    I got mine on the 22/04/2023 and have now done 4750 miles - I love it. Smooth, powerful, moderately quick and built like a bank safe. The software cries wolf too often for my liking, but there is a fix on the way and I have some minor issues with door seals retaining water. Looking at the underneath, it makes an old Defender look dainty. The Grenadier is not "dainty", at 2.7T it is too heavy, but the size of the axles, (from Carraro), and the chassis, (from Gestamp), go a long way to show where that weight has collected. The chassis is painted like an oil rig, (not galvanised), the fixed body panels are galvanised, the moveable panels are all alloy, (but don't feel it). I am looking forwards to a long and happy ownership, (having sold a 1989 LR110CSW and a 1991 LR90D to help pay for it).

      It looks like it is. I imagine folks will find out pretty quickly how well it is sealed. At least it should be easy to replace, in some versions of the Landcruiser it is between the cylinder banks.

    You was too kind 😉 at least you tested the ground clearance 😳. Steering damper is very low and the front and rear guards will get you stuck on steep soft going

    • @Ardventures
      @Ardventures Před rokem

      Plus you can get 2 Hi Lux Invincibles for the price of one Grenadier . Also the commercial Grenadier is not VAT qualifying neither is the double cab pickup. They say they can only make around 20,000 per annum, of which 6000 for the UK. I think they are prepared to risk the fact they have no tax advantages and hope they have 6000 private orders. Land Rover lost money on there old Defenders and at best built 20,000 PA, they now can make 125,000 profitable New Defenders PA

    • @hedydd2
      @hedydd2 Před rokem +1

      @@Ardventures About ⅔ of those 6000 must be commercial vehicles. Unless even the passenger glazed ones are classed as ‘commercial’ with the attendant lower speed limits, and considering that VAT is not reclaimable on the commercials due to the low payload, they will struggle to sell the part panel-sided commercials to anyone. I cancelled my Grenadier five seat panel version when I confirmed that the VAT and income tax relief did not apply and saved over £30,000 plus the tax relief by buying a new Ford Ranger Wildtrak 2.0, which will also save me a lot of fuel on top. For a commercial fleet, they could buy three Ranger Wildtraks for the price of two Grenadier Quartermasters and still have a couple of Grand change. The latest Fords have full time 4wd by the way and the power to weight ratio of even the 2.0 biturbo is better than the Grenadier’s.

    Good lord the underside of that is vulnerable. The steering damper would get smashed to bits on the rocks where I wheel, they should have tucked that up more. I wonder if you can re-route it? At least the trans is tucked up but that needs and armor and the transfer case is low and unarmored 🤦‍♂️ doesn’t look like it has a fuel skid either. Not sure where the oil pan is. This all sucks because it is more $ needed to be spent after purchase on an already pricy rig. This shit should be standard, at least on any model with lockers. What about the angle on the driveshaft- will that needed to be corrected for a lift to fit 33s or 35s? Seeing now how vulnerable a lot of the underbits are that for me would be a number 1 priority for my uses.
    Thanks for the vid. This is one of the more interesting veh to come out but trying to get legit info on it and not just a marketing brochure has been tough. I wish i could have done a test drive day when they were around, but alas work.

      The Fieldmaster is meant for just that - field use. Not hard trails. The Trialmaster has a lot more underbody protection, I believe.

      @@spdcrzy so you’re telling me they built a $72K body on frame, solid front and rear axle vehicle to drive across grass? News flash, a Corolla can do that. Stop making excuses. They built a potentially great offroader and then made some dumb decisions and absolutely botched the pricing, at least in NA. Just classic I need to go to REI and buy mountaineering gear to walk my dog on the grass field in the park so everyone knows Im outdoorsy.

    I bought mine a couple months ago, but I haven't seen it for the last 5 weeks and counting. The vehicle has a cabin heater/ aircon fault, and despite several attempts, Ineos Technical don't seem to have a clue how to fix the fault.
    Not that they will lose any sleep - they have been paid in full for the vehicle, so they'll get around to fixing it in their own time.
    I bought this 4x4 because I need it for work - but Ineos will not lend me a replacement. Why would they, I have paid in full and have no leverage.
    I wrote to Lynn Calder Ineos CEO to try to get some movement on this fix - no response from the boss, zilch. So, she clearly doesn't care.

I’ve also seen a few videos with one owner returning it as the quality control really isn’t there yet and the dealers just fobbing customers off!

He also made a profit on the sale. Plus, when you hear him talk, he had no clue what he ordered. He complained about the rear seat position despite him ordering the commercial version which indicated the rear seats sat closer to front so you could fir a Euro pallet in the back. The same guy who made comments that he was going to turn it into a G wagon for half the price with making different rim selections to make it look cooler. Get a rear wheel cover like G wagon.
