My father was a young man in Czechoslovakia when the Germans moved in. He had German friends in Sudetenland, I used to have old black a white pictures of them on holiday together. His solution was to escape Czechoslovakia, go to England and join the British army so that he could fight the Germans from the other side. Sadly after returning to Czechoslovakia after the war he soon found he had to escape again as Russia was taking over. It is greatly distressing that all that could be about to happen again.

Disabling data cables simultaneously at two points allows for the installation of a device at the central point. Given that the distance exceeds 300 km, it suggests that the sabotage was intended to install something extremely difficult to detect. This device could potentially monitor data cable traffic. German officials should investigate this.

You tend to forget, that within every EU-package, NATO-package, there are alsoo individual state-packages send to Ukrain. When NATO can't decide, when EU can't decide, when US can't decide... we send material individualy... that is the difference between the US and the EU. Our states can alsoo (within certain marges), deploy our own measures to aid Ukraine. Smaller yes, but important never the less.. ;-)

@@Jamie_D Well, what a politician says in public, isn't always the truth. It's often carefully worded so that people can hear what they want to hear, but deniability is retained. If they were allowed to use these weapons on ruZZian soil, they had plenty of time where they knew 50000 troops were massing near the border, preparing for the Kharkiv push. They could have hit ammo stores, barracks full of troops. Just a few big hits would have thrown the whole thing into disarray, cus ruZZia would have no idea if they'd been given permission to use everything, or if they were just disobeying instructions, or what.

I was in West Berlin before the wall fell and then saw the Berlin Wall fall - more like torn down and torn apart by hand tools and then someone from the East side brought in a forklift type of vehicle and and chains and began to lift sections of Wall for reunification! My cousins told me about a crazy story about 2 EAST GERMAN FAMILIES made up a homemade hot air balloon to fly over the Wall into the West and they all made it! The crazy questions that my cousins asked were mostly propaganda and I remember that my East Germany family was given about like $400.00 to only EAST GERMANS so they THEY COULD EXPERIENCE WHAT THE REST OF THE WORLD! FIRST PLACE WE TOOK OUR FAMILY WAS STRAIGHT TO MCDONALD'S AND THEN TO GET CLOTHES ESPECIALLY LEVI JEANS FOR BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN & then I remember a rock concert done by MTV with David Hasselhoff and then there was concerts with some guy on a string instrument and then a heavy metal band SCORPION that gave the East Berlin a chilling rendition of WINDS OF CHANGE IN RUSSIAN I thought that they were American rock band and some kid from the UK section told that they were actually a UK band and that was the day I learned about rock band's that were on American radio but were in fact most UK or European countries playing in America! They need a firm statement for Putin to realize that he doesn't call the shots. We had enough of his S..t. We set the red line.
Civilians are getting killed, molested, and abused because we are too scared to put an end to Putin's invasion.

Also here in Sweden we have has train ”accidents” which could actually be sabotage.
The iron ore train from Kiruna to Narvik derailed during the past winter.
This resulted in a stop in the transports during several weeks.
Repairs were difficult due to remote location and bad snowstorms.
As there was nowhere to store the ore, production stopped.
A short while after transports resumed, the train derailed again.
That time repairs did not take as long.
Just imagine the costs this caused.
    It was billions.
So far there is no confirmation if these were accidents or sabotage.

Artur - note from CZECH (to Tymothy Snider’s and Yours observation)
Yet first let me greet You and thank You 😊!. I love to watch your YTubes (and of course we stand together on the side of Ukraine)
as You had quite eyes opening note from Estonian perspective - I love the fact that Estonia is free and in EU and I didn’t realize the Estonian reality in case we resisted the German anschluss back then
-> Yet one similar small note from CZECH PERSPECTIVE
People describing 1938 don’t remember all (important) parts.
    1) We actually DECIDED TO RESIST
    2) Czechoslovakian men mobilized (incredibly fast and moved fast enough mass) and about million men positioned themselves on the border
    3) It was shared sentiment of population and leadership that we would fight
    4) Even so French (and British) support was absolutely important (more so than ours to Ukraine)
    5) German/Austrian population to Czechoslovakian populations ratio was roughly 10:1 (!!!!)
(We had great industry and great financial standing - yet country was simply smaller too much)
    6) IMPORTANTLY main reason our leadership call out resistance WASN’T direct fear to fight.
MMAIN REASON FOR STOPPING OUR DEFENSE WAS BLAME-SHIFTING from our allies 🤦‍♂️
France and UK claimed - IF WE RESISTED TO “compromise” they decided - WE WOULD BE CONSIDERED GUILTY PARTY causing the war.
In essence - our president E Benes had to make difficult decision and called our troops from border - fully knowing that Germany would not be satisfied with the “compromise”, Germany would take not only the Sudetenland, Beneš was sure Germany would roll to the rest of country after that (And Hitler did few months later).
Yet he assumed that IT IS unfortunately THE ONLY way for our ALLIES TO SEE what Hitler is and bigger Conflict would follow, where we would have chance again to have allies.

@@alexandermonro6768 Sect. of Defense Austin was deliberately vague when he said "...the Ukrainians will do what they have to do with the weapons we have provided...." There are public statements and then there are private consultations so we can only watch what they do.

When Blinken visited Kyiv recently he said that how Ukraine use US weapons is their decision - which seems like a quiet way to say they no longer object to attacks on Russian territory.

That doesn’t negate the US law that prohibits doing that, unless directly overridden by Congress.

@@schoolingdiana9086 Ah, OK - I didn't know there was a law against it.
The reporting I've seen suggests it's a policy decision, and a congressional committee is pressing the Pentagon to relax it by defining strikes on systems supporting offensive ground operations in Russia to be 'defensive' strikes rather than 'offensive' strikes (the weapons were supplied for defensive purposes).

I am all for bringing back border controls. Schengen doesn't work when you have some members who just let in Ruzzians willy nilly. Germany has millions, Portugal was selling golden visas to Ruzzians, Hungary and Greece are allied with Ruzzia, Slovakia and Poland were caught in visa schemes. The Czech Republic caught a lot of criticism for ending visas and travel to CR for Ruzzians at the start of the war, and now look at what's happening...
Wow, blaming Czechoslovakia for WW2. What a POS Synder is. CR had a small army and was sold out by Chamberlain. Prague wouldn't look like it does now- almost untouched by WW2, if they had tried to fight Germany.

I agree with you a lot but one thing stands out "Prague wouldn't look like it does today if they fought Germany". This may very well be true, but I see this being said the other way about Ukraine "Eastern Ukraine/Bucha/Irpin/that hospital/ that apartment wouldn't have to look this way if Ukraine only didn't fight ruzzia!"
I think I understand what you mean. But I also don't think Timothy Snyder's ___ event would have completely prevented the war rhetoric is helpful or even correct, because nobody could know and history already happened.

@@ZhovtoBlakytniy It really isn't my place to tell Ukraine how they should fight, or if they should fight. It's up to the people and government they voted for, just as an American like Snyder has no place in saying what they think Czechoslovakia should have done in 1939, especially given what America was or wasn't doing at the time. It's easy to sacrifice the people and infrastructure of others from a comfy location.

It's quite simple Artur. They do it because of politics, because of relations. They want to find ways to shield Russia from the world, this includes getting relations to a point with certain nations if possible. He's death is a oppertunity to gain a foothold in regard of relations with Tehran, and as such in the future be able to pressure them to stop helping Russia, Leaving Russia in huge issues.
Atleast i for one think it makes sense from an strategic point of view. When looking at ways to significant weaken the Russian side.
