E - entful as usual Darlin. TIP:- Take a carrier bag with you everywhere. Slip the carrier bag on your foot (Over your boot), You can then easily slide your foot into your waterproofs. Repeat for the other foot and bingo. Enjoy your adventure.

I recently got back on a bike again after many years away from riding, completed my CBT and purchased my brand new bike, one you may be familiar with, the Sinnis Terrain 125..
I've heard conflicting stories regarding the tyres. Some have said the tyres supplied are good in the wet and others say get them changed to British road tyres as soon as possible as they are useless in the wet. Was just wondering what your opinion is on that and what your advice would be, stick with them or change them as soon as. Also the chain too, would you get a better one.?

Oh dear Saffy, you do have some unfortunate things happen to you on your travels. Nothing worse than what you encountered on this one. It is not all in vain though, since your first trip into Europe I have been donating to our local AIR AMBULANCE and will continue to do so whilst still riding, I am 75, so hopefully a few years still left. Motorways are not a necessary evil. I never use them on my motorcycling trips there are always better routes. Having to rush is a state of mind, me I like to enjoy the journey. It’s all to do with planning realistically.
Conversely I enjoy motorway travel by motorbike, and no, I don't rush. Happy to sit in lane 1 with the lorries at 60mph. @@davidmatthews3093

Lots of work is actually done by the people round the local area to maintain the air ambulance. Every livestock auction in the northwest contributes a massive amount of donations to the air ambulance. Àlso the farmers and the charity shops round here up in the dales as they rely on it more so than bikers

I just came back from two weeks of touring France and Switzerland, day 2 of my Journey, I get on my bike in the morning, not knowing I've just stepped in the stuff left by the B&B owner's dog, during the morning I transfer the stuff to my foot-pegs and then up my trouser leg. You're not alone. 😊 I felt your pain...💩happens as they say 🤣
It's honestly so selfish when people don't pick up after their pets, there's absolutely no excuse for it. If you can't clean up after a dog, don't get a dog 😤😤😤😤

If you plan your return trip via Antwerp try and visit the railway station there. Most cities see the railway station as your entrance to their city and want to show the splendour. Antwerp station is one of the most amazing places to see, you won't be disappointed. Safe ride
I prefer riding in the mountains and along the fjords, but the motorways do have its charm, to me at least.
Hope you’ll get a more delicate ride on the next stages. 🤙🏻

@SaffySprocket sh#t happens. I once set off on a 2 week road trip and went through a massive pile of horse crap on the road within the first few miles. Stank all day. Ended up having to wash my bike trousers under a tap! It all makes the journey more memorable 😅

Hey sprocket how do you handle the different language barriers in different countries? I’m from the US I don’t have really that much problem.
80% of people in Europe speak English, for emergency situations like attending hospital, I keep an old tablet with Google translate installed for translation important things :-) oh top on that, all you need to learn is 4 phrases for each country "yes, no, thank you and Can I have a carrier bag" 😂😂😂

You really should wear your emergency device on your suit so you can get to it in an emergency. you could become separated from your bike in an accident and br unable to get to it. Lets hope that will never happen but who on earth knows

I like it a lot! I think it's increased my confidence a lot about riding adventure bikes!

I hear a lot of people are swapping out the sprockets for a better final ratio.
@@Merc-RoverIt’s the standard gearing that makes the 500X so good. Changing to a 16 tooth front sprocket might make it a better commuter bike for some people but it will lose its edge when heavily laden or riding in hills and mountains. After 20,000 km on my 500X it’s something that I’d never consider.
