9:23 Acshually 🤓 that's not how math works, 2km x 2km equal 4 square kilometers in area for a square. The crater isn't measured as a circle here with a 2 km diameter, it's 2 km each side so it is measured as a square (hence why they even say 2km x 2km, which implies square shape because the formula for a square's area is side x side). And as we know, the diagonal of a square, which is the line that connects a point to its opposite point across the middle, is always longer than the square's sides, so the game did not lie to you, in fact.
You know id really like to see you elite gymnastics guys try out kickboxing or muy thai training. No need to endanger yourselves, I'm just curious how quickly you could improve. Youve got all the tools already, flexibility, strength, high body awareness, balance. Like yall would be perfect for martial arts lmao
If a gymnast already has one named after them and they compete another would it be named after them again and have two tricks with the same name or what else would they name it?
I feel the need to do this just so there can be a move that 90% of the world can't pronounce because my name is unpronounceable by a lot of western folks
That double hop looks like my worst nightmare. Uneven bars was my weakest event and I nearly re-broke a finger when trying out a new twisting skill. I’ll leave that one to you youngsters. Stay safe!
Seeing Dr Epke 'Flying Dutchman' being included, time to watch his 2012 London performance again lol. Watching this one on rotation, never fails to pick me up!
On the hop double full on high bar, what are the deductions for completing the skill at less than 90°- and would the increase in difficulty by adding a second twist be worth those deductions?
The hops on the bar are one of my favorite elements! Crazy to see the guys even attempt a double! Looks impossible to throw perfectly horizontal over the bar.
I wish there were gyms and artistic gymnastics available for older people. Such a great and fun way to stay in shape, active, and flexible. Can you imagine 70 year olds doing back flips, handsprings and handstands! No reason they can't train regularly and do it just for the joy of it
There’s a very obvious reason - gymnastics is a very joint based sport. The joints degrade with old age, which is why arthritis is so common in the elderly. Very few old people have good enough wrists to be swinging around on a high bar.
@@somebodyuknow2507 that's because there is no gymnastics training gyms available currently for people in their 30s or older to strengthen their muscles and use their joints except for doing yoga, which isn't really enough. 🤨
@@elsiebert2273gymnastics also really wears on your joints, so if there was a gym for 30 y/os, people wouldn’t be there long. That’s why gymnasts retire very young. It’s a nice sentiment but isn’t practical.
@@IDislikeMacaroni I suspect you are incorrect and have little evidence to back up what you are saying. The void of opportunity to train is the likely limiting factor, from what I've seen. There's truth to the old adage, "Use it or lose it."
@@elsiebert2273 You're right that regular exercise can strengthen the joints. But aging is still a powerful force, and most joint injuries are permanent, in contrast to overusing a muscle. My concern is that the risk of serious injury, such as broken bones, goes up hugely when attempting things like backflips at age 50 vs age 15. Remember it's not just the joints degrading, the bones become more brittle too. Also, most gyms allow older people to be members, so i'm not sure why you're saying there's nowhere to do normal weightlifting/other exercise. Weightlifting, by the way, is one of the most effective exercises for older men, and you can even see that some of the strongest weightlifters in the world are over 50. That's because weightlifting not only strengthens joints, but doesn't put much strain on them if you do it with proper form. All the real strain is put on the muscles, which heal much better.
I was thinking this too!! Had to rewatch that part of few times, it reminds me of when ballerinas spin on pointe too with how effortlessly he seems to spin in the air before catching the bars. It's crazy how seriously skilled and talented people are
Back uprise double front on Ps is nice but, I think the single to straight arm support looks better than the catch to upper arm. If one was able to catch that double front in a straight arm support, that would be insane. Considering the way the difficulty has progressed in this sport over the years, I'm guessing someone will be doing this before too long.
Easiest way to get something named after you is to be born to money and pay for it. Easiest way that isn't based on having access to wealth, is to get into entomology. There's so many insects, it's not *that* hard to find and describe a new one. It's generally considered bad form to name them after yourself, so people typically name them after others, but there's nothing actually stopping you naming it after yourself.
I think the easiest way is to have a baby... And name it after yourself. 😅 For men it's a bit easier than for women. But overall in the world, babies are the most numerous 'thing' that appear and are named after someone.
That backflip into the horizontal stick sounds impossible to me. My wrists would break and my shoulders wouldn’t be able to bend half the angle that you guys do it. You guys are genuinely impressive and I love to see your work
Do you have any skills named after you?
Imagine explaining that it’s like “yeah it’s like a double pirouette, but upside down, it’s in the air, no I’m not on drugs”
God and Jesus loves you
I cannot be the only person who thought he was going to hit the parallel bars on the first move
You should submit the "bar breaker" for dismount
The extra spin is absolutely beautiful
The bar one kinda gave “she was a fairy”
Backflip to planche lean: 🤯
witness history in the making
wow those skills are crazy
that last one though 😮
Is that Jonathan Horton in that blurry clip?
What happens to the move if they don’t get it right?
Those are so cool
I like the twisty one
That double twist on high bar is Dante DevilMayCry
everytime someone breaks a bar, it’s called a Gunther.
wtf the flip into planche was insane
That one on the parallel bars looks lethal on the arms!
İt's so hard

Cant wait to see the gunther being an official move one day
Super cool! So strong and agile ❤❤❤
WOW 🍿WOOOW🍿
the hop double full on bar looks AWESOME
WOW!!!😍😍😍👍👍👍
Is breaking the bar a named move?
Show offs.
😮
Also the hood double was in the code for a long time. They took it out last quad.
Uprise double front to upper arm is and has been in the code already… it’s unnamed and is an e value
Nice
What's the guy's name who's doing the hop double full?
That hop double full was beautiful!

The guy in the blue shirt is doing straight calisthenics

me: i could do that
also me, seeing someone do one (1) singular backflip: WOAH HOW DID YOU DO THAT
the last one looks insanely cool wow

It says Zapata 2 my last names Zapata :P
Gymnastics is low key 🔥
the last one is gorgeous
the last one looks like an animation out of the spiderman games

If a gymnast competes two different skills for the first time, they can't both be named after them, can they? What do they do?
They can. They add a Roman numeral Biles has plenty for example
Also because of that we not only have the Gaylord but also the Gaylord II

that last trick looked like some anime ninja shit wow

THE GUNTHER or THE BABY G
OMG STANFORD CARDINALSSSS YESSSS!!! Anyone else love Stanford????
