- Today we visit Brooklyn Campervans in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn New York by NYC. Arthur, Rob and Oliver. Arthur and Oliver’s company started with a dream that the world could be your home. As two travel filmmakers, Arthur and Oliver spent years on the road, but despite beautiful hotels nothing could replace the feeling of a familiar bed or kitchen. Their company recently launched a Kickstarter for custom swing out panels for the RAM Promaster vans. The panels allow for a secure window opening in the rear section of the vans without taking away from the stealth appearance.
Brooklyn Campervans blends upscale craftsmanship with minimalist design and clean aesthetic. They have driven over 20,000 miles on the road carefully testing and tweaking their designs to provide the same quality and care for their customers. Love the bathroom tile. And that flip up hatch is pretty clever. I would like to see some form of bug screen for it, though. Good job guys.
Maybe they figure anyone could just make a magnetic bug screen to put up before opening the hatch. Probably easy too, just need some magnetic strips and flexible fabric screen. Or they could be planning that for later if the Kickstarter works. 😅

Yes, the BKC Swing Out Panels took some years of testing & tweaking, and the last part is the new bug screen which will be offered soon!
@@brooklyncampervans Hah, I knew it! Honestly, I'm surprised bug screens aren't offered for every opening/door on a van build as standard but I figured it would have to at least be an option on that type of window. Nice job getting the project done, especially done well. I'm sure things will work out just fine for your Kickstarter and that soon you'll be making these type of windows/escape hatches for every type of van (or other type of tiny/mobile home) available. That toilet is freaky! In Europe we use the cassette type toilets, might be worth considering guys?

Thanks, we are obviously very hyped about our BKC Swing Out Panels launch too! Yes the toilet gets some getting used to, we love it, but we also offer composting toilet options as well.
@@brooklyncampervans Try the European style cassette toilets, easy to install, easy to use and even easier to dispose of the waste. The faux windows are great, add a little magnetic insect screen and you’re golden. Really interesting location too, I noticed the Hasidic Jews. Keep up the great work. 👍🏼

Hey Arthur Oliver and Rob! Just wanted to say whats up! My heater worked flawless in my Transit all year long, and Steve is currently enjoying his van heater you installed, the mountains of Colorado. I have a simple project for you guys in the next few weeks, i need a enclosure built for a camp toilet. We will chat later about it, but until then keep up the great work!!

I really like the idea of a stealth van for city parking. But the trade-off has always been the feeling of being in a box rather than an actual living space. Your faux windows seem to solve that dilemma. Great solution! Nice build, btw.

Perfect design! Love the pop-out faux window inserts, just need a screen option for bugs. It also could work as an emergency exit. I would need a slightly bigger doggie door, as I have a large dog, and delete the toilet, as there are better options.

Thanks! Yes the last van we did the client has a large Great Dane. It doesn't fit into the doggy door, but it's no problem for us to make a larger one! We are building out bug screens for the swing out panels now.
Think I would have the cutting board able to hang off end of sink over the seat,to use as extra space for dishes when washing

It’s easy to fill jugs in public restroom and showers at the gym. The porta potties or urine jugs from composting toilets can be emptied into public restrooms

The toilet can be moved and shifted to the other side of the wet bath.

Aha it's faux leather, so it's vegan, and the company is called Natural Leather. It unfortunately came out more as a jumble of words haha.
