    The promise of Chromebook Plus is simple: make devices that have the hardware to deliver a great all-around ChromeOS experience at a price that doesn’t hurt too bad. So far, every Chromebook Plus model I’ve used for any amount of time has delivered on this promise, so it should come as no surprise when I tell you that the Lenovo Flex 5i Chromebook Plus is a fantastic, imperfect, very enjoyable Chromebook experience.

    Based on your reviews, I bought a similar Acer Spin 714 and it really is fantastic. Although it launched before Chromebook Plus, it has been upgraded to be a Plus model now.

    I just got this one a few days ago and I've been loving it so far. by far the fastest Chromebook I've ever used and the first time that I can honestly say that a Chromebook has a computer experience comparable to that of any mid-range windows laptop. any college student would absolutely love to have this as their primary computer, highly recommend!

      @@aliasgharkhoyee9501 there are definitely fans in it, but you hardly noticed them (They only really spin up while you're first setting it up). it's about 3.5 pounds, and it definitely feels a bit heavier than Chromebooks I've used in the past, but nothing too crazy

    I bought a Chromebook out of curiosity in this year’s Black Friday Sales. A hideously named ASUS Chromebook Plus CX3402CBA (at 239 Great British Pounds)… So far, I’m impressed by what I got for the money. It mostly just works in a very unfussy manner with very decent performance. For software development, the whole Linux container setup is very straightforward. Oh, and when docked I can use it with my external Logitech webcam without switching on my monitor mounted lighting! That Google AI goodness isnt just for the (very good) built in HD webcam!

    Watching on my new Lenovo Flex 5i! So far I love it! Really liking the 16:10 aspect ratio and the processor seems to be really fast. It wouldn't seem like it but the screen at 300 nits is much better than my old Asus at 250 nits. Plus, at $379.00 at Best Buy I feel it's well worth it! I appreciate the work you guys do. Thank you.

    • @AndrewTSq
      @AndrewTSq Před 6 měsíci +1

      I also have this chromebook (but with 256GB SSD fingerprint reader and pen). I wonder if the screenbrightness is correct from Lenovo, cause I have an older Acer with 300nits, and its way brighter (both laptops have a touchscreen). I have used Lenovo laptops at work (Windows machines) and the screen has always been really dark, so I've never been able to use them at summer outside for example, so maybe its Lenovo overrepporting the nits, or they measure it in a different way.

    My girlfriend bought that laptop, used it for a few days but it was not a good experience. My Flex 5i came with a screen pen. It works ok but isnt magnetic and doesnt have any sort of clip, which is a but disappointing. My i3 model gets nowhere near 10 hours battery, its lucky to get 4 hours web browsing.

  • @PRAWNST4R
    @PRAWNST4R Před 3 měsíci +1

    After 2 months of daily use, I would not recommend this model. the chromebook will always assume I want to be in tablet mode and there is no clear other way to take it out of tablet mode than plugging in a usb or external cable. This is quite inconvenient. The hinge also is unstable and is already rocking a bit. speakers are quiet but it is true that the screen is beautiful! keyboard feels nice but the trackpad is quite awkward. I will be surprised if the hardware of any Flex 5i outlasts the 10 years of software updates.

    I have this chromebook, a big warning!. There are 2 versions, one that is ok, and then there is the one I have.. same specs except for the display. My hast 45% NTSC display so the colors are not accurate at all. Red is more orange, and everything has a yellow tint.

      Can add, that I dont mind the colors, it looks ok, but I would never do any type of design work on it, but its fast and snappy!. Also have a real PCIE 4.0 NVME, but of the not that common 2242 format.

    A bit underwhelming. I am sure schools will like it, although most have already bought their supplies, so Chromebook sales are severely declining. This "Plus" rebranding is unlikely to resurrect sales, but some quality control was needed as many people buying Chromebooks were disappointed, and now they can buy the Plus variant knowing it has average to better specs.
