looking to improve. I understand headers will be need ect aswell probably separate trans cooler just for safety it will be driven till death.And aswell as some things I've missed there will be no turbo or supercharger staying n/a just looking at throttle response and good low and mid power ..... so you Australian lads let this nzer know if he's on the right track.

    I think there was a chip that mace sold as well to go with that throttle body. I can’t really remember bloody good video mate 👍

      Thanks man really appreciate the feedback.
      From memory I think the chip was if you run the wider spacers. There’s a thicker version, and also a spacer for the lower plenum. But I just had this one which is why I chucked it in

    • @fertiliser6914
      @fertiliser6914 Před rokem +1

      @@cassarindustries_wheelwerk nah he’s right mate, the chip is for the autos running the bored out TB. I’ve got a manual so haven’t bother with a tune yet but in a an auto you need it tuned to changed shift points mainly

    • @cassarindustries_wheelwerk
      @cassarindustries_wheelwerk  Před rokem +2

      Well it’s transmission has been modified to shift manually anyway so no drama there

  • @shookones2216
    @shookones2216 Před 3 měsíci +1

    Do you need a tune with the Throttle body and the Air Intake box?

    • @cassarindustries_wheelwerk
      @cassarindustries_wheelwerk  Před 3 měsíci

      Ideally yes. But it is drivable without a tune.
      If you contact mace engineering they can send you an ecu to suit what mods you have, but you will need to get the ecu linked to your car (I have a video showing how to do this). Think they charge around $350 for the ecu. It’s not as good as a proper custom Dynotune, but still they get the job done
