It's Hermans (Fed Gwynne) birthday, and Lily (Yvonne De Carlo) has surprised him with a new car.
A family of friendly monsters having misadventures and never quite understanding why people react to them so strangely.
#TheMunsters #Comedy #Classictv - Zábava
Munsters had the most badass cars of any TV show ever
These old flicks take me back to days when life was easy and we had no worries. It's comforting to watch. Thanks for posting!
No worries!..how about the Russians nuclear-powered misses pointed at us!!
@@mrabrasive51 Or Vietnam ! !

Fred Gwynne was a very talented and amazing person.
Hear, hear!
He was funny also in . my cousin Vinny movie as a matter fact I think he passed away shortly after making that movie

Fred Gwynn was excellent in the original Pet Cemetary.
Hermann and Grandpa worked together earlier than this show in Car 54 Where Are You?
The Munsters and the Addams family were two of my favourites in the 60's.
Both were only on the air for two years.
Same here!
the Munster and Adam family.

@@robertvalentin5846 I too miss all those shows, simple fun and good humour.
@@Marsbonfire007 And then reruns for another 50... lol but I think the Addams won out in the end over all. Something like 4 or 5 movies, even if only two of them were any good. A cartoon series, the original comic strips etc. Addams family really lasted longer.
I think the Munsters was a better show over all but the Addams were more interesting in the movie at least. Opposite sides of the same coin really. One was a "normal family" that every one reacted to how weird they looked. The other was a weird family that didn't care what any one else thought.
We were so lucky to have the Munsters. Hilarious
Indeed!!!
And the addems family
Lily buying him the hotrod is the coolest thing around stuff like this makes me smile lol
Drag u la. Coooler
Of all the Hollywood hot rods built by George Barris, the Munster Koach is the one I would want to own. That one is my most favourite of all his custom cars, even more than the Batmobile.
I didn't know who was behind building all of those amazing hot rods. Great to know! The rumble of a real hot rod is something to behold. Can you imagine driving this car through the streets? If it really sounds that tough, and I don't doubt that it does. I wish they still made glass paks.

Pretty good Guy, the Beatnik Bandit was a bubbletop car by Ed “Big Daddy” Roth. There were model kits for it but it is perhaps most famous for the Hot Wheels version.
I grew up watching the Munsters, even bought the entire series on dvd. Yvonne Decarlo (Lilly) was one fine looking woman in her younger years.
Yes Yvonne was beautiful, i have a beautiful book about The Munsters that Yvonne and Butch Patrick did.
Absolutely gorgeous woman...
I saw an episode of Bonanza with her.
She made her movie debut in 1942 in This Gun for Hire with Alan Ladd and Veronica Lake.
😘H YEAH, LILLY WAS A DOLL ORITE 😍. I'D ROB A BANK FOR HER JUST FOR A KISS ON THE CHEEK 💰.
I like how in this episode, the kid Elmer, did not judge the Musters for being different, and actually appreciated them at the end of this episode. Where as in most other episodes they are judged rather harshly for their differences.
There's another episode where another kid, named Galen, meets Herman and eventually the rest of the family and doesn't t judge them. Galen tells his parents about the Munsters and they don't believe him. So they have a doctor, the great Harvey Korman, talk to Galen. Then he and Galen visit the Munsters and that's when it gets hilarious.
One of the BEST shows ever, always entertaining.
Yes The Munsters is the BEST show ever 👍👍🇱🇷🇱🇷 i have the Munsters on DVD and a beautiful Model of the Munsters Koach. and a book about The Munsters that Yvonne and Butch Patrick did
Butch Patrick whilst a guest on Solid Gold back in the 80s related a story how Fred Gwynne drove the Munster Koach with everyone in costume off the set at Universal Studios, and onto the the busy street outside......

Listen to this podcast with Butch
@@LowKeyLifeHKD Butch Patrick had a blast on set meeting other actors and playing on the sets. I talked to him once. It was Butch Patrick who explained to me his theory that Lilys family also has Werewolf genes and that Uncle is a werewolf and grandma was part Werewolf too that’s how Eddie was both werewolf and vampire. The family also have Creature from the Black Lagoon relatives. And Butch said something abt Marilyn is Lily’s sisters child and her sister was Vampire too but married an eccentric human and Marilyn took after her father so she appears human. But accepts that she didn’t get the “ good” genes.

It's so comforting to watch these old shows...
Same creators this and LEAVE IT TO. BEAVER
Fun fact...Fred Gwynne couldn't drive a stick...he learned on the Munster Koach
Funny how you knew exactly what he was talking about.
So.. Looks like you're both correct.
@Maxwell Smart You would to if had to wear the shoes he had to.

I am sorry that the actor Fred Gwynne died.
One of the coolest cars around
@Jim Watson They actually had the Munster coach up for sale a couple yrs ago after George died. Price was almost 1 million if i remember right
One of George Barris’s creations
Yes it is, i have a beautiful Metal O Scale. model of the Munsters Koach
I prefer the T-bucket that they supposedly started with to make this car... Of course with as many cast members as they had in the show, a 2-seat T-bucket would not work for the show... I guess we could call this the "Munster SUV"... :)
This absolutely priceless.. and I don't regret for one second, being young then, to appreciate it more now.
The magic factors in this show were timeless.
I just can't stop laughing at these episodes. So creative and well-written scripts!
Always loved this car, one of my favorite movie cars of all time
As a dressmaker I have to comment on how amazing Marilyn's dress looks. It's not easy to match plaids and this looks freaking awesome
BTW. there two Marilyn's
I wish they could still make good clean shows like that at least we can watch the old reruns.
Hands down, without a doubt the BEST Television/movie car ever!! Bravo Mr. Barris!!!
Yes I have a beautiful Metal O Scale model of the Munsters Koach
And Mr, Barris would rise from his grave to thank you!
I miss these old shows. Yes, they're a little campy, but you always had a smile and light heart afterwards.
What an awesome gift. That whole part with the frankenstein toy was a hoot.
🤣he thought the toy was his son lmao
Well it looks more like him than Eddie does
That scene was hilarious with great acting as usual. Classic!
The funny part to me is how Grandpa was totally fooled himself you would have thought at least HE would have known it was a kids toy , then Grandpa kisses the toy on the head, hilarious!
"It's my boy!" 🤣😂
I laughed so hard, a way I really needed.
todays tv stations need to carry the 50 60's series
We have one on the Chicagoland area called MeTV. It's great.

Eddie Munster brings his cars to our shows in Florida. I think it is REALLY cool that he purchased and restored them!
Really??? Had no idea he owned this and Dragula.
Do you know if he still has his Stingray bike constructed from chain that the Barris shop built?
I remember an old issue of Hot Rod magazine. The Dragula was powered by a supercharged Ford 360 and did the quarter mile in mid 9's

It makes sense that the Muster Koach is constructed from the parts of multiple other cars....
Oh wow, that’s true!
Sam Barris, The King of Kustoms......I miss these style shows and the cars that went with them👍
Always thought The Munsters was a funnier show than The Addams Family when watching it back in the mid '60s.
I agree with you when you watch the Munsters watch the closing credits , the Munsters got 3 awards, the Addams Family only got one
For sure ! People getting the first look at Herman, glasses cracking, hair standing up, people running for their lives out the door and jumping the fence. Didnt one guy tunnel under the grass in fast motion ?
That kind of stuff made Munsters superior
No question. The gold standard of horror comedy TV. hilarious, this one.
Absolutely hilarious when Herman sees the Frankenstein toy. No spoiler. Watch it

The old shows make me laugh and forget about what's going on in this messed up world. The shows on TV now just make me angry. Dont know what's worse, the stupid shows or the people that watch them.
Nailed it 👌🏻
Especially shows like "modern family" and cheap knockoff rick and mortys.
That lil Herman gig was too funny. Getting home from school and watching this stuff while I ate a huge bowl of cereal was the best.
I saw the Munsters coach at the Cars the Stars museum in Keswick, England. It was full of auto film stars. Sadly the museum is no longer there. The coach I believe is back in the USA
Currently at the Miami Auto Museum
Love this show, I haven't seen it on TV in a long time..that car is awesome!!
George Barris made it using multiple Model T bodies.

I was about 5 years old when this first aired, I loved this show, Herman's the best, beast with a heart of gold.
Brings back pleasant memories. But you gotta wonder where they got all that money for her to customize two cars into one like that. That coach is still one of the best around.
The coolest car on the show as well as Grandpas Dragula I have a picture of grandpa’s car when it was on display at a car museum that went out of business back in the mid eighties
I forgot about that one! Gonna google it right now!
I saw Drag-U-La at the Volo museum. Not sure if it was the original or a copy, but they had the original car from Corvette Summer and one of the Herbie Fully Loaded stunt cars.
@@AcmeRacing Its a copy. Butch Patrick said the original one was destroyed by not being taken care of after the show and was basically not restorable so it was scrapped.
That car is Badass
I've always thought that it would be boss to show up at a big Halloween bash in The Munster Koach. Thanks, George Barris (and The Munsters).

Lol , still funny. This was a great episode.
Eddie says “Neato!” 😆 And Marilyn’s hairdo…😀
It's the only time Hermon wasn't driving. They had to remove the driver's seat in order for Fred to fit in it. It was even harder with his heavy and bulky outfit. He was so miserable for the two seasons, he NEVER wanted to talk about the show AT ALL!
Absolutely fantastic.

Kudos to the car dealership for accommodating Lily on building that car, i wish i could find someone to do that so easily
It's funny there was no vehicle safety restrictions during those times where I hear stories that people act like crazy ambulance drivers but instead took it easy and only care about going to the store without worrying about carrying everything back by foot.

This isn't the Dragula. This is the Munster Koach. Dragula came later.
Ive read though that it really didnt run very good and that the few times it appeared were the few times they could get it to run
@@richardbutton1179 Just out of curiosity, where did you read that? Because I always heard it ran pretty well. Of course, those pipes and all were fake. In fact, one day during filming Fred Gwynne drove right off the Universal lot onto the streets with the whole cast in full makeup much to the delight of people on the street. It had a Ford 289 V8 which was actually designed for the Mustang. The car still exists in George Barris' museum in Hollywood and I believe, still runs.
