Some would say the yellow of this corporation would match how they acted during their time. However perhaps the truth is that Kisaragi never had the time or resources to stand on even ground as their rivals.
Crest and Mirage right after the suicide drone attack: so you did some research on ancient tech and then let an apocalypse happen? Kisaragi: ah... eto... bleh.
I'm sure Kisaragi placed the blame on the Raven they hired to put a stop to the threat, for failing the mission. Who conveniently couldn't speak in their own defense.
The impression I get from Kisaragi is that they were a much smaller group (possibly 10% as big) compared the the other 2. They were struggling on the brink of irrelevance and annihilation for their entire existence. The technologies they pioneered really feed into that sense of desperation - they experiment with bioweapons, flamethrowers, deployable weapon pods, and they don't really get into mainstream parts, like heads or legs. I don't know if they never had the manufacturing ability, if the other corps were sabotaging them, or both. The distribution of their activities: mines, forest, mountains, makes me think they were pushed to the hinterlands, or conversely, that they occupy remote areas that Crest and Mirage aren't interested in controlling. A coherent interpretation makes Kisaragi a conglomerate of separate, smaller entities, with limited central control. As opposed to Crest, Mirage, and even Navis HQ (or strongest holdings), we never really see a 'Kisaragi HQ'. Maybe it doesn't exist, or it's just a small wing in one of their facilities. That independence is seen in Nexus, when the executives get held hostage, but especially in Last Raven, where the bio-weapons scientists are still conducting research (if I recall correctly). Kisaragi was probably comparatively poor and unpopular in-universe. How many ACs ever fight on Kisaragi's behalf? There's Claizen in 3, as mentioned, but I can't think of any more. Heck, even Navis could afford Pin Fire and Rim Fire (two of the most capable Ravens at the time); Crest had their own private stable of Ravens, but Kisaragi? Nobody was really on their side. Similar deal with MTs. You have some that were made by Crest and Mirage; what about Kisaragi? Besides bioweapons, all the big MTs they use seem to be made by the Big 2 (it's worth speculating how outside organizations got hold of their company MTs, but that's a whole other story). The real-life counterpart that strikes me as most similar is DHL. Compared to UPS and FedEx, DHL has much lower volume, but has carved out a niche in international deliveries and the ability to get your package ANYWHERE in the world. I think From Software hated this group. They always seemed to suffer the most, and despite their sometimes sophisticated research, it was their recklessness that caused the suicide weapon attack. Mirage flew transports over Navis' stronghold, getting many personnel killed needlessly; and they lost their entire expeditionary force in the mine in Nexus. Crest betrayed Navis and had to destroy its own expeditionary force. But Kisaragi was still presented as an even bigger and more unfortunate group of fools. I think that says something. Unrelated note: I was thinking that Kisaragi didn't really have an impact on the games but that lead me to other topics. I started thinking about Layered from 3 and the other Layered from Silent Line and how I don't recall any mention of either of them in Nexus or Last Raven. Does anybody know what happened to them? Is there any official story that those places got abandoned, destroyed by the suicide weapons, used as shelters, anything? I'm realizing those might be really big plot holes.
It really does seem the controller was the one that allowed our yellow corporation here to stand on equal ground with Crest and Mirage. After which thier bacon was saved again by the AI of silent line who was keeping the two bigger players busy before finally Kisaragi met at it end at its own hands. I would be surprised if mirage was not harassing them with some raids or Crest who went out its way during silent line to try and take land from them.
I'm absolutely combing over your channel with the announcement of AC6. I don't want to miss out on the story anymore! Haha. You have a great way of explaining things in a way that makes sense and I can understand.
Thank you Nova that very kind of you to say. And let me say back that I've been enjoying your videos as a great way to see some odd mecha games. Keep it up.
I thought you would do a breakdown of the new gameplay trailer from any observations you can make, ofcourse youd expect Vaati and others to do it but no one is at your level in the lore overall. I hope when the game comes out your channel blows up as the library to visit for any pre-AC6 knowledge and the then currently new lore
Thank you for you kind words and I'll be honest i have my hands full at the moment with video of the story of LR along with keeping the weekly lore coming out. But i will give it a once over just to add my two cents to the pile when i can.
The individual parts of the production-run ACs they put out were originally planned to be usable. I don't remember the part names, but a guy who cracked open Nexus found 'em.
Thanks again for another great video! Always had a soft spot for this corporation, maybe because I was slightly against many of the post 3 AC part designs. The Core part is really cool and great for spamming OB
@@armoredcorelore almost done. Just recorded voiceover, and yesterday got Demons Souls and Armored Core 2 & FA B-roll cut up for the background. I basically just need to make a thumbnail, make another 22 minute extended mix of an AC soundtrack song, and then glue it all together in a cohesive fashion. Should be releasing tonight. :) Looking at 22 minute essay this time. I'm feeling pretty good about it.
I was a bit disappointed with Kisaragi in that they never made a bio weapon that an Armored Core could use, as I think that would have made them stand out way more than they already did. I did like their AC design they had in Nexus, too bad we only get the core. But what I always liked about both Balena and Kisaragi was their internal and supplemental parts, as they were normally number one above the other two corporations in those categories.
From what I read, Nexus was gonna have the Kisaragi AC as a whole set (head, core, arm, and leg). There some unfinished files in Nexus related to this but for whatever reason, FROM either scrapped it or were rushed and didn't have time to implement it.
Kisaragi, the maker of bio weapon. Somehow no one blame kisaragi for the out of control bio weapon. They did a good job hiding it. If everything going south, blowing up facility is good way for them to get rid the evidence of their bio weapon experiment just like they did in last raven.
Spiritual successor to Balena, albeit more openly ruthless and subversive. They also ruined everything like Balena tried to. They were a bit more successful in that regard, though it wasn't entirely their fault... Like Balena, they tend to make more of the internals and other things you don't think about as much (though best generators go to Crest and Mirage this time around...in AC3 and SL, anyways) They also made the OP-INTENSIFY part...until they didn't.
So, now that you've seen the gameplay trailer...Thoughts? For my part I couldn't be more excited. Like I was already psyched after the cinematic trailer, but that gameplay trailer looks INSANE. September can't come soon enough! :D
They did my boy dirty for committing communism without consent, and proceed to get clapped throughout the generation. Their few yet respectable quality part are always had sweetspot on me, mainly the radiator (and OP-I). And the fact such oppressed faction even manage to manufacture OP-I is such gigachad movement. ─ Unrelated comment 4:16 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! DON'T REMIND ME TO THAT NIGHTMARE!
