Bolt is definitely underrated. I love this movie.
+MegaSoulhero Agreed.
Me too :3
+MegaSoulhero The song when they are hitchhiking is so good! :D
agree
+MegaSoulhero Oh great, after the Charlie Brown Christmas especial review, every one is going to use the same joke. "Underrated" :P.
That ending though... I can't be the only one who almost shed a tear when Bolt lays down next to Penny.
It's very bittersweet, bolt loses everything and becomes a normal dog, but he is now forever safe with the love of his life
This is basically the Truman Show but with pets
Fuck I came down here to say that
And with a different plot
Jamazon thus, making it a little more understandable why bolt wouldn't know. But at the same time, wouldn't he know that he's not really doing all those special effects? That's post production editing, it's not like actors actually see themselves fuck up their surroundings because all of that is post produced special effects.
I've heard that before
@@MrGabeanator Science Fiction Jim Carrey movie from the 90s. Brilliant film. One of my all-time favorites. Definitely check it out.
Let's just all agree that Mittens is definitely one of the funniest and most underrated Disney sidekicks.
Bolt makes me cry every time…that scene in the burning building when they get reunited…..so much crying…..
+Trippy Kitty What about when you find out that the cat was declawed and abandoned and she doesn't know why, and that she can't live normally because she had no claws. It makes me sad because it happens all the time. People are horrible :'
Ditto to both of you
This is the film that showed that Disney was starting to put a lot of effort in their films after a lot of disappointments (cof... Home on the Range...cof... Chicken Little...cof)
+Rob Bob hey chicken little was fine
+kinkajuu1 I liked home on the range though
Chicken Little is shit.
You okay? sounded like something was in your throat.
I thought Bolt was better than expected. It's not perfect, but I thought it was cute and kept me entertained.
Such an underrated movie! I love it!
one word i'd use to describe Bolt: Underrated. this is a hidden gem among the 47 other films before it
It's often overlooked as it's a transitional film. It's ether the last film of an era or the first. Since the movie was already far on development when Lasseter took over as head of Disney animation and it was retooled when that happened. Most people count Princess and the frog as the first of the modern era so Bolt is often ignored.
+David Raymond So it's the Oliver and Company of the 2000s? (only not as good). That's actually kind of fitting, since it's another Disney dog movie.
I don't mind about the movie but the videogame
oh the videogame
OH DEAR GOD THE VIDEOGAME
i loved the game, my only issue was the fact it was in the TV show I'd like to see them show the story of bolt and have certain parts of the game set into the show like ideas. (the toy story 3 game is a good example of how to do that.)
i was fucking obsessed with the game...
AndyGP there was a video game?!
same, it was surprisingly good.
"Take over the world..."
*OF COURSE !!*
This film was one of my favorites as a child, and I had forgotten it until now, thank you.
People always say that Princess and the Frog was the start of the Revival era, but really I think it's Bolt because it had that 2D look.
Hamster. A guinea pig in a ball would brake it's spine. They also can't stand on their hind legs.
that shit in the ball is a hamster
+Juanignacio molina sossa Duh...?
+Juanignacio molina sossa ya idk y he cant tell the difference
Yes finally lol someone who noticed not enough people though.
I feel like the Critic thinks every single animated movie has to be a comedy.
+FaceUnreality Right? "Grave of the Fireflies was okay I guess. I mean, it wasn't BAD, but there were barely any laughs..."
***** Yeah he seems fairly close minded when it comes to animation.
ArronZ M.
Yeah I have seen a lot of people say that the Nostalgic Critic doesn't appreciate animation. Trust me I know what an animation hating looks like. This isn't animation hate.
*Rubs hands together* OH BOY
2:07 explains why he wanted more of a comedy in this case. And I think it makes sense!
This was my favorite movie when I was a smol child, I remember going to see it in theaters and I thought it was the best thing since sliced bread. cx
I loved this movie when I was younger. I rewatched it whenever I could.
After all these years I still can't tell what breed Bolt is.
+Johnny Doe Bolt is an Australian Shepard.
I thought he was a bull terrier cross. Because I had a bull terrier and she looked almost identical to bolt
It was officially released by Disney that he's a white American shepherd dog. :)
i still love this film
I remember being freaking obsessed with this movie when I was little.
Regarding voice acting, I feel Miley Cyrus was miscast as Penny. Her voice just doesn't match the character.
Too southern
yep
Sorry to disagree, this is the only role I liked her in.
I agree. Aside from the scene where the studio is burning, I never got the impression that she was really trying. It’s like she just didn’t give a shit.
This came out during Hannah Montana's peak. I thought this was made to be her vehicle. So I avoided it.
That son that Plays while the road-trip-Montage (the german Version - I'm austrian) HAUNTS ME!!!
This is one of those few movies that I saw on Netflix, and enjoyed so much that I had to own an actual copy. Loved it so much!
I loved this movie when I was little. I was one of those creepy wolf loving kids who would watch videos of this made with stuffed animals.
I've heard that the first concept of Bolt was actually set in a zombie apocalypse.
This is one the movie I remember from My childhood
Not sure why but I definitely thought this movie was Dreamworks. Maybe because it gets so much less recognition than other Disney pictures. Which is a shame, of course.
Loved this movie as a kid.
"Very convinced that he's in this fictional world". Given what John Travolta believes, you're god damn right lmao.
Bolt sure is a movie alright.
bolt was my second favorite movie as a kid
bolt was one of my fav movies still and I am a teenager
I LOVE this movie.
I grew up with this movie, used to watch it every single day when I was five and only stopped when I was eight
i completely forgot that i made this comment a year ago and was just about to make the same comment again
i was kinda hoping for some reason he would talk about that fire near death scene which had me in tears as a kid
OH MY GOD this is the most adorable premise. i think i gotta see this
Oh, this movie!! I use to love it when I was little!
This was my favorite movie I LOVE IT.
I'd love to see at least a whole episode of their show, that'd be rad af
I love this movie, it's really cute and I could watch it forever
This movie is my childhood I love this thing
I LOVE this movie!!💕
this movie used to be my favorite. I couldn't sleep unless I had it on loop. I even broke the disk it was played so much XD
this is the first movie i saw in the cinema and i love it
I love this movie
I really liked this movie. The premise is creative and unexpected.
When seeing it I enjoyed it
I loved this movie !
the Guinea Pig is really just perfect XD
This was my favourite film growing up. It was over taken by guardians of the Galaxy after a while, also finally found a film review where you didn't murder with your words.
So on this film he says, "it was decent, not Pixar, but I'd see it a few more times," and on Monsters inc he says, "it was alright but I wouldn't watch it again." The hell?
+HisRoyalCarlness I know right!? It's like he has his own opinion or some bullshit like that!
+Silhouetters this is gold
+DrVagary I don't see why it's confusing. He'd rather rewatch one movie over the other.
+Silhouetters I was pointing out that his opinions conflict. Like, something being "alright I guess" qualifies multiple viewings for non-Pixar. Then with Pixar, which he holds in higher esteem, "alright I guess" only gets one viewing?
+HisRoyalCarlness OMG it's like Pixar can actually fail to impress him and not everything they make is perfect to him.
plus there's some movies that you can only watch once before your like "alright that was good, don't need to see it again."
this movie was fucking great as a kid so was the wii game.
This is probably the only movie I like more in Spanish than in English.
In the argentinian version, the pigeons are voiced by "Les Luthiers" who are the best argentine comedians
After I watched this for the first time when I was 6years old I've wanted a white German shepherd "just like bolt" and I still want one
Bolt and Cars Is My Childhood
underrated movie!
BOLT is awesome
A family picture!
Forgotten underrated Disney movie
I. LOVE this movie!!!
.....Rhino is...Rhino's a hamster. Come on! They said this several times, and JUST LOOK AT HIM. It's when really silly/simple mistakes like these are made in reviews that make me question how carefully the reviewer actually watched the movie. Oh well
What are you talking about? This movie is hilarious and is FILLED with several jokes of differing variety
Wow. I remember watching this movie as a kid, but I do not remember any of this...
Ikr bolt is so cute
I Remember where The Guard was the Voice of Nostalgia Critic
I wouldn't mind this movie so much if Disney channel didn't air this like twice a month from when it came out to like 2014
I'm going to have to see if this is on Netflix, so I can check it out.
The hamster will always be the best part of the movie.
I've only watched this once and found it cute I like dogs
The way I always summerized this movie was: "Dog Toy Story with a dash of Spider-Man 2"
I loved the guinea pig.
Bolt: "While you were still learning on how to SPELL YOUR NAME!, i was being trained, TO BE A DOG!"
I forgot this movie existed LOL, Loved it though
Ya know, given that this was followed by Princess and the Frog, I think we can make the argument that Bolt is the point Disney's animation turned around.
Totally forgot this movie existed.
I agree.
SUPER BARK!
Nobody seems to know this movie - and I didn't even know this was a Disney movie! xD
I watched this when it came out when my dog passed away lmao
That Nemo joke had me dying
I have the video game to this on the Wii. It's pretty cool because the game is actually the TV show in the movie. It's like a video game adaptation on the TV show. Literally all the events in the movie do not take place in the video game, all the events in the video game are made up to create the TV show.
A-Carmine916 I'm talking about the TV show INISDE the movie. You know, the show that Bolt thought he was in
2:08 yeah original
*The Truman Show, Toy Story, and Homeward Bound giving "annoyed stares" in the background*
Forgot this movie existed
As a kid holy crap I could not keep up with the story
Yeah Doug, a faaamily picture.
I'm not the only one who has puppy bolt as my background right...
I’d like to see a sequel where they focus on the difficulties of being a child star
2:10 Toonami has been canceled
Wait, you think that this is "alright". This movie is in my top 5 Disney movies. I watched this movie all the time when I was younger and still , to me , it's a masterpiece. Also make a TV show about the super powerd Bolt in real and put it on Disney XD, that would be epic
"While you were still learning how to SPELL YOUR NAME, I was being trained... to fetch sticks!"
0:43 Doug REALLY hates doing that joke xD
+BBBHuey Of course!
Bolt: "Nostalgia Critic didn't care for our movie" Rhino: "I'll snap his neck."
I love this I think it is very cute, and I become very vonerable when it comes to cute.
The opening where they LITERALLY lampshade the matrix ALONE is worth the price of admission; I mean, seriously, the opening to this movie is BETTER than the two Matrix sequels and make about the same amount of sense in how utterly ridiculous it is :P
I never liked dog movies, always thought they were dumb. But this one was more than fine to me, i watch it every once in a while
Guinea pig? Hes a hamster.
2:10 Wait... Is that Tom 1?! The Intruder is in this movie! Run!
my neighbor's cat is named mittens and looks like mittens in the movie.
I think Bolt was the first non-Pixar Disney movie I saw since Brother Bear... And I saw it under unusual circumstances, too... Even then, though, I thought it was just okay... It felt like Toy Story, but with pets to me.
Rubberman202 Not actually Chicken Little was the first non-pixar movie
one of the few disney films that doesnt have a fucking sequel, holy crap lol
Nor its own show
Bolt and Mittens remind me of Rita and Runt from Animanics.
