That's very crazy , cost more than my house, why so much money are the rims made of gold or other parts of it , why just why
......and .......and .......and JD probably frowns on you doing your own repairs.
@@johnjacobjinglehimerschmid3555 well I'm not a rich person , but my house came with a lot of stuff even central air conditioning and it's on a lake , so I'm not complaining well water is very very sweet and healthy to drink, better than my old home sted Flint Michigan was a nasty persite of a nightmare .

35,000 for a home not bad though
The service guy at his John Deere dealership is salivating
Andrew Cruz: not many deere dealers left in canada accully there kinda gone down hill bad because amount of rediclas price they charge for selling stuff need to play the lotary to get rich to buy there stuff lol
💥 I can’t understand why anyone would pay so much for that . You really don’t get that much.
*Keep on tractoring!* 👍
Seriously. Better off just buying s used small pickup
A brand new Japanese mini truck with a lift is probably 12 grand less.
Just about a week ago I saw your video 3 years ago reviewing a gator, because we are buying one. That video helped a lot and that is when I subscribed.
Way over priced with empty switches to remind you what is not standard! I guess you pay 10 grand for heat and air!
That’s more than my pick up 😭
Agree. In 2015 I bought a 2013 Tundra Crew Max for 29.9k. That is a LOT more vehicle for the money. It now has almost 120k miles on it and it is still going strong.
@@curtwhite876 thats same price here in canada wich deeres are nuts with there price kubota here are cheaper
More than a new wrangler
What model is ur truck
@@curtwhite876 agree with you exactly.
We have a similar Gator. ...the 835M HVAC. We find the gasoline powered version (835 vs. 865) to be much more 'peppy'. The M is much louder than the R due to lack of insulation material in the cab. In either case, we really like the machine.
Thanks for the review.
I enjoyed it
My wheelchair came in camo and since I’m not able to go hunting anymore I’ve been thinking about getting it painted in John Deere colors.
In the winter when dudes plowing snow in his dry, heated cab, 35k will be money well spent. Buy once cry once.
Gonna be crying for awhile for 35K Large that you can't even drive to the grocery store, pull another truck out, bring the kids to school, pull a hay trailer, etc, etc !
Edit: Plow snow that will actually make you money also, to offset the cost.
Can get a nice pickup for 35k..so why?
@@briancasey4917, Can get two for that price !
@@augustreil I plow snow with mine and all I’ve got extra is a windshield. It just is what a fellow wants.

35k no radio????? lol
bhahahaa...its coming
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer500 watts, 12" base tube, get those cows dancing
Tell me about it my xuv835r don't and that was 25k
I have a 2019 Honda Pioneer 700 Deluxe and I love it about $13,000 but worth every penny if you ask me
I can’t think of any reason to spend 35 grand on a Gator, but I’m sure there is. You would have to run it 24/7 to make it pay out. Or you have more money than you need and want to show off.
Or you're a successful person that runs a farm or manages his property. I don't think it's about pay out..it's more about enjoying your income the way you'd like....some folks buy campers...some folks buy corvettes right?
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer Exactly. So many people cannot see this. Additionally, a vehicle like this can be a primary tool utilized on their farm/business. When you absolutely depend on a tool like that on a daily basis, $35k simply isn't even expensive.
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer most people don't understand that it can be used for tax write off. Would love for you do a video on buying equipment an their tax write off, depreciation etc.
If you have the extra income and get to write it off, it's gotta be a pleasure. If your budget's tighter, then it's absolutely not worth it. May those who can enjoy then, especially in the cold.
@@stevensaxon8888, I would rather have that money in my pocket.
You can buy a new Ford F150 for under $30,000 and a new Ford F150 for over $80,000. You get what you pay for. All brands have the top and bottom in the same model.
We just purchased one of these for our team and used this video as our training video. Very well done!!!
nice....don't get me wrong...it's a nice rig, but man is it expensive
It's about time you stepped up to a "REAL" UTV. We have an 855D that we bought fully loaded in 2016, and it just won't stop, and that is being used hard on a ranch daily. Congrats!
Spent 6 grand on a 2004 Suzuki carry with 5000km 8yr. ago. 600cc gas 3 banger, 4x4 hi-lo diff and axel lock. AM radio, heat a/c, 4’x6’ bed with 800kg capacity. Search Japanese mini truck.
Yep...seen them...can't fit in them too good...but I've seen them lol
I have the XUV 835R, the gas model, it has everything but a radio. The heat is great, the AC is absolutely fantastic. I’ve had it for two years now and the AC will freeze you out. I live in south Louisiana so you know it’s working. It has a cabin filter and a pressurized cab to keep the dust out. I have the wench, the front work lights, the rear work lights, the turn signals, the hazard flashers, the horn, windshield washer/wipers, the electric/hydraulic dump bead, the bumpers front and rear, camouflage exterior and black alloy rims with nice mud grip tires. It has an 85 amp alternator to power all the electrical demand you can use and I added a 1100 watt inverter to power 120 volt power tools like drills small compressor etc. I like he way the doors open, unlike the ranger suicide doors. Makes getting in and out a lot easier, also the fear or them opening when trailering down the interstate to the hunting lease and them flying open and destroying them is gone. The windshield opening is convenient and there is a detent that will allow you to open the windshield an inch or so for fresh air on those days during spring or fall when you don’t need the AC or the heat. I did some shopping when I bought mine and compared the Kubota, Polaris, Bobcat and CanAm. With all the same equipment the Deere was the best price at $24650. Yes, still a lot of money but I’m retired and that’s what I wanted. I’ve had no problems with it and it’s never been stuck. No I don’t go through 3 feet of water with it. That’s not what I bought it for. No regrets on purchasing it. Thanks for checking out my comments.
$35K !
No way
José…
i'd rather buy either 10 used ranger pick ups or about 10 good used Jeep YJ's.
I have a 2019 Ranger with FX4 package. When my Gator was being serviced, I had to use the Ranger in our muddy fields. No comparison, the Ranger barely made it out of the mud, the Gator will practically go anywhere except underwater and in the sky.
Yea older ranger before they became a runt of the f150 litter with good tires way better
One Roxor would do it for ya at half the price.
@@BrookhillAngus had a 89 ol' skool ranger 2 wd. Put R-1 lugs on the rears and I couldn't stick in the worst muck on my place.More importantly the wife couldn't stick it either.
@@BrookhillAngus More than likely your Ranger has mud and snow street tires at full pressure. Drop the pressure to 5 PSI and you won't stick it anywhere the gator can go and you have a bigger bed, safer ride, etc. All just opines: all said and done it's your money and your choice.
An old Toyota four-wheel-drive it’s pretty cheap and I can drive it to town when I need to.
@@SzymczykProductions I wouldn’t call him a fake farmer. He’s pretty smart because he has found away to buy his equipment, enhance his land, video the process, make the videos profitable and use that income back into the land. It’s a complete circle. He is more of a rancher but he has to build soil in order to have healthy livestock, so right now I guess he is a farmer turning into rancher.
I paid $23K for the 2019 835 M with lots of extras, winch, mirrors, front rack, side tool racks, back window guard, work lights, etc.
Awh I won't be owning that But it is pretty! I'm a poor Farmer!
$35,000 for a Rubbermaid garden shed on wheels, and it doesn't even have a radio. Hell, my car cost that much :(
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The first time you said 35K I thought I had heard wrong. The second time you said 35K I thought I’d heard wrong. The third time you said 35K......Well you get the picture. Now I really know what they mean when they say John Deere Green $$$$
I think the prices of utility vehicles are out of control industry wide and this 9ne is absurd
Then this one isn't for you. It clearly is for some people. That's okay.
@@watcherofwatchers when tacoma cast as much you know that gator is overpriced
I just don’t see how that’s worth 35k.. I paid 38k for a new 2020 F150 xl 4x4 ...Who wouldn’t rather have an actual truck? Utility vehicles serve an awesome purpose on the farm, just ask anyone that owns one.But no can do at that price.I can do the same work for half the cost with another machine.
I’m trying to figure out who buys these and why.Could anyone give me an example ? I do love seeing new and innovative machines.
I think $38k is too much for a base model pickup truck too....could have bought a 5 year old Raptor...stuff just costs too much these days
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer Got that right. My last truck I bought in 1990 for 17k.. And that was insanely expensive back then..What I like is the base model 4x4 is just an amazing vehicle compared to the good ol trucks..far better in every way... I’m getting to old to be working on keeping old used trucks going and dependable..
JD for 35k is crazy expensive ,compared to anything...
If this vehicle is vital to your operation, and you use it on a daily basis, then 35k is negligible. Also, some people just like nice stuff.
Just priced a gas one with no cab in Estevan Saskatchewan and it's almost 30 grand. Couldn't imagine what a diesel with cab is worth here
I like how the gear shifter is set up. If you have a middle passanger that is the same size as you are, the shifter is not up in your knees.
Just purchased a Can Am Defender limited. They only offer a gas motor right now. I like that diesel better, but the Can Am is way more powerful at that price point. Im bigger guy than you are and Ive had it up to almost 60.
That is designed for the gentleman farmer with discerning taste. Lol👍🏻
check out a bobcat toolcat. I have had one for 8 years and it's got everything that the gator has and more. You can actually do work with it. Just saying.
Those are like a gator mixed with a skid loader
@@MustObeyTheRules They are way stronger and more heavy duty than a gator. You can use all the attachments that a bobcat uses and it's an enclosed cab with AC and heat
@@MichaelJones1527 I’m well aware. I’m saying they have a similar look. Some have small dump bed, some 3 point. I’ve used a few of them doing small dirt jobs, plowing snow and moving pallets. They’re super slow tho, two speed tops out at like 17 mph
@@MustObeyTheRules I would rather have a useful piece of equipment than a fast useless piece of equipment.
@@MichaelJones1527 yea I’d probably agree with ya there although I’d rather just have a skid loader than a tool cat. I’d get a cheap old pickup truck over a gator too, that’s for sure.
You all must be very rich 35K is a lot for a 4 wheeler with a bed may be $3,500.00 I don't care if it was solid gold. You said 10K cheaper I say 33K cheaper can't even drive on road too slow. Thanks for sharing God bless you all.
UTV prices are absolutely insane... which is why Ill be building my own buggy. I really don't understand these big brands' race to the top price war they got going on. You know the markup on these things is criminal and is ultimately gonna probably lead to their demise as people figure this out.
Josh loves the Gator. 🐊 Agree, if you have the money, buy one. Why not. Woooo! ❤️🇺🇸
Has one of my coils in it. I build the heating coil for the company that builds the heater unit.
Nice
Arnt we suppose to be boycotting jd? Something to do with breach of contract if you tune or repair the equipment.
Glad you wore a matching color hat cause you need a lot of green for that toy Woooooo
Thanks for the vid! It’s always nice to see how the other half lives. :-)
In my opinion you are just buying the name when it comes to John Deere and you are going to really cry when it comes to buying parts because you can only buy the parts from them at twice the costs. There are a lot of better options out there that are better quality and and at a lot better price.
Your comment makes no sense. You can only buy Kubota parts from the dealer, you can only buy Case parts from the dealer, you can only buy New Holland parts from the dealer, you can only buy Polaris parts from the dealer - so, what's your point? The BS about JD parts being more expensive is not my experience. I've had both Ford and New Holland equipment and now have JD - the parts are expensive no matter what dealer you're buying them from. The difference is, I can actually GET the parts for a 25-year-old piece of equipment from JD while the NH dealer often told me, "that part isn't available anymore." That's the real difference.
@@buckhorncortez well I guess opinions are like ass holes ain’t they. Everybody’s got one. Lol
My feelings too...
Now I want one. But we can't even afford a 6,000 dollar side-by-side.
But we can give nasa 60 million a day
Josh the only reason for the shift handle to be backward is that if someone is sitting in the middle so there leg would not hit it when in drive.
Ya I wouldn’t want that shifter in the way while bumping and crawling around in low
I’m happy for your neighbor, very nice. If you want one and can afford it, I say go for it, America baby!
Awesome video, awesome machine, I just can’t believe they cost more than a good used pickup nowadays. Heck we oughta be able to just tag em and drive em on the road lol
There is for sure a reason to have a side by side. If you have new babies out in the pasture and you run over a leg of one in tall grass, it is better with a lighter side by side than a Jeep or pickup. That being said, I think picking and choosing which options are needed vs nice to have is a very personal decision for each buyer.
James River Equipment or Quality Equipment. Paying for the name and the green paint
I think you're paying for a machine that should last a lifetime...I agree it is expensive
I agree im not overly impressed with my john deere 6120. Kubota and the red tractors are just as capable for less price and john deere tractors aren't manufactured in the states
@@joey011582 Not all JD tractors are made in the US. However, the sub-compact and compact tractors are made in Georgia. John Deere Tractor Works in Waterloo, IA makes a variety of large tractor models. However, since JD is a global company, they have tractor factories all over the world so that they can tailor the equipment to local preferences and meet government standards for that market. To say that they make no tractors in the United State is false.
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer won’t last your lifetime unless you are eighty
I’m surprised seats are not weather proof. Looks pretty sweet. I bet for half that cost you could custom build a kick butt 4x4 Suzuki Samurai. Needs more lights for sure. Would love a follow up after he’s done with it.
he has a samurai, i have one with a lift and 31" tires. it goes just about anywhere and built it for less than 4k
@@davesilvia9711 Sweet! I thought he traded it for a jeep. Maybe it’s on his to do list.
Have 2012 gator and it has been through a tornado, hit trees, and been on its side. Good machines
We have this unit with all available options including front and rear LED work lights, VBoss snow plow, winch, satellite radio, etc. Had the KubotaRTV for years and this thing blows it away. Built like a tank with plenty of diesel power/torque. We use it for tasks all four seasons in Michigan.
so you paid $38k? wow...sorry not for me my brotha....I'll take an affordable side by side and buy a nice used tacoma that I can take to town
That was a honest review.I think they should have a longer bed, for it is used for work and where in that short bed can you put a load of wood etc. The cvt transmission was also used in the nissan Rouge and now the ford ranger. They where having trouble with them in the nissan rouge and never fixed the issues.Thoes belts do go out and expencive to replace. They do not last no ware near as long as a reg.transmissions.
I have a 20 something foot bubba rope and it works great, like a big rubber band doesn’t hurt the stuff it’s hooked up to
the shift lever is backwards because of safety with it in drive the lever is up where it shouldn't pierce anyone when you hit something
hmmm...maybe we should tell Chrysler this...most minivans have the shifter upright just like this
That gator cost more then a 200hp Can Am Maverick X3 with 22 inches of suspension travel😶
But they are different devices. Would you tow a trailer with a X3? Maybe…
My 2016 gator has the same rubber hood latches and at 5 yrs they are still good as new.
I think you’re right about a few things but I still think the price is crazy even if they did it. They should be having all those extra lights in there, especially on the front and the back of the top of the cab. 35 grand is just ridiculous and typical John Deere pricing, like their $200 electric drills that are the same as the $90 ones everyone else sells. Don’t get me wrong I love John Deere but they’re not exactly economical on a lot of things.
Love my '17 825i with the German made DeLuxe cab with heat, wiper... Everything except the radio. 11,000 miles and 700 hours. Love the full glass door cab. Looks like a Bell helicopter🤣Salt roads in New Hampshire are not your friend. Exhaust system desolves in 3 years. 46 mph top speed 👍
I got rid of my 825I because I had nothing but problems out of it...some are great, some are simply garbage...I have a honda pioneer now and love it!
As far as that hood goes, I'd like to see if first hand, but hard rigid plastic cracks way to easy and if that will be more resistant to cracking/breaking I wouldn't mind it. The side tabs made of rubber should be ok. My '05 Yamaha Rhino hood tabs are still going strong, same type of material.
No way Josh. There is no way. Might as well burn cash. I'll keep my $13k Kubota RTV900X all day long. Who needs HVAC when you are supposed to be sweating, not riding! The only way I could justify something like that would be on a ranch out west with thousands of acres. But even then I'd rather have a used Toyota pickup.
I dont know a lot about these things so maybe someone can help out...at that price what is the advantage of buying this over a new base model Jeep Wrangler, other than the tiny dump bed?
Good for your neighbor that sure looks like an awesome machine personally I’ll stick with my can am defender
Aluminum foil tape, like you use on HVAC systems, holding the hood together and bungee cords holding it down. Five years from now? I think sooner.
back when i first bought my 835r i didn't spend quite that much($34-instead-hehe) i put the jd plow on mine--no tax write off for me. guess just a mid-life crisis for me. now if i could of gotten electric windows i would of for sure.
u said abot how queit it was-boy ur lucky-cause mine sure isn't. now on dirt-ok. on blacktop with the maxi's u have to roll the window down in the summer. made me get different style tires just for the summertime. but i sure love mine.
I do this with bass boats. I do it with bass boats because I have a passion for Fishing. I don't have the same passion for a utv. My utv is half this price which works for me. I tip my hat to you if that's what you want to do. Hope you enjoy the JD.
I’d like to see an auxiliary fuel tank in the empty space between the cab and tool box. I feel that it would be a great use of space and you wouldn’t need to fuel up for a very very long time.
looks awesome. if it doesn’t break the bank, have at it!
Been there done that with the Gators, not reliable enough for me. My Defender arrives next month and I’m looking forward to being out of my Gator.
It’s nice but it’ll be collecting dust at the dealership waiting on me to buy it 😆
Whew that thing has everything that a Cadillac has. I dont have a Cadillac though. I just look over at the dog and the cluttered floor board of my 12 year old truck and think if I get something new i will have to move all that stuff. Got over being in a hurry years ago, might be why I dont need a winch on the front of the truck, if its that muddy I walk and its usually not crowded when you walk in the mud. Kind of enjoy the quite.
Buy it! You can write it off as an expense for your farm! You only live once and your wife will love it!!!!!
We've got a Kubota....but I wouldn't mind John Deere sending one out for a demo lol
I remember mu buddys dads farm he had a gator close to that one had ac in it heat and windows like that one. well we used it to get the wagons out of the barn and his gator was getting fixed so he used the loan er as a work horse i thought he was gonna wreck it for sure.
Guessing park is in the bottom to make more room for three people while running around gets the shifter up out of the way.
Here it is 2 years later and and the price of Side by Sides today is crazy. Polaris Crew Cab Expeditions are pushing $50k now. Crazy.
Shifter seems to be designed that way to give more passenger space..
Very nice job Josh. I love your information video reviews. Keep up the good work!
The park is at the bottom because with 3 large adults the lever would be in the way during travel with H or L at the bottom
yep makes sense kinda.....ask me how many times my neighbor has accidentally jammed it into reverse? Why not simply move the shifter lever up and closer to the operators position? In my mind it's simply a backwards design
Very very nice if you have a lot of blow money and farm for the fun of it. Too expensive for a farm side/side. I’ll stick with my $20k less Kawasaki mule.
Some folks drive Kia...some drive Mercedes....it's all about what brings value to your life my friend
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer, Sorry, but this about pissing money away and the whole, ''look at me'' situation. Your Skiddy costs way less and gets way more work done than this.

Great video as always.

For 35k, I would think little things like auxiliary lighting would be standard. For 35k, I would expect it to loaded to the hilt. For less than 35k, you could get a decent used pick up with money leftover to upgrade the suspension for off roading on the farm. Just my opinion, but some people will buy anything with that expensive green color "molded" on it.
The shift lever is fine. What is backwards is the crank windows. Opposite of a truck
In Australia this would be over 50K! For that we can buy a new Toyota utility, brand new Toyota utilities start at the mid 25K lvl. What is the benefit of the Gator? A utility is cheaper and more capable for farm life so am struggling to see the worth of this.
I Love how your hat is the same colour as the gator x Im a woman and cant drive but that thing has no horn oh goodness xx Wooooo xx
Do you need to service an Hydro-static Drive ? . . i bought a John Deere E110 Ride-on-Mower/ Lawn Tractor and the user/service manual does not say anything about servicing the Hydro-static Drive (replace oil? ) ....it does not have any drain plugs on the hydro-static drive either.
as cheap as radios/bluetooth are now a days, JD should of definitely included some sort of stereo, especially at $35k
If you need it and can fit it in your budget its best to own it outright or asap payoff.
Low cost parts from around the world assembled in America 🇺🇸 charging the customers big $$$$

Hi.... Thank you 🎥👍👍👍
The folks who blow money like this probably inherited it. No one who actually worked and sweated for their money would blow it like this.
I'm dreaming of an empty check book
Very nice, 35 grand nice, I don't think so. For that price all the optional lights should be standard, power windows should be standard. I think 20 grand be more in line. But, at any price point, someone will pay the price
I love those side by side because they are safety
I have a 2019 835M, gas engine in Olive Drab/Flat Black with black wheels. I have tool racks on the sides of the bed which work great, carry weed eater and pole saw and long handle tools. I have a front rack, very useful. Been a great machine, especially on those cold and rainy days.
The hate for the guy who bought this is crazy. Personally I wouldn't buy it but I think it really cool.
People are buying them every day.....equipment is expensive for sure!
When you are successful, especially in the farming/ranching sector, the haters come out of the woodwork. The only thing one can do it keep buying more and smile.
Look up Coleman 550. Largely same machine minus a couple creature comforts for $9000. Love mine. Your neighbor overpaid for that JD.
Pretty slick unit. I'd like to see it do some real work. Bobcat makes the toolcat. Basically a glorified gator that you can put attachments on. I think for that kind of money I'd be looking more in that direction
I have seen other reviews on this Gator and many bad reviews and many dislikes.
I've got an 835R... bought in July 2019... added turn signals and side mirrors... gas model ... has exactly absolutely everything you're showing except the tool box. Has a little over 200 hours and over 2,000 miles and the farther we've driven away from the farm is 16 miles away. But we give our Border Collie a "ride" almost every day. He thinks it's HIS GATOR.... LOL! .... Love it! Replaced one truck on the farm.... Only down side is the tires... Getting new ones next week (on order)...not buying the same...they don't wear worth a darn. Expect the right front to wear in the middle of the tire... My dealer said, "right front, right?" I said, "Yep" He said, "They all do" ...but he didn't know why. Things must be more expensive where you live. I paid $27,500 for mine! Yes, I bought it brand new!
I think u could survive with the 2 latch tail gate I have a cub and love it
Wow. That's a lot. I'm now one of those old guys that doesn't get prices anymore.
It looks pretty-derned cool, though!
We are going on two years on ours we absolutely love it we gave 25,000 for it the AC and heat works awesome
people will slam this as being a "stupid expense" while they go out and spend that much on a fishing boat, or twice that much on a camper..
remember: "different strokes for different folks"
Amen...how many $50k campers are sitting in someone's back yard rotting away getting used 2 times a year
