Once thing I do often is use a Topographical map from online sources and then create a contour based map of your chosen area and then overlay some of this data as well for a real 3d experience. @@robertusm On the same layer you cut the water and engrave the roads. That means on that one file you need to make sure the bridges are there and connected. Ie the water cut out is separated by the bridges. It's one file, one layer for both cutting out water and engraving roads.

      @@CasualDIY I see the roads crossing the water on your video, but when I bring the water map into inkscape, the water isn't broken by bridges. When I combine the water and roads layers in Lightburn, it still wants to cut the water first, without bridges and then engraved the roads. What step am I missing?

    Great project, good instructions to follow. Are there any steps skipped? Such as when the text from the bottom is removed and is the water edited? When I create the water vector as instructed, then load it into Lasergrbl it has a square boarder and is not self contained like on yours. Also it is not a PNG file. Any advice? Thanks.

    • @CasualDIY
      @CasualDIY  Před rokem +1

      No stepps missed. Just amending the graphic to what I want exactly. One thing you need to be aware of when doing the water cut out is that the water lines need to be closed off to be cut out. Are you using correct settings in lasergrbl? You can adjust few things there that would give something you are saying.

      These are amazing tools and what they can do and how you can utilise them opens a lot of new doors for project opportunities. I could use a CNC to be fair, that paired with my 3D printers and laser engravers would future proof my workshop for a while. Great tools to stream line work and speed things up.
