The vampire diaries is actually really good. Many look at the title and think it's another twilight; which it isn't and had way better storylines and plots. I recommend 100% watching this series all the way through, it's one hell of a ride, and is very well written. It's actually one of the most popular and well known shows in the whole world and for very good reason. Please, please, please finish this series. The first 5 episodes are a bit slow, but trust me it picks up after a while. -hilarious reaction btw, hope you consider this.

I am also Lexi Stan, but...really, Lexi and Stefan? They developed such a great friendship, while Stefan and Caroline developed a beautiful relationship, Steroline is better...

What I hate about this first and last episode thing when it comes to the vampire diaries is the fact that it makes people believe that Vicky actually had an impact on the show and that she survived through it all when she died in like the 4th episode xD

He's trash of a character. He was the least interesting and was boring on screen. Honestly the show could've killed him and the emotional impact wouldn't have even been that strong. Even Jeremy was more tolerable than him, and he's annoying asf.

Also Caroline and Stefan did get married, Elena had been with Damon for a while. The girl that Stefan hugged when he said “I was feeling epic” was his best friend who Damon killed in the first season.
Stefan married Caroline not Lexi that’s his best friend that helped him... but I can’t tell you why if you want to watch it

For me, personally, after half of season two it's been getting weaker. I don't like most of the ships and I feel like it's the weakest one story wise out of the three (TVD & TO.) Like, this "monster of the week" nonsense and this lack of creativity, and/or lighter tone does get old after sometime. However, I won't say the show is a total bust due to Alaric, Hope, and some of the ensemble cast, but it is still the weakest to me. I must commend them though, on their use of various greek mystical beings and other supernatural creatures which is something TO lacked (TVD delve into it as well with Sirens & Hunters) which isn't necessarily a bad thing because TO story didn't really need other supernatural creatures to be good, but I digress.
So I'm curious on how you feel about the story thus far? Do you think it's a great continuation? Do you like the direction they're headed? What are some things you would change about it?

I think what sets this show apart from twilight is the Lore. The magic system is complex, vampires have a lot of history and individuality.

Elana chose Damon several seasons before the ending. Stefan had just married Caroline the episode before. The blond chick that Stephan met in the after life was his best friend. Caroline was a surrogate for the guy with the plan and ended up becoming a mother to his twins.
The sad thing is that this is a really good show and he's missing everything.

@@yourtruegalpal8559 it’s a funny idea to watch the first (usually pilots aren’t that good) and last (series finales are super tricky) episodes since… well they might not be good episodes at all lol. Also one person elsewhere noted that the second to last episode probably set up the finale. But because it’s a tv show no the entire series basically set up the finale lol. I feel as though it’s a bad way to get a sense of a show, but it is certainly surprising for the viewer to see how much things changed. XD a lot of people are doing this with TVD for some reason. Maybe because it’s so long?

This, The Originals, True Blood are all good shows worth trying to watch all the way through......lol idk why but when I watched them It didnt feel right to watch them past season 5 without it feeling different( im a stelena/steferine fan too lol) I did love the brother Duo tho and so many of things, it's pretty funny too (spoilers lol)

To be honest, I didn't grow to love her until after she became a vampire and some time has passed. I mean there were moments when she was human where I felt bad for her and even liked her but for the most part (not all) I couldn't stand her as a human. So for only having watched the first episode I get it.
That's what makes her such a great character because she has amazing growth after she becomes a vampire.
@@kaylabounds0615 Yeah, I wasn't really serious and I get it 😀 She seemed really annoying at the beginning, I actually started liking her during the first season but after she was turned she quickly became my favourite. She had the best character development in the show so I just found his comment quite funny considering how many characters started to annoy me much more during the later seasons and I would much prefer to have them died 😅

Bonnie went through so much pain, she lost her grandma, her dad, her mom, her boyfriends, her own life (multiple times) to save her friends. she has saved her friends from klaus (the original hybrid) Silas, Cade, sirens, heretics (vampire witches) etc. She is the person who saves everyone. she is self taught in magic, knows every type of magic and is a very powerful witch. she doubted herself because she thought she lost her magic, but she didn’t

Ah, I feel like if you liked this you should DEFINITELY watch the show on your own. It's SOOOO much going on in between first and last episode that you couldn't predict HOW they all managed to "survive" lol
They mad first five episodes a little like Twilight bcoz they wanted to attract the audience of that genre after that it gets really interesting . And also teen wolf came after this. This show paved th way for that show.

I love vampire diary's so much, I've rewatched all seasons 7 total times and I have never gotten bored of it, which is actually the same as glee. I have seen teen wolf only once but I can say that I love this show and teen wolf equally. There both really good in there own ways.

So the love triangle between Elena and the brothers ended in season 4. Her and Damon got together. Stefan and Caroline got together in season 6. They get married. She got widowed the same day she got married. And if you had watched the show, you would love Caroline, she's the best character lmao and Elena sucks.

As much as I see the twilight comparisons, the whole universe is very different. Plus, the vampire diaries books came out before the twilight books. Don’t get me wrong, both are great but the vampire diaries really is way different. Loved your commentary though! 😁
Bonnie was a very powerful witch from the first witches bloodline, the Bennett’s. She died a few times throughout the show, mostly because of Elena. So In season 6 there was a curse put on them. Elena will go into a deep sleep until Bonnie dies. Enzo, Bonnie’s vampire boyfriend, was killed by Stefan when he had his humanity turned off earlier in season 8.

I actually felt bad for Elena and Bonnie. Those two as best friends went through it. And Bonnie sacrificed so much for Elena (even if Elena didn't want her to), so although that season finale had me f'd up in tears, I'm happy Elena sacrificed something for her happiness (the coma).

I wish those "the first and the last episode" reactions would be first and the last episode of every season at least. That would be still funny and interesting to see someones assumptions and it would give a lot more of the story. I'd like it more, especially for series with many seasons. But thats just my opinion.

Stefan and Caroline was the romance we never knew we needed. I will never forget their first kiss, it was too epic and that whole scene was just so beautifully shot. I honestly feel like out of all the relationships on this show, theirs was the most stable and non-toxic. When Stefan told Damon that he thought a relationship with Caroline would be better than what he had before, he had no idea what was in store for him. Seeing their constant love and total support as friends was just amazing to watch and then finally, slowly, seeing it blossom into an epic romance, was so humbling. Him dying wrecked me because they didn't get to have a life together and Stefan truly deserved that.

i seriously wish legacies lived up to the level of satisfaction i had with TVD and TO. the show had GREAT potential, especially as a spinoff to both predecessors, but it's really just a teen drama that seems to mainly be about high school drama and bad relationships. the vampire diaries kinda started out like that but seriously developed into a way better plot. the originals was great in terms of plot although season 1 seriously dragged for me.
You know, in TVD it was explicit said that you have to be adult to become a werewolf, and vampires can not produce kids. In Legacy all the highschool kids were such, it is such a nonsense and kiddy stuff with ridiculous monsters like in Charmed. The only school understandable for me would be for kids coming from witch or werewolf families. Should be enough problematic for them dealing with secret societies, organizations, authorities and vampires, they wouldn't need other monsters. Without that nonsense kiddy stuff it would had been a great opportunity for Alaric and Damon as elderly school directors. But not with all the new rules in Hollywood. It is just so, that you will never be able to produce something like TVD again in US with all that hysterical "political correctness", me too, feminism and LGBTQ going on. Things unpopular anywhere else (you can not sell such lousy shows abroad!). See, US has only one big problem no one address: it is a heartless egoistic anti-social society made only for rich people. That is the bottom of of other problems. That is true "vampirism" feeding on people.
TVD was breaking every society rule possible in the show, that is why it was so much loved. So many society problems hidden symbolically in the stories. And the tragic love story (love triangle, brother's love) is unique. Unrepeatable.

The reason why Caroline was “picked” and not Lexi was simply because she was dead 😭 and Caroline reminded Stefan of Lexi in the way she was always there for him

Believe me I'd totally be abroad this ship if either of them had shown the slightest part of romantic feelings towards each other. In fact, Lexi litterally told Stefan that there may be something else between Caroline and him in s5!! Stefan didn't pick Caroline as a replacement, he fell in love with her gradually (as he says multiple times).

I don't care about the flaws of this show, I still love it a lot, maybe even more than the Originals. Plus, I like the vampire rules in this universe, including having to be invited in. Once Elijah found himself in a house he wasn't invited in and had a hard time. Is it time to rewatch this show? It's so great. It's so touching that Damon's first and last words were 'Hello, brother.'
You were confused about Caroline’s story.. Basically, Alaric can’t keep a s/o. They always die. He was originally married to Elena’s bio-mom (bio-dad was her uncle John you saw walk out of the house at the very end) that Damon turned. He thought she was dead, but never found a body. Came to town as a vampire hunter.. fell in love with Aunt Jenna, and became an uncle type for Elena and Jeremy especially after Jenna was murdered. He found love again, but she was murdered at their wedding by her twin brother (who also killed the rest of their siblings). Jo was pregnant when she died, so her coven placed the babies into the safest place they had... Care Bear’s vampire belly.. to cover the fact the actress was pregnant in real life. She’s raising the twins with Ric, but married Stefan.. in June.. as she said in the pilot. Although, “Steroline” just feels more like a friendship/forced romance if you ask me.
No, Vicki didn’t survive. Damon changed her, too. Stefan staked her when she tried to kill Elena. You were seeing ghosts for half the finale.
Elena has been in a magical coma linked to Bon Bon for the last five years... she’d only wake up when Bonnie dies.. the spell came from Damon and Stefan’s mom who has actually been a vampire for the last 160ish years.. trapped in her own personal hell world for being a ripper with her “witchpire” family. Nina (Elena) had a six year contract, and wanted to go do other things. Magically found a way to wake her without killing off Bonnie (again). They had a daughter named Stefanie (for Stefan). The ending confuses me... they got married and had a little girl.. but did they die young or revert to a version of themselves their family would recognize in the afterlife?

By season two of the vampire diaries, any biased Twilight fan that said any of those movies combined were better than tvd when Katherine showed up, let only Klaus, they were delusional.
This show imo has one of my favorite supernatural lores in terms of balance, abilities, creativity, and such! So good!
Quite a few people are actually shocked as to how "compelling" this show is. The Storyline is actually amazing even though it slows and gets crazier in the later seasons. Still a great show though and much like Teen Wolf👍
P.S: Definitely one of the most attractive casts, you're missing out on a banger series

They physically can't enter homes they weren't invited into (unless it's unowned property). Though there was a situation in which a vampire was in an unowned home, and Elena signed the deed to make it hers while the vampire was still in there (or the vampire was "dead" (temporarily) when he was brought in, and then revived. I can't remember), and the vampire started suffocating, so I guess that's the answer to your question lol
I finally finished vampire diaries on Netflix than went on to the originals finally got finished with that now im on legacies
Legacies and the originals are so good
He became human with the cure of vampirism which was with Elana towards the end of the series
Stephan ended up marrying Caroline. The girl he saw at the end with the blonde low ponytail was his best friend whom Damon killed.

its called diaries because *SPOILER ALERT* at the end of season 6 Elena gets send on a mystical coma of which she will only wake up when her best friend dies and right before she says her goodbyes she tells everyone to keep diaries on everything that happens while she is "dead" + Stefan also has a diary
Stefan ended up with caroline. The girl that he hugged at the end was his best friend who died earlier in the show from damon. Also, vampires can't turn human but in season 4 there was like a plot where there was one small cure for vampirism, which later in season 8 was injected into stefan by bonnie (a long story) and that turned him human. And also, the love triangle ended in season 4, she stayed with damon for the rest of the show
