Wow, I've never seen a lemon pie done like this before. I like that you've shown all the steps on how you've made your version, even if it was inspired by someone else. It looks like a very complicated process, but at least you get to know how it tastes like in the end! If I ever got to try your version, or AG's version, I would probably go up to heaven.

Sometimes I watch baking videos and I think “that’s so much easier than I imagined it would be!” This is the opposite. In fact, it looks somewhat more complicated than I expected. I don’t anticipate I will have the energy, patience, or indeed the equipment necessary to make this. If I really really wanted to, I could manage it, but, I’m not sure it would be worth it. Maybe someday I’ll find a fancy shop that sells something like this, but until then, it shall remain in dreams I have of being royalty or in a fairy tale. Good luck to anyone with the ambition to attempt it!

I feel the same way…and a little envious of those talented people who have the patience to make creations like this. However, I kept thinking that it would taste so good, and maybe I could tackle an easier variation of the recipe, perhaps making it in a ramekin or a parfait glass, or something less fussy than the (beautiful!) way presented here.

I've seen you make candied lemon slices in a few lemon pastry videos. What do you do with all of the boiled lemon water? Does it taste of lemon in a good way? If so, chill it and use in lemonade or lemon water? Use for a lemon simple syrup? Give to plants? Discard down the drain?

The boiling of the lemon peels is used to eliminate the bitter taste and to make them softer. The waste water from this process (the albedo is maintained) has a bitter scent therefore it is not excellent for making other preparations, at this point it is better to use it to water the plants if you want to avoid wasting water 😊

@@denisecastagno спасибо большое за интересный рецепт. Я Сливочную экзотику упростила- приготовила на основе йогурта манго-маракуйя с добавлением желатина. А вместо лимона использовала апельсин, и корки сразу нарезала кубиками. Нам понравилось))
