Thanks a lot.
Out of all the knives I've ever seen, the Lawman is I think the single most practical, ALL purpose, folder that can be relied on. It's got the guard, so you could stab with it (a rare feature on folders). But it still has the choil so you can get right on the edge. It's got the world's strongest lock. It's got a strong tip that won't break easily. It's ergonomic. It's durable. And it's still thin and easy to carry, and not too expensive. IMO, it is the one folder to rule them all.
You’re not wrong. So many great positives about this one.
Almost could say greatest folder ever made yes
This is my current Edc. I work in construction and i make sure it is in my pocket before i leave the house. I use it practically everyday. I've accidentally left my wallet but never my American Lawman. I own two, the CTS hollow grind and the current s35vn sabre grind. I used to Edc the code 4, love that knife, but in the cold climate its much colder to carry. I used to Edc an AD-10 as well, but that beautiful knife used to freak people out when I take it out. Thats a beast of a folder!
Thanks for chiming in. That’s great to hear you using and carrying it so much.
I have 3 of these. Have owned every version over time, but now have two XHP models and one S35VN model. This was what I used while working construction for years. Once XHP became an option, I gifted my Aus8 models to family.
It’s funny I was just using my cold steel American lawman in CTS-XHP, and thinking to myself this is definitely in the top five all time best EDC knives for actual use…it also comes with both left and right handed pocket clips.
That’s awesome. The more I handle it here the more I dig it and wish I could go back to simpler type of tools.
@@DirkWerning I agree 👍
I use it from work , recreation to the home kitchen. It has lots of flat spots for crushing garlic. Great geometry. Never chipped even with 17 degrees edge. stay sharp for a long time. Had been 5 years serving me. Easily serviceable , reliable lock.
I love this knife, perhaps more than the many other models that Cold Steel offers the consumer. It's a shame, though, that they don't give us a coated and uncoated option as, personally, I could do without a coated blade . Since this review ,by the way, the American Lawman has gone up about 30 bucks.
Yep pricing I discuss is always just a snapshot that’s another reason I try not to talk pricing.
I have this knife. If you have friends and relatives with calloused hands and scratched pickup trucks, i.e. real working men, and you cringe knowing they buy their knives at Home Depot, THIS is the knife you get them for holiday gifts. It's perfect for that.
It really is a great ‘gift’ knife for anyone but especially the ‘working man’.
It can handle anything, no one cares if it gets scratched up, and sub $100
Love the American Lawman and most Cold Steels I've handled. I think the Lawman is already a classic, though I preferred them with the hollow grind.👍😁
I have more than a hundred Cold Steels and the Lawman is in my top 5 favorites.
Hey guys I had the older aus8 American Lawman & bought the new seven steel version.
The handle on the newer one is significantly thinner than the aus8 version.
I was able to swap the blades 100% between the 2 resulting in me having the new seven steel with the old g10 from the aus8 thicker more reliable handle.
That sounds like a winner.
Bought one about a month ago. Love it. Wondering if the flip opening will loosen up over time but the knife is amazing. Perfect size, weight and very hardy.
That’s great to hear (other than you didn’t use my Amazon link 😜😂🤣)
It will loosen up just flick that mother open all day .
@@solomonkane408 was just a loaner. I’m sure I could have ‘tuned’ it some.
My only cold steel is a recon one. I've beat the hell out of it. Cold steel definitely makes durable knives
Indeed
They come with a right and left handed clip. Great knife.
Thanks Dirk. This is indeed a potential interesting daily carry. I have the Code 4, good as a larger carry for camping etc. One issue with it is the Triad lock is really stiff, though can manage. This one looks a bit more easy to open/close. Will look into it. 👍🗡
Please do yourself a favor and give it a look. It’s easy open/close.
I have the lawman(S35VN)and I love it , picked it up brand new for $40 bucks I got lucky. One small thing ,, it’s Tanto , not Tonto,, he was the lone Rangers sidekick 😜😜
😂😂😂😂
Thanks for your video. Mine is arriving today!😁😁
Awesome
@@DirkWerning should go quite well with all my other CS knives🔪🔪
I’ve got one of the older ones with a hollow grind and CTS XHP and it’s a user! I’ve beat it up pretty good and it still keeps trucking. I think I prefer the CTS steel over the S35VN.
Great choice for sure.
I'm really excited about the new Cold Steel Engage. The 3.5" one with deep pocket carry and S35VN steel and with choil. I couldn't help myself with this one a had to buy it right away. Can't wait to get it. 🙂
Sounds cool.
left hand clips are included with cold steel knives ❤
Awesome thanks. Been so long since I’ve gotten one brand new.
I ordered one off Amazon for $83. I want it for use & not necessarily action. I quit buying knives that I have to question using outside. Super thin liner lock knives are too delicate for me
Congrats. This is a great user.
Love the knife .. hate that i cant flip it open with the thumb stud !
It cheaper but not budget when u get got civivis for 45 in d2 . The lawman has s35vn slim, study , and semi light oh and the grip is so good .
Still in that budget range to me in the sub $100
I've always wanted a lawman. Great review 👍
Thanks. It’s cooler than I thought it would be.
Great knife
Lock backs rule if it is a triad lock. I own a dozen cold steel and my favorite recon 1 mini spear point.
You get an extra left handed pocket clip in the packaging.
6 year edc ,no paint left on clip and lock bar , the best ,so i have a spare in the box
Niiice
I hate to say it, honestly because I love Lynn Thompson and cold steel, but I’m out on new cold steel since the sale of the company. Breaks my heart
I totally get that.
Back in my old construction days, I would have loved this CS. Oh heck, they had not invented knives at that time. Just daydreaming. Pro show!
Lolol
They had knifes before u were even born
@@Zaa-up4hg thanks for letting me know
The Gunsite is a Voyager. I have had 2 XL’s
Hi sir, what would you choose for edc.
This knife or the buck 110 with s30v?
That’s a tough question. I think I would go classic Buck 110
They all come with both clips.
Perfect.
Button lock lawman would tickle my taint. You listening cold steal?
I spit Copenhagen juice on my phone screen reading this comment... asshole! Lolololol
Dirk this knife is old so it's not actual to present it nowadays, don't you think i'm right!
You’re right it’s old BUT it’s still available and it’s a great knife. Why would I not show it and talk about it??
@@DirkWerning I'm not against to show it and make review of it just said It's old model.
@@zero_tolerance245 oh okay I misunderstood. Yes it’s an older model.
One name for you… AK-47
