so you just clip the line and leave the hook in its mouth?

We actually prefer not to do that. Since that show was filmed (several years ago) we started using a dehooking pole and were able to remove the majority of hooks with that. Occasionally that will not work and we still need to clip the line. We also switched to a hook that rusts very quickly if we leave it in.

Great video. I got excited just watching you guys.I currently live in Alaska and we enjoy some big halibut and Salmon fishing here.We are moving back to Maine and I can see what I'll be doing when I get there.Question can you eat the sharks. Are they all edible?

Most sharks are not particularly edible (though you can eat anything). They typically void their waste through the skin and that makes them taste like ammonia. Some sharks like Makos and Threshers have more developed urinary tracts and they taste good. However, killing sharks for food (though regrettably I have done this in the past), is a terrible practice. There fish are typically apex predators and killing them is an insult to the natural order. This is more personal opinion and everyone is welcome to their own. I like to think I am getting wiser as I get older.
