The Ford by a landslide
The Mustang of course is my favourite
Mustang sounds much better!!
Sounds like a modern iteration of Cosworth DFV. Those were proper race engines
0:27 dang that thing is choppin 🪓
That race cam. I wish someone could get a compilation of just race cars loping
tap dancing
😅 you all gave me a thumbs up even though I typoed half my comment 😂. Mvp.
@@akafxde7245 Not race cars but godly nonetheless czcams.com/video/kwQbeWixLvo/video.html
It sounds like it has a big camshaft, but I believe it's class limits it to about 550HP. Weight of the car is a determining factor.
Had the pleasure of going for a run in the street version of this absolutely fantastic S tier car
Corvette C8.R vs Corvette Z06 GT3.R side by side. Now that would be cool
C8 R is heaven !!! GM killed it with that chassis... world beater
We’ll see.. will GM run it at LeMans.. Ford did, and dominated (which I detest!)..
@@bullast2046 Well they've done exactly that with the last 2 Corvette generations and they dominated their classes in both* Clearly the latest C8 generation is the fastest most road course oriented of all so I'm sure they'll have a great showing (if not outright win their class;)
Those are all restricted cars. Why build a unrestricted one for test. Make no sense, guy. Porsche did it with the purpose of destroying all track records, and it cost millions . Just for pride.
Gm has no interest in that, just pure sales.
You ain't fooling, nobody, is just a click bait
@@kevindavidson2291my man, they had the newest car in GTE when all their competitors stop putting in full support for the program because more attention was put towards GT3.
Plus you have to think about how incompetent GM is, those fools said they can't extract anymore performance from a front engine RWD platform, even though Aston Martin was kicking their butts.
So instead they just make a Walmart Great Value Ferrari, and guess what, Lexus is beating them now with the front engine rwd platform that GM said they can't extract anymore performance out of.
@@felixsantiago5606 Unrestricted in the case of GT cars means no restrictor plate capping the flow of air to the engine to control/reduce power for BoP. Everything else should be the same for testing.
I miss the sound of the C6R and C7R. They sounded so damn good
C8 is cringy car
It represents everything wrong in mdoern car industry
Road/track
@@mohnnadmercedes8246 at least it isn't a twin turbo v6
The pushrod motors had a raspy angry sound that cant be matched.
@@ChuckBeefOG True story
C5r too
The C7.r and Porsches 911 rsr from 2017-2019 was a symphony of sound that we dont hear in gt racing these days
this c8 zo6 gt3r sounds a million times better than the normal v8 of the c7 and c7r
@@benjaminmartindale You seriously need your hearing checked. This thing sounds like positively awful. Maybe they could tune it differently to get low end rumble? Sometimes it sounds like a 6 cylinder. And you know how putrid that sounds. Maybe it's just how flat plane V8's sound. Listen to a Ferrari....it's also nauseating if it's a V8. MB and BMW have great sounding, rumbling V8's. Let's face it....almost all V8's sound wonderful. This one doesn't. But it does have great performance, no question. Must be a dream to drive.
Saw them at the glen in 2019. The sound of the c7r and the rsr was incredible
@swilhelm3180 I think it sounds okay, i like it. But then again i've always preferred the flat plane sound to cross plane V8s, and i know thats a rather unpopular opinion
100% saw them battle at Daytona in packs. Super cool... VRAAAAAAA VRAAAAAA............... RRRRBBBBMMMMMMMM RRRRRRBBBMMMMM!!!
What an amazing machine! Way to go Chevy. That car is simply amazing
That high idle exhaust sounds like it's saying "Here to Thump Ya"!❤😂
I miss the old growl and grunt.
This car was specifically designed to destroy the Ferraris & Lambos. It actually does too!
I mean, it’s still around. Just in a different car
They been doing that with the pushrod engine for years
@@fobbitoperator3620
Base model C8 is what you're looking for. Lots of aftermarket for it too.
Best you're gonna get is the Cadillac LMDh car in IMSA. Hearing all of its peers with turbo'd engines makes it sound a lot better.
sounds restricted to me
Pretty sure the “unrestricted” in the title is just for clickbait
Sounds muffled
Probably talking about intake restrictions.
Fortuna
It is restricted in air flow to the engine which limits the combustion thereby limiting the horsepower. They call it balance of performance or BOP. It's supposed to make different manufacturers and designs all be competitive without one being dominant over the other. There's other aspects to BOP as well like weight added or removed, and downforce restrictions and so on and so forth.
That´s kind of noise we need in a race car, just amazing! Awesome video, we can't be tired to hear this amazing car.
Great footage !! Ty for the post.. Dat audio,, who dat !!
sounds beatiful!!I still think it is restricted, tho. It's not the biggest muffler but still it is muffled
Restricted refers to a throttle restrictor plate specified by class rules, not a restrictive or unrestrictive exhaust system.
Are they limiting the RPMs? Seems like these could rev a lot higher than in this video. @@BusterChestnuts
think it must also have some strange headers. Doesn't reach the high notes you'd expect from an even firing racing motor
“Restricted” means it has FIA intake manifold restrictors, nothing to do exhaust system
@@BusterChestnuts Corvette has always been the most restricted WEC/IMSA car. How many stock Lexus can beat a stock C8. NONE. Yet Lexus takes poles all the time. IMSAs BOP picks the winners.
Sweet video coverage!
Sounds so good.
God I love this car
love this.
LONG LIVE THE V-8 !!!!!!!!!!
Que carro lindo droga!! Esse ronco agudo 🙆♂️🔥
The exhaust note is a departure from what I love about a Chevy V-8 but its still my favorite sportscar so I'll get over it 😏
Pushrods forever!!!! 😂
@@mariocooldude9092chevy this is the 6th decade you’ve brought a pushrod V8 to show and tell! lol
@mariocooldude9092 Don't you know it. Even though the pushrod v8 lacks the "technology" of other combustion engines, it's still been able to hold its own. And in the straight line world the pushrod v8 reigns supreme, period. 🤙🤙👍👍👊👊✌️✌️
Car sounds great! And back on Goodyear's for the first time in about 20 years.
Beautiful!
looks soo good!!
such an awesome car
Gorgeous 😍😍😍
I really do miss the old 'NASCAR V8' sounding race engines. The flat-plane is great, but it sounds like a European car now.
I agree. These engines sound good, but there is nothing quite like the old school American V8. Those are like a symphony of engine sounds.
I hate to say it, but the old C6 race cars sounded WAY better. It's not even a comparison honestly.
That just sounds amazing.
I grew up a Euro centric race car enthusiast. But I must admit Corvettes and Cadillacs have come a long way since the 60’s. I still think the Can Am cars of the 60’s sounded more brutal.
Very Nice:))
Love it
Now that’s a ride with the devil under that boot lid 😈 🔥
Stunning machines ❤
With headphones on... DELICIOUS ❤
I remember the '04 team coming to Sicily for a meet and greet with service members
I love seeing how the downforce & aero works thanks to the rain 👍
LeMans won't be the same without the noise of the C7, but the C8 looks like it can be competitive in the WEC this year.
We got the Cadillac v series r which has a similar engine.
The C8R won the 24hr LeMans 2023🎉
Fantastic Machine
Those cars are so badass
Sensational
beautiful beautiful
Bro that Flag on th3 Hood 🫡
It’s so strange to hear the flat plane exhaust note come from a corvette.
Yup. Corvettes used to sound unique and we always knew what was coming. Now they sound like everything else. Give me the old Cross-Plane crank V8 engine over a Flat-plane crank V8 everyday and twice on Sunday.
Very odd indeed compared to the flat plane Yamaha R1. Too much compromise between either too low or too high. Noise regulation is the death of motoring
I will nvr like it compared to the old motors
@@bradleyd6000it never sounded unique buddy…
@@thehendleys1 people just say anything these days lol
That's the sound of a real race (or) car
Those are the baddest ass looking vettes I have ever seen and heard!!! Wow!! Chevy needs to enter Corvette into Les Mans like Ford did and that Camaro from last season! Let's go!!!
Corvette race at Lemans in the 1960s. And they've been racing in it every year since 1996 with 11 Championship 24HR LeMans wins across the C5, C6, C7 and last year now the C8. Including last year. Ford will never match that
I like how they go around corners
love to hear the same sound as the C8 GTE
Wow ❤
GM cars are the only cars in the racing that run normally aspirated engines. thats a testament of how well there engines are built.
Not true, in this series Lexus/Mercedes uses NA V8, Audi/Lambo NA V10, Porsche NA Flat 6.
Ferrari, BMW, Mclaren have turbos in their GT3 cars.
Your right last year Mercedes Lexus & the GM cars were the only one. Porsche uses a turbo.
In the prototype class GM were the only one.Correct me if im wrong. I dont think Lambo has pass all qualifications yet.
I love it sounds mental😊
It sounds like either a chainsaw or a Weedwhacker or two cycle motorcycle
Paint scheme on this team is awesome
Shift is so fast insane damn ❤
Back body its so cool
This a factual statement: C6 and C7s sound good.
Absolutely.. But, the C8.R flat-plane V8 sounds delicious. 🤌🤌
Miss my 2 C6s. I'm not the biggest fan of the C8's proportions (overall design is alright, but something just doesn't sit right about the rear, also no manual). I do love the Z06's engine though, always been a fan of exotic sounds.
Lovely. Do you have any footage of the United Autosports Mclaren? :)
That's one angry sounding bumblebee
The flat plane crank means you need to bang thru all the gears like a motorbike to keep it in the narrow powerband. The even firing pulses of a flat plane crank allow you to run more boost without grenading the intake manifold while eliminating the uneven audio clues coming from the intake on a normally aspirated engine; which also makes it easier to get in past your head when pushing hard
Wonderfull vehicles
The Road Z06 with an exhaust sounds way better
usually I don't like the sound of this engine, but with this setup it sounds like a slightly large lower reving ferrari v8, still doesn't pop or scream the same way a 458 or f430 gtc/gte do
Sounds lovely. What track is this? Imola?
This is 1 meeeen masheeeen!
Sounds angry AF. Especially when idling🤘🇺🇸
I miss the 7 liter V8
This sounds so much better than any cross-plane American V8

Music! Mechanical symphony!
how the HELL do I become a professional racer? DO THIS FOR A LIVING!?!?! YES
have a rich dad who believes in your potentially futile dreams
first, start w/lots of money, then spend that money on getting a racer's license /attend driving/racing schools, buy the car/bike for the series you want to start in (cut your teeth on), beat everyone like they're standing still...then move up the racing competition ladder and rinse and repeat...did I mention start with lots of money? Sure, you can buy used cars, so in that case, go race in the MX-5 Cup and never look back.
Typically wealthy parents that get their kids started in karting at a very early age. Otherwise, you're already way behind the ball.
I still get astonished by the amount of grip cars can generate. Especially on wet tracks.
Best damn car bar none! GO CORVETTE!
Corvette Racing sure helped the C8 road car be an affordable super car !!!!!!!!!!!!!
No no. Bring back the old sound
Sounds more Ferrari than the current Ferrari gt3
Sera porque son motores totalmente distintos, no se te ocurre eso. 😂.
the 296 GT3 sounds like a wet fart
Sounds a lot like bored and stroked 458 GT3 😅🔥
If the Zora looks even close to this thing, I'll mortgage my house!
Those shifts
🔥🔥🔥
The sound of the Corvette remineds me of the good old Ferrari 488 GT3 realy nice. Do you No If IT Drives in this years GT World Challenge?
Yes Gt World Challenge America run by DXDT
I love this car, I just can't see how it's a Corvette. In fact, the C8 being so undeniably NOT Corvette is actually what has driven my appreciation for ACTUAL vettes. I think I'd have a clean C5 z06 with the long rear window than a C8. (Obviously this comparison doesn't work with the GT3 car)
Wow, Forza Motorsport looks fantastic!
Your joking right?.... wtf
@@dme8560 I mean, you can tell that they are using the same car model from Forza 6 but still…Turn 10 has done a great job here. They even *almost* got the sound right!
@darronds you are mental my friend, It'll be one thing to think the car footage is fake. But those people are a 100% real And I can guarantee that they didn't insert fake footage on top of real footage.
@@dme8560 You have clearly never heard of Unreal Engine 5 and MetaHuman.
Almost the best looking GT40.... best looking clone at best!
GTE car was scary loud at Spa WEC round last year. Not sure if this is as loud.
This one is even louder
How many laps before it breaks down and needs repairs at the stealership?
The pipes on it seem like a smaller diameter. I wonder if that’s just for regulations or something else?
What a bad ass car man.
The more numbers and letters in a car's name, the cooler it is and the more it costs. This 'Vette is cool because it has a decimal point in its name. lol I like that one of these is sponsored by Q8. I used to race on a sailboat that had been sponsored by them.
like a BMW X3 x-drive 30i? that's a lot of letters/numbers in the name?
@@K03sport yup
@@K03sport or, Porsche 911 GT3 RS MR
@@K03sport Hey man, I was thinking about this and have come to the conclusion that the BMW doesn't meet the criteria. First of all, it has a hyphen in the name, NOT cool. And, it has an actual word, also not cool.
I was thinking more along the lines of something like Porsche 911 GT3 RS MR.
They should have named this beastly work of engineering art a Corvair, & kept the Corvette a front engine GT roadster.
I still love this car though! (yes, I'm a Ford guy)
How are Vettes stacking up to the competitors?
I like that it didn't end up sounding like a V8 Ferrari. More testosterone and beefier wedding tackle.
Chevy did a great job man finally an American 4 cam besides Coyote engine but Porsche GT3 still sounds better
The side exit rsr from a few years ago is my fav. One that gets overlooked is the 08 nsx. That highpitch but dronned sound is crazy. Even gt7 did a prity damn good job. With most gt3 and 4 the cars sound too fake but some they nailed
Chevrolet really managed to out Ferrari the Ferrari 😮
Seeing how Cadillac created the flat plane crank in the 1930s they just took back what was theirs
still missing the old shape and Growling sound.
Sound's like a really big bike.
I love every iteration of Corvettes. The C8 platform and flat plane engine design they adopted is my favorite by far.
TRIBUTE HOOD SCOOP🇺🇸🏁🚨
Sounding Ferrari V8!!!
Pues no hay duda, si Chevrolet compro un motor F136 de ferrari de un 458 italia para hacer el suyo con cigueñal plano. 🤷♂️
