I have to disagree with you here man. Going monk mode may be what's required for some. Sometimes you need to get rid of the distractions in order to tap into that innate discipline. Sometimes creativity comes from a deeper self, the one that exists in solitude. The one that doesn't need any external support. Einstein was known to essentially work in monk mode and would describe receiving profound ideas in solitude. I've practiced monk mode for a few weeks and experienced crazy progress financially and in increasing my self discipline.

@@halisternator right That’s why a “monk mode” as some ppl like to call it, is for when individuals have found themselves wayy too over stimulated by things in their life. Which nowadays it’s rlly not that hard to fall into with how busy we are and how obsessed we tend to get with hustle culture
I went into Monk Mode and didn't even know it. I changed my life for the best. I over indulged in life prior. This centered me and assisted in self reflection and discipline. One size does not fit all. Experiment. See what works. Results may vary. Be well and good luck, friends.
Great to hear my friend, don’t be decieved by messages like in this video. Galatians 6:7 ”Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”
Monk mode is not about dont talk your friends and family and lock yourself in room until you achieve your dreams. Instead its really about to destroy your bad habits like reducing screen time , analysis who u are by mediation and also make you more focused. Here in our society due to our social media we lose a lot energy and time, monk mode literally makes us to avoid these. Remember if we dont have access to social media through monk mode , then it makes bored and try and try you starts to think about yourself and yours passion and goal because you dont have social media anymore to lose your time and distraction anyway. Hence it is really helpful
Going monk mode is probably one of the best and worst things I did for myself. Best because I learned a lot of who i am and I needed a break from all the toxicity in my life. Being one with yourself and being happy with that is a truly special experience that really only comes from removing yourself from distractions. Worst though because I isolated myself away from people entirely and I very easily fell into a superiority complex because I finally saw my flaws, accepted them and improved them to make myself better. By lacking social interaction I lost some form of humility and held myself above others for “figuring it out” where it was obvious so many others hadn’t. Part of me wanted to help but I could help myself from looking down on them. It took a good year of just sitting back and watching ppl socialize in person instead of on social media to break the antisocial behaviour I had picked up. I came out of it with better clarity, more confidence and a genuine sense of self-love. But it came at a cost, as does everything in this world; I highly recommend doing it for the sake of tackling your inner demons and conquering them, then return to normal life - don’t keep yourself in it for too long or it’ll take longer for you to reintegrate, if at all (which is another discussion for those who achieve so much clarity that they can see very aura of our society and not want anything to do with it).
Nothing wrong with being alone with your thoughts. It lets rethink your own opinions on a lot of things and it makes the nonsense in your life easy to throw away
Yea totally agree with that point... I got into monk mode in quarantine and just like that I lost my friends and developed social anxiety and awkwardness Even now I can't confidently say I am as social as before I'm working on it tho I was a guy who never had any issues with making friends It was spontaneously But now it's more like a skill
It depends ! Some people are wired to do things better in the monk mode. Loneliness can be boring sometimes and studies showed boredom actually works very well for creativity. If we speak about artists at least. And the analytical minf is there with oe without friends :) people just need to develop ! You need peace to analyze a thing. You can t analyze in so much noise.
Monkmode is for pragmatic purposes. Gym, yoga, reading, writing, meditation, career. IT IS NOT FOR CREATIVE PURPOSES. It's basically a turbo boost for the aforementioned things.
You're exactly right. We need to enrich our lives. Of course there's always a time and place for working, but without taking time for other things we enjoy, there's not going to be anything substantial on the other side. It's like working endlessly with no breaks. How do you expect to have any quality work by the end of it when you're feeling worn down and tired?
This is actually good advice. He doesn't just say don't do something, he has reasons for what he says. He puts some thought in his words and that's valuable.
For me, it's the first and only thing that really helped me. I have been pretty much going through life all alone for the past 16 months. I still go to work everyday, go to school twice a week to build a new career, do a shit ton of rock climbing, always make sure my flat is clean and i'm finally healing from a life of trauma where i don't have to be good enough for anyone anymore but myself. I'm feeling better everyday. For me it was (and for now still is) the only way.

@@vishalmakhijani2198 wow, so if it doesnt work it means the person is the one in the wrong? Monk mode is a all size fits all to you? News flash, it's not. It doesn't work for some and it always ends really bad for the people it doesn't work for. I'm another example, I came out of it with depression and anxiety. My life was fine without "monk mode". I was already matured for my age, decent relationship with a healthy family, good friends and I was in college. Went monk mode and I almost lost everything. Doesn't work for everyone, so please stop blaming everyone over what is essentially self-improvement porn.
Agree to an extent. Monk mode can be helpful if you feel there’s too much noise from the exterior for you to discern what’s already inside your mind and heart. Sometimes, solitude is good to cultivate a quieter mind & heart. However, it’s certainly unhealthy if that’s the only source of creativity. External stimuli is needed. But to everything, there is a balance and a flow/ebb of tide with creativity.
Love it when you reinvent solitude in a totally different context for a totally different purpose. You supposed to stay in solitude so that you get rid of the analytical mind. So you tire it out and then you come back to thinking, in a way you don’t have to think
My definition of monk mode is locking down on what your purpose is, but enjoying life too. And not doing bad habits like eating junk, playing videogames, etc, but spending time with others.
Dawg, if you don’t like the direction of your life and want to change it, temporarily giving up your social life can be a huge benefit. If you always do the same thing, you’ll always get the same results. If you can’t spend time alone, you need to make yourself better company. If you lose friends over it, they were never your friend anyways. All kinds of people experience mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual growth from a monk mode adventure.
Exactly, you need new experiences to develop your creativity, the idea is not to deprive yourself of social interaction, but to explore yourself and get rid of any exterior influences, and that can be painfull but you will be prepared and hopefully a better person
Once you think you have collected enough information or knowledge to achieve a goal, I think we should go into monk mode to put this accumulated knowlege into work. Often without going into monk mode we can get caught up in just accumulating knowledge and not utilizing it. In my opinion we should feed our minds with lots of information and then go monk mode and articulate them and use them to achieve a goal and continue the cycle.
Although the self help gurus are often full of shit, there are many examples of artists going into isolation for a few months to write albums and they end up being masterpieces.
I see some of your point of views. But I have integrated monk training into my daily life routine and especially when I exercise and train. After a workout or when I wake up I start meditating right away for 30 min, with a glass of water next to me in my hous's sunroom. It's reall great to be connected with nature but shut away in a room in solitude from the world at the same time. And I still enjoyed drinking with friends and eating food, gaming, watching movies. I just feel at ease meditating as my stress fades away from my body. But it is true, you shouldn't exclude yourse from experiences in life. You need the bad times and the good times to make you who you are.
As an introvert, I have been anti-social from the very start. I decided to change my life from the start of college. So I displayed my confidence and made friends. I became more confident, happy and had better social skills. But my energy would be completely drained when it wasn't even the end of the day. I had a great social life but I would have 0 energy to invest in any activity which matters. I decided to go into monk mode. Now I am very very shy, anti-social, bad at conversations, always nervous , anxious and insecure but I found my life purpose and finally developed discipline. I made a list of all of the things that I wanna do before I pass away, mostly related to skills that I want to learn. Now I know where I want to be. I know the end goal. Now I work on a skill as soon as I wake up,workout, meditate and visualize in the morning, read a book, then go to college. After college, I again read books and I would learn something new everyday. I exchanged my social life for progress. "Sometimes, the price of progress is loneliness." I will try to get better at conversations as well in summer vacations.
From a creativity standpoint, it makes sense. During the pandemic, I heard Neil Gaiman say that it was difficult to write without being able to get external input.
I spent 2 years in monk mode creating my software consulting company. Was definitely worth it. Around the 1 year mark was when I could slowly transition to a more normal life. Going from making 5k a month from my job to spending 30k a month on payroll is life changing. I have way more free time now to focus on other things like my physique, buying s fancy car, going on more trips. And I get to wake up every day with dozens of employees depending on me to lead this company. Don’t drink the kool aid. Being rich and the life possibilities that it opens up is NOT overrated. Well worth the year or 2 with a sub par social life
The monk mode is for those who are grownup as consumers and can't spend second with themselves. It is important to grow through that stage. It will make one stronger and better. What you are talking about is also important. Creativity, joy, connections. Most important is to thrive to stay in optimal stage of health and clarity. As humans we will find ourselves in different places and stages, but health and clarity will help us to do better things for ourselves and for others.
If you go into monk mode, you will return into society, not only smarter, but you will know how to maneuver throughout the world and protect your energy🙏🏾🌎
I feel like one should go into monk mode mentally, only for a couple of times. Besides that, experiencing life and knowing what your dealing with is way better than just isolating yourself and becoming anomalous (in a bad way)
I think monk mode is for those who has to be outside all time, seeking validation, scared to be alone. For those of us who already stay in the house, we need to get out more! With that said I'm booking a flight to see some family and get out for minute. Great video
Monk mode improves quality of life. I find solitude instead of loneliness, even im alone. Positivity & contentment does improve one's performance on social, career and life.
Yeah I did that for a couple months and almost unalived myself and lost myself completly into fiction. After I realised I had to change something i decided to visit my Grandma every Thursday and Satursay, since i don't have any Friends or a Partner (where everyone is confused on how I don't have any somehow) One of the Best Desicions of my Life
I did monk mode and it allowed me to connect to the deepest part of myself and I found myself and God in deep isolation just working on myself. Monk mode actually took me from from analytical mind to the creative mind. It actually took me into developing both instead of one.

Exactly. ppl online just swerve to extremes (this is good / this is bad / this is the best / this is the worst etc.) ppl r different…that’s such a basic concept
Balance is hard. The average day is not a balanced thing but a chaos. Balance is a privilege you earn over time. It's not something which is in your hands.

Monk Mode does help, even 2pac said it was good for his material to have some time by himself when he was locked up, but don't overdo it. It's good for a sprint, bad for a long run.
Even monks were surrounded by other monks. Isolation from all people is a really bad.
bullshit…
monks sometimes go into an ascetic period where they stay alone in a cabin or cave for weeks, months or even years…
they often only eat the bare minimum just that their bodies survive but mostly they fast
good examples are buddhist and hindu monks
and orthodox christian monks
@@JensVanDeAarde And that's why Monk mode is BS. They do it for YEARS and you guys are here doing it in fkking cycles. It's a disrespect to Monks ngl.
Isolation for extremely long periods of time, and not by choice is bad , but meditation in nature, every once in a while by your self is peaceful and a good thing. Learning to love your own company and be your own friend why not ?
Isolation from ALL people is VERY good lol. They’re kinda crazy and sometimes straight up evil
I went into monk and honestly, it was kinda one of the best times in my life. I was totally focused on the thing I wanted to achieved (although i didn't achieve it but that's how business is).
But I just felt so good about myself, I felt so inlined.
True. Monk mode works when we are certain about our goal and wanna have pin point focus on it. Hanging out and exploring helps in adding creative value only when we are out of ideas. Once we have the idea, it's always monk mode to implement it.
Exactly, these children playing video games in their rooms and eating snacks thinking monk mode is all about staying alone and then agreeing with this guy🤦🏻♂️
Monk Mode is 3 months of silence and relentless discipline and hard work to make a year worth of slow progress. It’s perfect for those situations where your demons get the best of you
Monk mode is great. It helps keep away my anxiety.

I'm 50/50 on this one. I believe buckling down and discipling yourself is important. But you can't deprive yourself from enjoyment in life. Monk mode is supposed to be a temporary thing, like maybe 3 months.

That’s why a “monk mode” as some ppl like to call it, is for when individuals have found themselves wayy too over stimulated by things in their life.

You are right about one thing only... "...Don't listen to the hoopla on social media..."

Ok homeless
Monk mode isn't for creativity. It is for knowing and rewriting yourself.
Been stuck in "monk" mode for 10 years, he's not wrong
Yea totally agree with that point... I got into monk mode in quarantine and just like that I lost my friends and developed social anxiety and awkwardness
Even now
I can't confidently say I am as social as before I'm working on it tho
I was a guy who never had any issues with making friends
It was spontaneously
But now it's more like a skill
That’s not monk mode. That’s just you locking yourself in a room being an idiot 💀
This is what happen when you left the things incomplete!
@@Respectcrazyfunny left what incomplete you don’t even know what your talking about 😂

Good friends you had there lol lost friends because of that if you lost them they were not your friends in the first place
There's different types of monk mode, I've never would go into a monk mode that would isolate me from life.
Personally, when I wanted to achieve my goals in life I got it only by doing it again and again and again and again… no distractions whatsoever

For me, it's the first and only thing that really helped me. I have been pretty much going through life all alone for the past 16 months.
Doesn't like monk mode .... Inaccurately describes monk mode.
Blud probably thought monk mode was all about playing video games in your room and eating snacks💀
🤣
One man’s perspective is his own.
I don't remember a Guru saying, "Go lock yourself up in a room."
Love it when you reinvent solitude in a totally different context for a totally different purpose. You supposed to stay in solitude so that you get rid of the analytical mind. So you tire it out and then you come back to thinking, in a way you don’t have to think
As a writer, he's absolutely right.
I have never heard a monk suggesting what you just said.
Thank you! Someone pointed it out. Since 2021-2023 its been nothing but monk mode.... all the time.
My definition of monk mode is locking down on what your purpose is, but enjoying life too. And not doing bad habits like eating junk, playing videogames, etc, but spending time with others.
Monk mode teaches you discipline.
5 years old kids ,, what is that on your face?"😂
okay if you want to achieve good in life then dont follow monk mode but if you want to achieve the best then monk mode is actually helpful
Bro creative is 5%, incredible focus and hard work is 95%.
Monk mode for a temporary time is extremely powerful.
Monk mode put me into a proper depression
You have learn how to be happy with completely nothing if you want to be happy when you have everything.
"All work and no play made a jack a dull boy"
Monk mode had turned life around for me in the nick of time to establish healthy habits for the rest of my life 🙏🏽
Sitting back and doing absolutely nothing and being bored will inspire you also
As an introvert, I have been anti-social from the very start.
A friend did that monk mode. He is now the Sage of Six Paths
