I was in Playa Blanca for 11 days then was meant to be on a Jet2 flight back to Leeds on Monday morning that was delayed due to the calima. Our plane was diverted to Fuerteventura and then got sand in the engine, then the crew was grounded due to reaching their max flying hours. We spent 12 hours in Lanzarote airport. Got home yesterday at 4:30am having set off from our villa at 8:30am on Monday. Bloody camels! 😂
We had some of that weather last October Dave 35 to 38 degrees ,was so warm but beautiful heat ,drank lots of water as the throat was dry and obviously adult beverages 😂😂 cheers for news updates as always

Folks up in Guime have just finished cleaning their home..🫣 Calimas like this sends sand into every corner inside their house. Hopefully Lanzo doesn’t get another first week of sept, as I’m heading over to see the folks and do some training..
Calima a regular hot occurrence through every year and you will know this well since you live on the island. The worry for me is the potential for damage of sand sucked into jet engines. Happy days 😃
Happened to us in 22’ diverted to Fuerteventura had to wait 90 minutes before the weather improved although it was low clouds not calima! Bus and ferry is ok if you’re staying in Playa Blanca but if you were staying in Arrecifé not so much ✈️
hi mr travel on shame about the calima but it will pass shame about some flights being diverted but very warm on the island great viewing as normal keep it up raining here in scotland billy ayrshire scotland
I showed Cheryl 30 seconds of this and she went mental saying are you trying to wind me up because she would love to be there in that heat even with the uncomfortable feeling of sand in the air instead of here in this shit weather😂great update dave👍

We were on one of the seven planes diverted to Fuerteventura. The runway was closed at Arrecife. Thankfully we were only two hours late arriving.

Well it wasn't closed just diverting flights most were sorted within 2 hrs
