This channel exists to document unit counters within StarCraft 2. Tya's Unit Tournament features epic battles between units in StarCraft 2, using music from the game's soundtrack. Units are chosen from Protoss, Terran and Zerg forces, or a co-op commander such as Raynor, Nova, Artanis, or Kerrigan. Units will independently use their abilities, in a basic way. All units use Legacy of the Void stats, the same units you'd see in SC2 e-sports controlled by the likes of Serral, Maru, and ByuN. The resource beneath vespene is the unit's cost in the mod I run on the SC2 arcade, Direct Strike. Enjoy! - Hry
So Tychus was able to kill more redshirts than the most powerful battlecruiser..
The Hyperion does about 3x more damage when moving, so without micro the only thing it has going for it is Yamato.
Hyperion AI kept retargeting, plus it didn’t have the fire on the move bonus DPS.
Also it was missing out on using one of its abilities (point defense drones) bc the Marines have hitscan
All of these comments paired with the fact that the Hyperion is more of a support capital ship. Usually meant to snipe high value targets instead of tearing apart chaff.
@@Wormy_fren but still shouldn't be taken down with rifles xD
"You ever notice that nobody ever comes _back_ to the barracks?" The voice lines we never hear is an added bonus.
“I have not evolved a new arm. Why?”
Yeah where are these lines coming from??
@@hookedonphones1681 I assume they're the normal voice lines. Each unit has a long list of voice lines. We only hear the first few, but if you click on the same unit consecutively after each voice line, after the first few standard ones they go through the rest of that list. Many of them are funny/references.
@@kevinmeeker2832 no they're not normal, def not in the game
@@TanguyBlanchard They are in the base game! If you click on a unit, it will give you a voiceline. If you click on the same unit without giving any commands, it will give you another voiceline. If you keep doing it, it will cycle through the common ones you're used to hearing, then start saying other new joke lines. We don't hear the joke lines unless you select the same unit after each line without issuing commands, but they are in the base game! They're pretty funny, as you can see from these videos :D
Dehaka is so powerful it's insane.
Also it's still funny how a pack of marines with basic rifles are shooting down one of the biggest battlecruisers in the universe :D
Hey everyone go check out this guy's channel, he makes good nostalgic content about SC2's glory days and players!
Even though, if you used the real scale mod, that hyperion would look different :)
man, how are you everywhere? I see your comments on every starcraft video I watch
@@maxchristopherson9909 I follow most sc2 channels :)
I mean no matter if it’s not really Godzilla Godzilla is still Godzilla
Too bad the Hyperion didn't have the cut-screen fire rate of its first introduction in SC2.
That Hyperion fires 25 shots at a time dealing 25 damage in an area. It would annihilate 80 Marines. I used to test it in the editor and it would take ridiculously large armies to take it down. It has 10000 hp.
There is multiple versions of the Hyperion
@@rozmarinideas5340 yeah, i think they chose the hots Hyperion instead which is a lot worse
I think it's supposed to.
@@Jpeg.g it’s the coop Hyperion.
I expected Alarak and the first Fenix to do better, but they went down almost instantly.
I think alarak's problem was he died too quickly for his healing to activate. if it had made it he probably would have won.
They used campaign Fenix instead of co-op, which made a huge difference
@@JustInCaseD campaign fenix literally can’t die, each time his shields go down he instantly gets them back, the only way to kill him is with Yamato
@@user-xi2ne4xc9t There's a cooldown on that ability.
The first Fenix especially. Was that really 4000 HP????? Update: definitely got no shield capacitor process at all. But why?
Dehaka is definitely OP. I still remember that epic fight of Dehaka vs Alarak... 🙂
Him or his mothership? Which episode?
@@vahidmoosavian6313 mothership. It got yoshi'ed
nom nom
@@vahidmoosavian6313
Its this episode:
czcams.com/video/wjE3SBiD8v8/video.html
Where Dehaka used his devour ability to insta-kill the Tal’darim mothership.
If the hyperion was actually moving, it would have killed far more marines.
It probably wouldn't have won, but it can actually wipe out attack waves.
Hyperion have x3 dps on the move. And attack range. Marines have no chances when you control Hyp.
if it was moving away it would totally win
Honestly, if it used Yamato right after blinking, when the marines were stacked up to chase, it would have knocked a bunch more out as well.
@@user-vm8pc6xi2w Now that I think about it, probably yes.
well, if marines were stutter-stepping - they wouldve downed him even faster. Most of the marines were just walking around each other to get in range of shooting
The Hyperion: One of the most powerful Battlecruisers humanity has to offer. Armed with multiple laser batteries, the Yamato Cannon and heavy neosteel plating armor. Gets shot down by a bunch of convicts with guns. Lol. Dehaka and Dragoon Fenix are gigachads though :D
I thought Dragoon Fenix would win, but I did NOT anticipate the margin being so narrow.
And Dehaka is the ultimate Gigachad. The Terachad, if you will. His presence is a meme against whatever he faces.
@@kevinmeeker2832 Now then, zweihaka?
even more powerful, because he looks way more fucking awesome,
@@randomthings8732 Ima be honest with you. I never get to look at him. Microing both takes 130% of my focus. But it's always worth it in the end.
More like yodachad ;)
@@kevinmeeker2832 i just select dehaka and zweihaka in the same group for the first group, then dehaka for second (or zwei) then zweihaka for third
also, fun fact, zwei means two in.. was it german? so twohaka
The fact that Dehaka has no aoe with his claws is a crime
Also he would probably solo all of StarCraft if he did, but it's not like it would be hard in his current state.
And want it. I want splash claws.
Should be like the Ultra attack with how big he is
Splash claws would have been interesting. The animation could be something like he crushes things under his foot similar to his leap attack.
After watching it 4 times that Alarak result was SOOO fluky. His first destruction wave hit right before stim so it didn't kill anything, and he got whittled during the recharge. Then he dies 0.5 seconds before fully healing from Destruction Wave #2 killing 35 Marines. If Wave #1 is 0.5 seconds slower he wins the fight gotSad
the dehaka they gave me in the zerg campaign wasnt nearly as powerful :(
This Dehaka is from coop sc2
no essense- no gains
Gotta admit he attacks way fucking cooler though
Not counting the fire breath
- Man my heart goes to marines who tried to go past their comrades and got Yamatoed before they could have done anything
- Congratulations to THE Marine #38 new Tald'arim Highlord
- Yes never liked Fenix(from sc2)
- Dehaka left the battle than had going in into a battle
- 80 Marines won against 1 Marine no surprise there
- so close yet so far away
p.s. and this Shameful Weapon is about to take you down
Extremely funny to watch glorious protoss champions get instantly vaporized, and then here comes dehaka who chews through 80 while barely taking damage. Chad didn't even use leap, he was holding back
Who needs to leap when you can tri-AoE within 2 seconds?
This just proves that swapping Fenix out depending on which opponent you face makes the world of difference. Dragoon Fenix fared way better
Especially when it uses overcharge which instant cooldowns the aoe skill until it runs out of energy
Dragoon Fenix also won with like 2 heath remaining, despite good ability use, but yes. Still much better.
@@gregoirebasseville4797 Which is why I recommend never sending him in alone. Sure he is powerful, but he can get overwhelmed
@@gregoirebasseville4797 "despite good ability use". That's tragically bad ability use lol. It has 0 cooldown, it should've shot all 10 shots in an instant with a good AI or 2 seconds if it want to pretend to have human limitations.
DID NOT ecpect Alarak to go down that fast. 3/3 marines are actually scary 😨.
Maybe if he had "empower me" activated for splash...
Would have helped a lot yes. Him dying so close to his wave of health arriving was tragic
in first minute i was about to say "NO ONE DEFEATS MARINES ! "
Then dehaka came with his flame breath i was like "o.. oh... wow 🙄 yep that'll do 😳"
Dehaka from Co-Op at max level is busted in a way few other singular units are. Against giant targets chances are he can Just Eat Them for an OHKO. Against smaller targets like Marines... well you saw. Ground or Air, Many or Few, Dehaka can pretty much handle it all. Up to a point at least. I can't think of exactly how many it would take of any given unit to defeat him, but Enough sustained firepower can eventually down Dehaka.
... The problem is getting enough of it firing at him before they roast.
You could see alarak's absorption would have saved him had he lived another quarter of a second so I feel like RNG had some play there. Also the Hyperion should be strafing through the mass because it fires far more aoe shots if it is moving over them. Should have AI like the diamondbacks instead of typical BC I think
Well as we say, marines are the kings of the battle, as long as no splash is involved !
It was so funny to watch Dehaka yeet the marines around!
Also, congratulations on that AOE targetting AI, it's incredibly efficient!
3/6
I hope I can see Nova and T2 Tychus...etc
Thanks for updating😇
How have I been a StarCraft two fan for 12 years and just found this channel now!? CZcams algorithm fail
I'm looking forward to see that with every sc2 hero, and than the same but with nova marines/marines with upgraded stimpack
In about half of these instances, the marines did more damage to themselves than the heros probably did.
Man I was hoping it was going to be the WoL Hyperion. The one that can attack 25 times at once and fires its Yamoto cannon like a machine gun that deals area damage.
So is Dehaka just invincible? 😅
To small units? Yes, mostly, he has an armor bonus, and regeneration bonus.
@@Alknix 20 thors against a Dehaka maybe? Because one shots humongous units.
@@alejandronieto4212 20 thors, or even 10 I think, should beat him. His massive armor, flame breath and heal on consuming biological units held him tremendously against marines. He would not one-shot anything against thors, not heal as much and his armor would barely reduce damage taken.
AMAZING VIDEOS!! I LOVE THEM ALL! I can't find the soundtrack you use. You mentioned it's part of the SCII soundtrack but can't find it. Thanks!
Dehaka came out with more HP then he had at start of battle
Damn, the way Hyperion blasted its Yamato the first time, marines just went flying. XD
lvl 3 Pride of Augustgrade would've annihilated the Marines.
godzilla devouring all those pitiful marines :(
at the end where you show the results... what do the background colors of each strip represent? Random?
I legit snorted so loudly when I saw the MVP 1 kill XD
Please more videos against Heroes ;)
The incredible firepower that is man with gun always impresses me.
Now I want to see a gauntlet. One group of units trying to kill 5-6 groups of X units.
Is there any chance we can get normal coloured health bars instead of team coloured? Makes the game look way better and understandable
Yea, im colorblind and i find it really hard to even see who is dying.
I thought Tychus had that easy but then I remembered I'm used to seeing him being megabuffed by Lone Wolf
When Dehaka can do a thing that Hyperion couldn't you know something is going.
Goddamn Dehaka is brutal :D
"Alarak's gotta be able to do it- oh."
i seeing the heroes of the storm music used this way
The Marines won way more of those than I thought they were going to
didn't notice how bad hyperion's targeting was. It'd often shoot one to two times after the marine was dead.
I Like that Marines are one of the units that you remove or add one to their number and it can alter the experience but outcomes are roughly identical at least from what I've toyed around with, consistency and all that jazz, of course I prefer my RTS experiences to be filled with more chaos but that's just me.
It's kinda weird how half of these Hero units just didn't have their signature ability, while the other half did. PDD & Shield Restoration are kinda the thing that makes those units good. Meanwhile Dehaka just straight up had Flame-Breath and the Roar that was not even an advertised as his upgrades. This one in particular is just a big "gatcha, didn't think these heroes are downgraded".
They had both! Pdd doesn't affect marines
5/6
I didn't expect Dehaka to be so strong with his breath
I predicted Tychus and Fenix correctly. I didn't expect the short delay on Alarak's kill heal to matter and I should have expected Dehaka to have the fire breath.
Брюхозаврик:
- Какие питательные существа!
Dehaka instantly destroys 60 marines and then slowly slaps them one by one
Why did Fenix get no shield capacitor procs?? Help us Tya
Damn, I really expected Praetor form to do better than that. Probably not win, but roughly Tychus.
*Dehaka eating one marine*
Yup, it's dead meat alright.
*Dehaka - "Hans, get de flamethrower"*
OH SHIT...
If Thychus had his full 5/5 upgrades and the Lone Wolf perk, he would decimate those 80, hell maybe even over 100!
What does the stat next to the red and blue traingle represent? Under gas and minerals?
This is their cost in Direct Strike, as is pointed out in the description to every video. This is because Tya is the creator of Direct Strike.
@@kelvsyc8676 thank you!
Wait dehaka auto attack doesn't have aoe when he's bigger? It looks soo goofy when big units only deal dmg to 1 enemies, brutalisk as well
I was wondering where Kerrigan is in this roster. But immobilization wave would end the fight before it began. Depending on whether you're using desolate queen or not she can also just charge through while generating a hefty shield, or crushing grip them and heal off those packs
Next episode Please! Two Kerrigan from Coop, Artanis, Karax!
impossible to tell which units are from which version/mode of the game. :(
especially hyperion.
My rule is
- Does it appear in standard mode? Standard stats.
- If not, does it appear in co-op? Co-op stats.
- If both the above are false, campaign stats.
Why was Tychus not at 5/5 upgrades?
if done again or against zealots or something kill counts at the end summary would be nice. See how those that lost fared relative to each other.
Just look at how many are left after the fight.
What does the blue and red symbol mean? For marines it says 4000
What type of game mod is it?
Dehaka my man! Primal Zerg? Primal Zerg Man!
The Hyperion was lacking point defense drones ^^
The hyperion tactical jumped forward and went back, must have tactical jumped all the way around the world and back.
And so, my only one right option was Dehaka (because he is Godzilla). I didn't expect the Marines to be THAT strong.
i wanna see what happens if you put the perfect blink stalkers against the odin
Dehaka could probably take on Amon, Thanos, Darkseid, Voldemort, Sauron, Madara, Aizen, and Ymu working together 😂
People often forget that Marines have INSANE DPS, they are paper yes, but they can still cut hands
The most unexpected one is def Fenix v2. He needed to die ones to be upgraded to a dragoon 😅
It was for told
"By the numbers boys"
I'm surprised at how poorly Fenix did, I didn't expect him to lose... But I'm equally surprised at how well Fenix did, I didn't think he'd win!
Who would win:
A terran capital ship the size of small cities, armed and armored with capabilities that allow it to match, or even exceed the protoss equivalent in direct conflict
Or
80 shootaboys
Dehaka was just toying with them
dehaka wtf, didnt even scratch him
You don't mess with Dehaka
Holy cow dehaka was literally yeeting marines
Can’t believe Godzilla can’t do splash attack
Yep this confirms that Dehaka and Fenix are the strongest characters in Starcraft
Heh I love how tychus is deadlier than a battlecruiser.
Is this the SC2 equivalent of order 66?
80 marines killed most heroes or left them on the brink of death and they didn't make a dent on Dehaka, he left exactly the same as he arrived.
1. Mars 2. Alarak 3. Fenix 4. Dahaka 1. Mats 1. Mars
Mh you didn't give Hyperion the defense drone ?
If Mengsk only knew he only needed 80 marines to kill the whole Raynors Raider. lol
Dehaka didnt even use his aoe jump ability
Glory to the humble marine!
I want to see Kerrigan vs 80 marines
Rofl Dehaka just yeets them when his fire breath is on cd
That last Fenix had like 1 HP left.
Dehaka's morning snack
Where is Kerrigan?)
My cute boi Dehaka leaving with more strength than he came in with
Alarak dying a split second before all his healing arrives is tragic tho
Alarak would win with some micro. First destruction wave, pull away. Second destruction wave into the weakened ones to kill them. Time it good so the lifesteal sustains Alarak.
Way do dehakka have 3 charges of his breath attack???
4/6 not bad
Dehaka made it look easy again.
What's the name of this song
dragoon fenix trying to let marines have a chance by staggering out its blasts instead of rapid fire sweeping them into oblivion
Huh, why didn't Alarak have his soul absorption?
Where does goon fenix come from in sc2?
Fenix has three suits: the Praetor Armor suit, the Solarite Dragoon suit, and the Cybros Arbiter suit; the latter two is exclusive to co-op. He can deploy a suit to anywhere with vision, and the two suits that are not in use will slowly regenerate health and energy. (Note that campaign Fenix and co-op Praetor Fenix have the same abilites, but different stats: co-op Fenix is not considered Armored, but his abilities are limited by energy.)
All suits have a 4-minute cool-up, so Fenix is not available from the start of the game.
For P0, P2, and P3 Fenix, switching suits is not a free action: there is a 15-second cooldown once suits are switched before Fenix's suit can be switched again. If a suit is destroyed in battle, there is a 180 second cooldown timer before that suit can be redeployed (but you can deploy the other suits). For P1 Fenix, the Praetor and Dragoon suits are turned into proper call-downs, automatically warping out after 20 seconds with a 2 minute cooldown, and if either suit is destroyed, the rebuild time is increased to 5 minutes. (The Arbiter suit is unchanged for P1.)
It appears that for these videos, Fenix does not benefit from Fenix Attack Speed mastery.
