I was so confused what this “versus” thing you were talking about was. I then realized I’m an idiot.
You might not notice it at first but if you check again the boss actually drains Eleanor's powers and life force. After the skull blast animation you can see a bit of Eleanor's Sprite in the boss. And your own character becomes lethargic, more "ghost" like and even disappears at the end of the fight after Luminaire defeats the Je-ne-viv(boss's name told by the achievement popup). So yeah Eleanor kinda kicks the bucket here story wise.
Yeah, she get her comeupance for being cocky ass, i guess
Im pretty sure that story wise, the archer, sword man and Eleanor all die. You can find their academy badges on the maps after you complete their objective

Fighting a secret DLC boss is such a vibe
Duration on the sword affects how far the clones can run, but they still have a pierce limit so that isn't the biggest effect. The biggest effect is the slashes' hitbox linger for longer - this means with enough Duration enemies that walk into your sword swings will take several stacked swings from damage at once.
I find the Genevieve character to be really interesting. Slight spoilers by the way.
One of the characters in the game is effectively the boss Tyler just beat. It’s name is Je-Ne-Viv (likely pronounced Genevieve) and has the same starting weapon as Genevieve. Genevieve’s passive abilities are that they suck in all gems on level up and that the “World Eater” ability activates on taking fatal damage. Je-Ne-Viv is unable to die and its character description says that “it will literally eat the world” and the bestiary entry says that it has eaten everything in creation. Genevieve wears a purple dress and the same dress can be seen in the bottom of Je-Ne-Viv’s sprite.
It is clear that Genevieve’s ability to absorb all of the gems changed and became able to absorb “living” things as well. That change caused her to mutate horribly as she continued to devour everything around her. Her hunger growing insatiable as her body continued to mutate into the grotesque abomination known as Je-Ne-Viv. In the process she likely retained a small part of her previous self and can barely speak, which is why her name is Je-Ne-Viv. She is unable to convey her name better than that.
It’s fascinating to me how much can be said in such minimal detail! Luca Galante and James Stephanie Sterling are such incredible writers!
Also it seem that je ne viv absorb eleanor. That's why you need to use her to unlock the boss fight, and how she become paler and dissapear at the end of the fight. Plus you can see a part of eleanor in jeneviv's model
Also likely that luminaire was the one to banish Je-Ne-Viv and the abyss foscari which is why she helps you win the fight, they also look like sisters

@@dieptrieu6564 je ne viv also gets eleanors perk and weapons when you play as them... and even more wtf she slowly destroys the map your in, removing walls, erasing floor tiles, even sequence breaking entire chunks of the map away

The pausing mechanic on this map is actually kind of genius. It allows him to swarm the area earlier without it being too overwhelming

What I've found to be the most fun run for Maruto is a 3 weapon run. His sword + Victory Sword + Night Sword (obviously evolutions are included too)
Then combine them with Divine Bloodline (IX) increasing max HP off retaliatory kills and Slash (XVI) for big crits.
Most notably, the Legionnaire ghostly projectiles do retaliatory damage so they're actually huge for Divine Bloodline.
last time i tried that i got so much max HP that i couldn’t out-heal the evolved night sword’s self damage and died a very anti climatic death

I often don't evolve Night Sword though.
The hp drain does proc based on cool down so maybe not decreasing cool down + focusing Luck and Area to get more hearts and using Sarabande of Healing as the third arcana could out heal it to.
The slam also does retaliatory damage. Do you don't even need evolution to start stacking
this also works on like most other characters. same arcana, and the three swords. just infinite hp and damage scaling
@@rythmiccoma2809 you don't need a weapon to start stacking to begin with. Pick armor and you'll auto retaliate everything. Usually can get to about 700 max hp in like 3-4 minutes of running into things
You should definitely try out the Divine Bloodline Arcana with Maruto.
Divine Maruto is insane. Divine Bloodline on any character once you pick up Eskizzibur is insane.
Divine bloodline is just beyond broken. Its got so much support, too. Muramasa, Victory Sword, Eskizzibur, it just keeps coming. The other day I sat at 20k hp and enough might for Sole Solution to tick into the thousands...
This boss fight was my absolute favourite moment of the game from my personal playthrough, having managed to stay completely spoiler free for the entire dlc
What’s under the surface of VS is so much deeper than it looks, I started playing the mobile version and I was pleasantly surprised with it, it was a free game not including the new dlc’s(4$) and it’s the full version I expected a watered down game, it definitely hit the mark, it’s very hard to put down, and starting over was kind of refreshing, you might do a spotlight on the mobile version in a vid at some point it could be decent content, love the work bro, you and your channel have helped me so much with VS

Quick tip, there are secret areas in walls in this dlc, won't spoil tho
I've not played this at all myself but enjoy watching you unlock new things.
You should do a run of the previous map with the crystals, where you aim to get as many different weapons as possible on each successive map before picking up the weapons you dropped, so you get the most powerful possible build!
Really hard to do with the time limit and movement speed that isn’t sonic fast right out the gate.

As an fyi, if you don't like the movement patterns in this level there is a button you can stand on just north of Spawn that will switch it to normal movement.

This game is sooooo much bigger than it seems
Since you might not realise Legionnaire does retaliation damage without you needing to get hurt ALL its damage is retaliation damage.
This game is so cool. There is so much in this game and it all works so well.

Even if you're going for Limit Break, Silver Ring and Metaglio Left still seem worthwhile. Sure, it's XP that isn't going towards Limit Breaks, but Silver Ring's levels each give +5 Area and Duration, which is better than a single Limit Break upgrade for any weapon that cares about Area (making melee sword slashes hit a wider arc is very nice with Eskizzibur). Also, unless you're extremely confident in your ability to not die, Metaglio Left's upgrades seem worthwhile; it's like an extra half Pummarola half Hollow Heart together.
each of them is 75% the power of their respective individual upgrades, but that makes them 50% better in the long run.

Taking Wings on most characters will let you go fast enough to go through walls btw, though it does kinda mess with your sense of direction even in bounds (esp if you take mad groove)

I like to compare the movement of the enemies to crypt of the necrodancer, a game I’ve seen a Zelda version of, rhythm game, where you are FORCED to move with the beat, I’m bad at the demo

Divine Bloodline is insanely good with Exkizzibur: I believe when you pick it it says 'deals retaliatory damage', which means that, basically WHENEVER you kill something, you get more health.
exkizzibur does what no future used to, giving infinite hp and might as you kill... its PROBABLY going to get patched like no future did but we can enjoy it for now...
(it adds half an hp per kill via retalliation, which is done via armor after getting bloodline, the crimson shroud, no future when you get hurt [used to be any time no future blew up] and all of exkizzy's shockwave slams and legionnaires.... it also gives 1% might per missing 1 hp)
quite the arc of the first dlc video "yeah this dlc seems kinda small" to this hehe

maruto is SO stupidly strong with Divine Bloodline, I think he might be my permanent main
I'm not sure how you feel about spoilers for a secret on this map, so I'll put a few lines in as a spoiler warning.
On the far left side near the empty tome, there's a secret passage that lets you get that item. If you go down in that area to Torrona's Box, that room constantly spawns mini versions of the relic guardians. Despite being smaller and seemingly easier to beat they still drop golden eggs. I found it with a couple of minutes left on the clock and finished the level with over 130 golden eggs. How rapidly they spawn seems kind of random though. The next time I tried it I got there about a minute earlier and only finished with around 90.
Regarding that spoiler.
The spawn rate of them is dependent on the number of available spawns and the available spawning area that intersects with their spawn override box. To put that into different words: You have a limit on how many mobs can be spawned at any given time, you hit this limit and nothing new will spawn. The available spawning area is the area just outside of your screen boundries, mobs spawn there in semi-random places and then attempt to move inwards. Some maps will have override boxes where instead of the normal mobs for that wave, it spawns a specific type of mob. Like the kappa by the waterfront/lake in the previous DLC.
Put all that together and what should you do? Stand so that the area where the mini-Atlanteans spawns takes up as much of the border of your screen as possible.
The swords have sick beats tho

If you want big might numbers with ezkizzibur, you should take the Divine Bloodline arcana.
vampire survivors has such a deep rabbit hole, at this rate its hitting rabbit holes almost as deep as my bus- i mean some other lore-heavy games.
My chest I got during the boss fight gave me evolved clock lancet, I did get another for the prismatic missile tho.😅

I still think you should go back to the first DLC and unlock the third character. They have a really interesting mechanic. Also, slight spoiler for Torrona's Box on the Abyss map:
You do need to pass through a secret wall to get to the box. It's easier to find if the Empty Tome is still on the map and you can also tell you're in the right area because there will be a section of darkness that your attacks go under. Also, there's another secret in the area and I'd be careful what character you bring.

I hope VS has or adds more enemies or even just minutes with area denial, keep you on your toes even with broken builds, but I've enjoyed it so far from what I've played

Actually had to go back and watch the last two before this as I skipped them while I played through myself.
Yeah, fun game, lots of time spent on it already:D I personally REALLY like the Whip union. Pretty major damage + healing especially when combined with the slash arcana for huge crit damage. Early game, the Divine Bloodline arcana makes a couple weapons including the white whip and garlic NUTS, with 25-40 damage a shot instead of the 0-10 those two usually get, and you end up with a LOT of health thanks to the retaliatory damage kill's max health buff.
Also, did you just skip the original boss, or did you just decide it was not worth making a video on?
If you're asking about the Ender, Tyler has fought him already. There's a video up of that called something like "I faced the Rainbow Reaper".
If you're asking about the Directer, Tyler is doing the DLC first and hasn't fought him yet.
I'm not giving more details than names because I don't want to give spoilers to people that are going in blind.

I've been watching these Vampire Survivors videos for months and it's only just occurred to me that (a) there are no vampires in the game and (b) nobody in the game survives
