I have a specific playlist that my artist and I listen to during our sessions so I’ll occasionally psych myself up by listening to it during my drive to the studio!

I have a small kit I take to the tattoo shop! It has granola bars, bottled water, a favorite sweatshirt, headphones and a book :) Keeping a favorite sweatshirt and book can relieve stress for me so it's both practical and personal!
Very practical! I usually just make conversation with the artist, as I'm always wanting to learn more about what's happening, how things work, et cetera. The artist responsible for my Alice sleeve, Ben, said when he gets tattooed it's earbuds in, eyes closed, and no talking. 😅
I have that exact shirt, in white! I bought a small, since it's for men and I'm a girl, but it is so soft and comfortable and the Astronaut is SOOOOO CUTE!

Getting a new one today. My plan every time. Always wash, everything but specifically the area getting tattooed. For the artist. Moisturise the area for a while before, and obviously after. Sugar, pain killers try not to stress sweat.
My next tattoo appointment is Saturday, and all of these are great advice to keep in mind while waiting impatiently for the weekend! My other prep step I like to do is gently exfoliate the area in the shower once a week for about a month before the appointment. It helps soften the skin, and also helps me mentally adjust to having a regular care regimen for the area, since I tend to baby the heck out of my tattoos once they’re healed. 😅

I always take orange juice, water, cashews and dextrose with me when I'm getting tattooed, keeps my blood sugar stable. When it drops, I start twitching and shaking uncontrollably, which is obviously very bad for getting tattooed.
Even though there was no new information for me in this video, listening to your calming voice is always nice and if people ask me in the future about tips for getting a tattoo, I'll always recommend them to watch your videos.

I remember the first time I had my tattoo; I almost went unconscious. My body was not familiar with the pain. It felt like sunburn and someone scratching it. The pain was tolerable, nothing too annoying. My uncle and brother were with me. In fact, my uncle had an appointment for a new tattoo at the same place. The tattoo artist was kind. He gave me some candy when I was pale.

I would loved to see this earlier because 3 days ago I got my second tattoo and was a big one, anyhow the session went pretty well I sat in that chair 6 and a half damn hours but it was actually pretty enjoyable can't wait now the second session and my tattoo to be done, good advices man, have a nice one
How about tips for covering up when your tattoo requires taking off a bra/shirt? I’m getting a tattoo next month that will go from the middle of my back and up to in between my shoulder blades. Thanks!
Is there any study or some video that shows how ink actually behave once it is in the skin during the healing process and after? I've seen different types of reactions over time such as fade away or actually the lines goes bolder and so on. Is there any information these things?
Lots! It depends on a variety of factors like the skill of the artist, the type of skin, if there are allergies, and so on. I'm hoping to do a video at one point on precisely this with a dermatologist (if I can find one!).
Oh, it'll hurt. 😅 Will it hurt more than the inside of your elbow or on your wrist or the top of your foot? Who knows? The pain is, in my opinion, a necessary part of the process. It's also temporary. Power through it!
