I will never forget the piercing eulogy her brother, Charles Spencer, delivered at Diana's funeral. It was filled with the respect and love he felt for his sister and the disdain he felt about the way she had been treated by the Royal family and in particular, Her Majesty. Those words remain in my memory. It was an unbelievable speech.

@Poolie Hpool I didn't feel sympathy for her at first either but then watched a bunch of documentaries on her and was able to see things from her perspective and saw what she felt. No, she wasn't forced to marry Charles but it wasn't until after they had been engaged for quite some time that she found out about Camilla and realized Charles didn't actually love her. I think she thought about calling off the wedding but was afraid of letting not only The Royal Family down but all of England as well. I can't imagine the pressure she must have felt to please all of those people.

The one thing that the Monarchy never anticipated was how much Diana was loved by the people. No one cared about the Monarchy until Diana became apart of it. She was unlike any other royal. She was compassionate and caring. She was such a sharp contrast to what people had known about the Royals. At least one thing we know is that the queen couldn't deny that Diana was loved. Even if she didn't care for her, the people did and that's all that matterd.

You have to stand there and greet them and meet every one of them, listen to what they have to say and express your condolences to them, not the other way around. Because YOU are the person that makes sure the one who passed is seen off with dignity and if it is an event that is followed closely by the public eye, your grief does not matter as much as the impact the dead had one those that stayed behind. You make sure everything works, you smile and you allow yourself to be happy because there will be easier days to come.

When she was offered flowers for herself, she realized that people hadn't turned against her and were sympathetic to her because her grandchildren had lost someone important in their lives. She had thought she wouldn't receive anything but hostility and negativity, and those flowers were a way of the public saying, "We are glad you are here and sorry for your loss". I'm American, but I always admired Diana for her big heart and willingness to go into the trenches so to speak. She wasn't afraid to tread where many people wouldn't. Visiting people in extreme poverty and illness, spending time with them, holding them and comforting them. That's one major thing I will always remember.

I remember this all too well, it still makes me cry, the whole nation was crying and wheeping, and then silent until the Queen spoke. It was some kind of closure they were looking for but we were so much in shock that we couldn't handle the loss regardless of her words, we miss the Princess to this day!!!! :( I miss her like a mother.

I’ll never forget the day we heard the news. I was in Idaho visiting my mother, and we were out in the yard when a neighbor came by and told us she died. I immediately thought of her young sons. That hit me really hard. Now the U.K. lost their Queen. What is that family going to do without her. She was the solid rock that held everything together.

She is not important enough. Harry is 6th in line and will never be king. Diana was supposed to be the queen. Also she was a British noble the daughter of the 8th Earl Spencer. She built her reputation as a genuine philanthropist. She did stuff nobody had done before her and were considered taboo around the world ( touching and hugging HIV patients) Raising the land mine issue by actually walking through them. Megan is just plastic.

Diana like myself was a 1961 year birth, split parents, and just I seem to have a lot in common with her. She was so loveable beyond belief.
