I'm not so fond of the way he has of "distending" a songs natural flow. Sometimes he vocally pulls and stretches so much-(just to be different?, to be sure that he won't be confused with any other singer?) that he makes it almost unlistenable. Please! a song is not a mass of taffy candy, to be pulled and stretched this way and that ! ! B U T! B U T! B U T! This singer (PADDY REILLY) is so likeable, with such a great, authentically Irish voice. Is the somewhat nasal quality-(very attractive, by the way)-Irish, or just Reilly? Anyway, he really knows how to "ring" the notes, how to sell a song; and when he rings those notes they cut right through the listener! I did not know about Mr. Reilly until about ten days ago. From what I've learned of him it seems that he started making some noise, getting some attention in Ireland around the same time that John Prine was doing the same here in America. John Prine I knew about and have enjoyed his many gifts to us over the DECADES, decades when I was ignorant of the great work of Paddy Reilly. Well, I know about you now Mr. Reilly, and I'm making up for lost time ! !
