  • Welcome to The Campaign Moment, The Washington Post’s weekly politics roundtable to help you keep track of the biggest developments during the 2024 campaign. Senior political reporter Aaron Blake, who writes The Post’s new newsletter by the same name, and “Post Reports” host Martine Powers sit down with White House reporter Cleve Wootson this week. They talk about how President Biden responded this week to the campus protests over the war in Gaza and what that could mean for his support, whether voters are paying attention yet to former president Donald Trump’s criminal trial in New York related to a hush money payment to adult-film star Stormy Daniels, and what a story South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem reveals in her new book about killing a dog could mean for her prospects to be Trump’s running mate.

In Japan she would be prosecuted under their 1973 Welfare and Management of Animals Act.

I know why Noem published this story. I tuned in to see if the Post knows why.

    Ali Velshi.
He's been an excellent journalist for quite some time. Routinely covers economic issues and how they affect everyday working people in an honest way. It's a miracle he's lasted in the corporate-owned media this long.
    We're lucky that he has!
    Nice interview!

Why do millions adore liars? What do they represent to them?

Yeah .... I'm not inspired by the protests.
These one-line memes do not come close to helping any of our national issues.
They are far more complex than a single, political catchphrase.

Why write about this, Gov. Noem You wanted to be a macho but comes across as a adulterer, sadistic, and a liar on the No Korean story. Why Lie? The question is how many more weird things have written about? I guess we could write Cory L, Kristi's husband, and the North Korean Leader

I've got a difficult question for you folks: at aroud 4:50 you say "One of the things..." (that protesters ARE protesting about...)
Well, that there "things" ends in S, right? So it's plural. So you got it right: you said "One of the things are...."
How could any of us have imagined that "one" is singular?
Just strange to see the things people will believe.

That’s like saying I would abort my own child at home with a clothes hanger instead of at a clinic in a more humane way since in the real world babies end up in foster care rather than adopted en masse. Oh wait that’s exactly what republicans wanted.
      Honestly stop 🤡

Dan, Relatives of mine live and work on ranches, real ones, here in the Intermountain West. Kristi's place is a restaurant and hunting lodge for rich folks. It's a show ranch. Real ranchers have working relationships with the area vet, they use them alot. Animals are expensive and you have alot invested in them so you want to take good care of the animals from an economic standpoint. From a personal stand point you have to live with yourself, so you avoid cruelty to your animals and might even ask the vet to come out put a sick animal down for pity sake. Kristi Noem is clearly a psychopath, not just for shooting animals, but for writing about it. Kristi is trying to profit off of her cruelty.
