ARROZ A LO POBRE: The traditional Spanish "POOR MAN'S RICE" recipe (with tips from a Spaniard!)

  • Arroz a lo pobre, which can be translated as the "poor man's rice" is a typical Spanish dish that the Spaniards have been making since the times of war. What makes this dish so convenient is that you can use the ingredients that you have at hand and customize it. The delicious mixture of vegetables, fish, egg and rice will turn whatever you have at hand into a colorful feast! Ready? Let's get started! :)
    Ingredients:
    - 1 cup of rice
    - 3 cups of water
    - 1 onion
    - 1 red pepper
    - 1 green pepper
    - 3 garlic cloves
    - 1 carrot
    - 50 grams of mushroom
    - 1 tin of tuna
    - 1 small glass of grated tomato
    - 2 eggs (1 egg per person)
    - half a lemon
    - balsamic vinegar
    - olive oil
    - 2 teaspoons of paprika
    - salt & black pepper
