In Canada the little gem boxes inside the compacts were also removable...apparently in the US they were glued down. As well, each compact came with a gold or silver chain just like the ones you used for the lockets. I really love this set...Jewelled Palace (pink & ruby) is my favourite!
Mine must've been the Australian version, except the lockets.

I was able to grow up with the Forest and Palace ones, as hand-me-downs from older cousins -- I was missing the monkey and Polly from Palace but -- such amazing sets! Your restoration work on them is amazing too, it's hard to even find these in good condition at all!

I loved Little Bear! It’s a Canadian show that was aired in the US. I’m Canadian 😉 so when you mentioned it, I had to check because I thought it only aired here! 🇨🇦

Gosh, I have a dilemma as always: I like the blue set the most, because blue is my favorite color, but on the other hand I like the inside of the green set the most 🙂👍 one thing is for sure: these old kits were delightful in terms of color and detail 💛

Does ANYONE know what toy I’m talking about?? It was similar to polly pocket, but it was a tube you twisted up. The doll was almost as large as the tube and had “real” hair, and the tube may have had a little gemstone in the front. It was around 10 years ago I had these dolls and I can not find them anywhere!! Does anyone know what they’re called??

You can buy each one individually and slowly obtain all of them. That's what I did. 😄
i would say diver is an otter...there are river otters and sea otters, and while there are saltwater beavers, they are typically icons of the riverlife. A sea otter is more of an iconic OCEAN animal :) kinda strange choice of animal though!! I guess they had to choose a sea animal that can breathe air so that they can be with polly :)
